Rawnsley Park Station reviews
81Had 2 nights here recently in a camper van. The ideal location and set up for exploring the magnificent Flinders Ranges. Everything you need and more, whether camping or on a powered site. And the Woolshed Restaurant is as good as all the reviews say. I would stay here rather than Wilpena Pound Resort for your visit
Definitely worth a visit. Wonderful accommodation, fantastic scenery and the possibility for hiking is endless. Guide’s and staff couldn’t be more helpful.
Amazing place to stay, we were fortunate enough to enjoy one of the Eco Villas.
Stunning walks around the property, all very well marked and a wide range of tours available as well.
Excellent dinners in the Woolshed restaurant. We can't wait to visit again!
The Station is actually a G'day Park. It has powdered and unpowered sites. The price is reasonable. Conveniences are great, the reception/shop staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried. They sell fuel at a reasonable price ($2.49 for diesel). There is an imposing view of the south wall of Wilpena Pound over looking the park. Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed both nights. Also had close proximity to Wilpena.
A great place to use as a base for travels in and around the area. Friendly staff and great facilities.
We had a fabulous stay here. The unpowered site was terrific with amazing views. Reception /shop staff really helpful. The facilities are a short walk from the sites but very clean and well maintained. It's close to everything that a tourist to the Flinders wants to see and do. The restaurant is absolutely first class.great food and great service.
AWESOME Station. A MUST STAY. Wonderful staff. Very helpful. We had a powered site for 1 night. No problems. Amenities were fine & they had hot water to wash ur dishes. The next day we did a scenic flight 1st thing in morning WOW JUST WOW Wilpena Pound is GORGEOUS. The landscape & scenery from above is majestic. Our pilot was Andrew & his commentary was very informative. DEFINITELY WORTH EVERY AT THE STATION. Thank you for a beautiful experience on our 1st night of travels.
We stayed here in one of the cabins. They were well equipped, had everything we needed. Pots, pans, cutlery & best of all some great coffee provided with a filter jug. There are plenty of walking/ hiking opportunities. We did all of them. The hardest would be to the Bluff, a bit of care needed in that one especially on the way down.
So nice and relaxed We camped in a nice little pine forest with great views of Rawnsley Bluff I recommend this place the staff are very friendly and helpful
It's actually very nice, just a pity about the lack of concern from other campers. I know that's not the parks fault but it's something visitors should be aware of. The sites are close together. If you have a travel auction you probably get the sites on the main road through camp and have traffic and noisy neighbours. School holidays should be avoided if you want a bit of serenity.
Beautiful views when driving into the park & hiking, however to have a view from your site you have to go up high in the unpowered/bush area to get the really gorgeous unobstructed views & require a 4WD. Definitely a much too ‘touristy’ park for us, reminded us more of being in a caravan park than in the Flinders Ranges. Would recommend checking out the smaller/less touristy family run stations like Alpana Station while in the Flinders. 3 stars for the views, 2 stars taken off for the touristy feel and also had a bit of rude customer service when leaving, which left a bad taste. Overall not a bad place to try & stay a couple of nights however probably won’t be back.
Very nice, staff friendly, and very helpful Amenities very clean despite being very busy with school holidays. Plenty to do, flights, hiking, and close to other interesting places
Friendly staff, powered sites look a bit small but the unpowered section is 1st class. Next time I'll drive further in although I had a great spot there are better spots further in
Loved Rawnsley, we stayed in a powered sites for 3 nights. The lady in reception was just lovely. Beautiful vista waking up no matter what camp spot you were in. Paid for the 4wd track it was good but to long by an hour didn't find the first hour all that scenic or different to be honest. The 4wd part at the end was fantastic we really enjoyed it
Beautiful scenery. Initial stuff with 3 rd party booking. Rawnsley Park Staff terrific and sorted issue.
Whether you want to sleep in a villa, caravan or bush camp, there’s something for everyone with great views of the ranges. It’s a huge park that allowed us to set up our tent with no one else in sight. Clean toilet and shower facilities near the entry, with a couple extra toilets spread out along the 5km trail. We saw kangaroos bouncing around at dusk. There is 4G phone signal, but it was quite difficult to load at times. They offer fuel, generous fire wood, and a general store with all your camping and food supplies. We did their AWD and 4WD courses ($50 for gate fees). 4WD was great - some super steep slopes and great views. AWD course, good for families as there’s a supplied map to follow. Disappointing we couldn’t get into the nearby restaurant, it was booked out for the 3 nights we were there - so organise that early
We stayed 3 nights at site 17 - a powered site with 2 others, would have been a tight spot to get into if someone else was already set up. Great facilities, stocked shop, lots of walks from the camp site. Great location to access the national park
Great people running the park
Lovely views
Some walks around the park well worth doing
Great caravan park with amazing views and adorable staff. There's different options for unpowered sites: close to the powered sites/amenities or further out (bush camping)
I was going to stay only one night but decided to stay 2 considering all there is to do around. There's a short walk that goes round the back up to Pines Caves, good introduction to the bigger/harder walks. I really liked the kitchen and the amenities were spotless
The owners here were great, can't thank them enough, facilities were always clean and well maintained.
