Matcha House reviews
65 Nice experience we enjoyed our dessert and matcha tea.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming since it was our first time, we chose their recommendation and it was amazing ️
This place is amazing. The service and the food was extraordinary. The tea was not only delicious, but also really intensive in taste. Can't really recomend the matcha House enough.
The food is not bad but the rules I don’t get it, there aren’t full of people there, but they want us to leave because the maximum you can stay there is 90 minutes, so please don’t come back here if you want to chat with your friends. Even if you order more food after one and a half hour you can’t stay there.
Craving a nice refreshing matcha drink or dessert.
Been to the O’connell location many years ago. I like to support small business and especially know how limited Adelaide is with these types of specialty cafes compared to Melbourne and Sydney. It’s a pity the reviews sound bad. But whats astounding is the owner has even taken the effort to clap back on customer reviews in such a passive aggressive way. Which to me, reflects their customer service attitude. Reviews are there for a reason and the audience tells all. Pro tip: try taking constructive criticism well and improve the business for the sake of it. Sad to say wont be visiting: (
Great service & delicious tea and desserts. We had a great experience here while visiting on holidays. Thanks Matcha House. Can you please open a store in Brisbane ;)
Durian lava cake is super tasty! Love it! My friends and I enjoyed here so much! Always going back! Do recommend, guys!
Reliable go to spot after dinner in Chinatown. Great atmosphere, makes you feel like you are in Japan. Highly recommend the traditional matcha or whiskey if you are into fine spirits.
The lava cakes were really good. The tea wasn't great but the taro milkshake was amazing. Good opening hours. Would come again
The shop is very Japanese vibe. I appreciate the staffs being friendly, polite and how respectful they are. The food is so good! The matcha latte is not so strong, which is very nice & it is frothy, same with the hot chocolate. Their matcha waffle is heaven! It is a must try. Meanwhile, their matcha lava cake is the bomb. You guys should try. I’m not even joking. Everything is freshly made. The waiting period is not that long, too. They also have detox tea, I bought the Liver Detox and Digestion. It’s good. Overall, this place is highly recommended. Try and visit! Keep it up Matcha House! Arigatou:)
Went to Matcha House to drink some tea, and we enjoyed ourselves, felt like a whole experience. The interior was clean and made me feel like I was right in Japan - loved the K-pop and J-pop gently playing in the background. The staff were polite, knowledgeable, and seemed to observe Japanese etiquette when doing things like serving the tea.
Their menu featured not only matcha, but also various teas based on their natural properties. I chose the 'allergy relief' tea which came in a pot, for one person, but was still plentiful. It was a nice thoughful touch to be provided with double-walled glasses to drink our tea with so that we didn't burn our hands!
Never expected a PLATE-SHARING FEE will be charged on our bill. We’ve ordered three deserts for 4 people, isn’t it a common sense to have some sharing plates with us? But when the time we asked for 2 sharing plates, we were told to pay extra 50cents for each empty plate. Just curious what you guys charged the money for? For detergent or something? Feel so bad for the service.
I used to go to the north adelaide shop all the time, however now i think this is the Most terrible restaurant ever! One person per meal and minmum cost are illegal in Australia.i. Dont understand how or who has let these people get away with this. I really hope something is done.
Decent looking place however, the service from the staff members are horrible and the price you pay for the desserts are a total rip off.
You would be more satisfied ordering a Soft serve from a drive through than this place
The experience was great! The staff is very friendly.
The “Vegan Parfait” ice-cream was a great one for me I wouldn’t recommend the cold tea and waffles though (quite pricy for what it is).
Great place for desserts if you’re a matcha lover. Was fairly empty on a thursday night and we got a seat immediately
Nice ambience, tea was lovely. Although the tatami style was nice, it’s not my preference for seating.
Real shame about the poor reviews. It seems people have had dodgy service but that was definitely not the case for my visit. Guy was very helpful and recommended us drinks when he saw us struggling to choose. The food though, absolutely delicious. They definitely have the matcha flavour I was looking for. I can't vouch for the service but the food and drink will most definitely not disappoint
Have been here with friends before. Decided to bring kids to try. We was thinking of ordering desert to share as we don’t want to feed too much sugar to children. I think the boss lady and remind me to look at the menu carefully. Until she pointed out towards the bottom of the menu, it said that every one needs to order something even though we have two children under 6. This is first time that I’ve ever heard. Lava cake was ok but she ruined the whole experience. I will never come back again.
Bad customer service and they house rules are terrible. Five of us came and ordered 4 items for share, their rules required 1 item per customer. So we ordered another one, it took 20 minutes for the lava cake to arrive and then they only gave us 4 spoons. We asked for an extra plate for sharing the foods and they charged 50p per plate. Never return.
Finally, got the time to visit to this place, which was on the list for a while. Matcha house is a place to be. Everything is so perfect, from food to ambience to service. Loved the idea of traditional seating; gives a different vibe.
