Matcha House reviews
65 Iced houjicha latte: too sweet
Eton mess: as a matcha dessert, I was a bit disappointed with the matcha flavour as the dessert lacked the oomf of matcha. I would’ve liked it if there was less cream, as the cream overwhelmed all the other flavours and coated my mouth uncomfortably.
Affordability: not worth the price
Service: it’s alright, just average
Probably won’t come again.
Staffs are not very polite. Also, after 6 years the menu is the same, not very creative. Overprice matcha ice cream!
One of my favourite dessert places! Great food, great service and great vibes too! Love everything on their menu, EVERYTHING!
First time dinning and planning to visit again soon! Polite service and very attentive to the table. Was very notable that the dishes did not rely on sugar to bring a burst of flavour and therefore did not leave that sickly sweet taste in the mouth. Highly recommend the traditional matcha green tea.
We love matcha. This place does pretty good matcha related things. We love this place. Simple as that!
The food is good, but the service always make me disappointed. The staff aren’t friendly all the time.
Very disappointed.
The staff wasn't polite at all.
My boyfriend and I went there and when he wanted to pay the lady said "move away"
Without please or thank you, even though my boyfriend already behind the line in the cashier.
I know this Covid makes everything mess up, but PLEASE BE NICE AND POLITE!
His face looks like Chinese boy, but he's not Chinese!
Even though he's Chinese, please be NICE the way you talk. Really disappointed.
If you like Matcha, definitely come visit this adorable little tea house. Full of charm, wonderful service and they even laugh at your awkward jokes. Probably don't ask for a suggestion though, wife got the frappe and I ended up drinking it. And, this is the important part, if you think Matcha tastes a little like lawn clippings, then you won't enjoy this place. But, if you like it, you'll love this place!
Amazing matcha teas and desserts prepared in the traditional manner and presented beautifully, with flowers and fruit. My favourites were the waffles and the cheesecake, but everything we had was delicious. A unique place for a date or to meet friends.
Really nice matcha here! Love matcha lava cake the most and matcha latte is really good as well both in hot and the iced one. Enjoy the ambiance there and their staff are cute and considerate, always smiling and very polite. Highly recommend for having matcha here and having a joyful night!
Extremely hospitable, comfortable, and delicious. Lava cake was A+ for me but can't go wrong with any pick here. Favorite stop in Adelaide.
Non-professional service. Owner a and staff are not friendly, they will feel bothered when u take the children with u. And the matcha is very bitter so we couldn’t eat.
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY FOR THIS PLACE
The matcha tea was very good and I liked the desert as well.
I liked the ‘tables’ and ‘chairs’ on the floor, very traditional.
What is negative is that It is expensive and each person has to buy a dessert, otherwise you have to leave.
Customer services is very bad and very rude
I will never return and would not recommend anyone to come here!
I was shocked by so much haters' rate to this place. This is a good place for dessert and service is really friendly.
Overall, customer service is not very good.
The desserts are fine, I personally found it too sweet, my friend loves it tho.
Recommend the daifuku mochi.
Pearls are not good, small and tough and it hasn’t been sunk in brown sugar long enough so it is tasteless.
The matcha house is perfect place to sit down and chat with your friends along with their lovely selection of traditional Japanese tea. The matcha waffles is a must try. The ambience is quiet comforting and beautiful. The staffs very helpful too.
Great choices in green Matcha teas with delicious Matcha desserts. Recommend the Matcha lava cake.
Great dessert night with friends and reasonable price too. As a matcha lover I love this place. Impressive garnishing. I was surprised that their signature dessert Lava cake was accompanied by matcha flavoured icing sugar and taste great. The side ice cream was not too sweet. Matcha waffle has matcha flavoured syrup on top too. Great dining experience. How lucky we are to find such good matcha dessert in Adelaide
