Kingdom / Star House Chinese Restaurant reviews
83Horrendous & Most Appalling service ever. Dishonest Staff working on the payment counter asking to pay cash to avoid Tax.forced to pay EFTPOS surcharge & Service Fee even above $10. Non-English speaking Staff come to Australia and don't know the meaning of service. Very Rude. Must we asked to go back to where they have come from and do Dodgy stuff back in their country. Extremely Disgusting.
Yumcha Hit and miss with some dishes. Disappointed with the salt and pepper squid but the tripe and chicken feet were nice.
Dishonest restaurant, trying to avoid tax by asking customer to pay by cash. As soon as you've used entertainment book voucher, they would apply discount then apply surcharge again
Rowdy venue, but that isn't a bad thing. This place is fast paced and full of life. Usually see big groups eating here. Frequent visitor, and haven't had a bad meal yet!
Very good cantonese food. Not quite as good as restos in Hongkong but it comes close, closer than others. One of my favourite Chinese restos in Adelaide for sure.
Three words for this restaurant: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
If I could, I would rate this a zero
So good absolutely loved this place came here for lunch the service was great, customer service was great, food was amazing defiantly will be going back
Good service, tasty food, and low msg. Only drawback is on-street parking near location and the open door (purposely closed it, as the cold draft was annoying, and staff reopened it).
Great food and great prices. Good place to just pop in during the week when your feeling like chinese as the restaurant is large but id suggest booking if on a friday or the weekend. Is also part of the Entertainment Book voucher system. Yummo!
Horrible customer service. If you are there to eat an 8 course meal, they will be super nice to you. If you are there for anything other than a massive feast, their faces turn poker real quick.
This place opened its door before the Star House that Saturday morning we visited. The two restaurants sit next to each other. But we are glad to have walked in Kingdom as the yumcha served was delicious. Service isn't slow either and really appreciate the staff taking time to introduce their best/specialised dishes beside the obvious. Wish we could go back for dinner. Well.next time then.
We frequent here for weekend Yum Cha and many dinners here. Food is always great and consistent. You will definitely know the seafood dishes here are prepared with fresh produce, their live seafood selection is available to pick from the display tanks on the back wall of restaurant.
However service can be improved, waiting staff at times can be hard to communicate with in English.
Unfortunately the rest rooms are either out of order or need bit of cleaning. Also no baby change facilities available.
We wasted three hours eating there. One hour for waiting dishes. One hour for eating and waiting. One hour for waiting the receipt. The waitress asked me to wait for extra one hour to get the receipt. In the end they didn’t give us the receipt that shows what we ordered. Three dishes cost nearly 50 dollars. Unbelievable! During the dining, they forgot three dishes and gave us one more same dish. Service is bad and the taste is worse.
菜中有活蟲 餐廳經理態度極差沒有任何道歉,不會再光顧,也不會推薦身邊朋友光顧
A living insect was found in the dish, manager didn’t apologise! The worst Chinese restaurant!
Went here for yum cha with a group and the food was great.
The waiter serving us couldn't speak English so we had to point to the menu while ordering
Food was OK but the service was terrible. About half the waiting staff was too busy joking with each other than serving customers and was very rude.
Service: ordered.then waited for items to come out.they rhought we ordered multiples of some things but never brought them out. We had to ask for our items several times.we had to ask for sauce for various items several times too.
Food: squid tough.no seasoning.dim sum.soup dumpling.not great at all.fried dumplings were meant to be pork but smelt like fish.
Satay entree is the ONLY saviour here.
I highly doubt we would come back.
The taste of the food always changes, which isn’t a good thing. Most the the dishes has too much msg, the after taste is almost unbearable sometimes. The only items I recommended ordering are the roast meats and Hainan styled chicken. They have the best roast ducks and chicken in Chinatown.
How to truly describe my experience.that was nipple-twistingly disappointing. Slow, overpriced, misleading. Staff aren't too keen on taking orders either. Looked too much like hard work for them. If you enjoyed the food, just know that you're wrong.
Good value for money. Food and price are as I expected from a typical Chinese restaurant. Yum cha is indeed yum!
