Kingdom / Star House Chinese Restaurant reviews
83Quick easy feed and taste so good. More than enough choices on the menu. Lots of live fresh and salt creatures on display for you to catch and cook. Yum Cha during the day is a must have
Probably one of the best Chinese restaurant I've tried so far. The food is really yummy and the service try their best. We have been visiting this restaurant since 2017.
Horrible attitude and terrible service from the staff. Made a booking for 6.30pm on Chinese New Year Eve, arrived at 6pm to be told we couldn't have one of the many empty tables but if we came back at 6.30pm they would seat us. Came back at 6.30pm to find that all the tables were full and they couldn't tell us when there would be a free table. Waited for over 40 mins and they still couldn't get us a table, and the staff just getting upset when we asked where our table was. This is despite our reservation clearly being shown on their booking sheet. Gave up and left as kids were getting hungry. Recommend that you avoid this place and go to a much better place elsewhere that actually know what a reservation means.
We eat lunch with friends most Thursdays, lately taking it in turn to pick a place. When this place came up we initially confused it with another place nearby with a very similar name, and also thought 'not another Chinese restaurant'. Good to be wrong some times. This place was a delight. Small-ish, but with enough room to be comfortable. A good attempt at style and decoration, and with the, seemingly, compulsory TV. We really liked the small menu. Seemed like they knew what they could cook well and concentrated on that. In contrast to the usual pages and pages of usual Chinese restaurant menus.
The food was good, sadly the customer service was really bad. Our last dish not even come out yet, the waiter just take the bill and the eftpos machine out and asked us to pay. Not even one smile since we arrived until we left. No enthusiasm to serve.
Food was good with reasonable prices. But service was horrible. Went for dim sum on a weekday for brunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. I was initially served the wrong order which was addressed by the waiter and then had to wait for another 45 mins for the rest of the ordered food to get served as the order was not in the system. We were then told some of the food that we have ordered were sold out because it has been served to customers that came after us. It took more than 10 minutes between each dishes to get served and even then there were orders missing. In the end we were so tired with all the mistakes and each time it was a different waiter addressing us that we just paid and walked off without waiting for the rest of our food. My guess is they're probably not in the system as well. I think the staffs needs to be trained to repeat the orders as well the waiter who took the order needs to address her mistake instead of passing it off to another waiter.
Decent and plentiful without being especially memorable. There is some serious menu confusion with so called vegetarian yum cha veins in fact stuffed with prawns. Our fried squid was overdone and rubbery. Good value for money for a casual meal
Please thank one of your staff members!
My friends and I were here one night and one of my friends accidentally left behind his bags with musical instruments inside!
As we were leaving we were about to head to Gong Cha and as we got there one of your staff members came running after us with my friend's bags and it was so funny but also thanks so much cause that guy had to run a lot of distance lmao.excellent service highly recommend xx
Really good yum cha, but make sure you get in early because if it is busy then staff will forget your custom orders.
Great customer service system applied. Love the food. Great options to choose from. 5% discount if u pay by cash. Clean tables as they use paper table cover (use n throw). Specials fr lunch menu too. Overall will give 5 star looking at their service SYSTEM.
Falling standards over the last 18 months. Slow service with limited selection at yum cha. Once the place to go, now the last place to go for Yum cha.
The food is lovely, great experience. They will also accommodate you with specific dishes that may not be a part of your yum cha.
Not a big fan of pretense. Chinese food is meant to be dumped on the table, wolf down at the crack of the whip and be outta there at a shake of a lamb's tail. If service you are after- eat in a Danish restaurant.
I saw the black dressed owner was arguing with a young couple customers,we were sitting behind the young couple and heard that they complain about the restaurant serve them with leftover piecee from others' dishes,so horrible!
Then we decided to leave as well,it just unacceptable and I know chinese always have food safety problem but how dare they still doing the same dirty things in Australia.
We saw the police came and helped the couple to leave and it just feel so.bad!
Not bad for Saturday lunch. But they serve food the other side all the way. We got nothing first half an hour.
Ok restaurant been.here many times over the years but they can never get the burramandi cooked.right.sometimes it is way too sweet sometimes.it is way too over cooked.sometimes just salty as hell
so avoid the burra u might be fine.yumcha is the best not the dinner part
One of the best and authentic restaurants and I will continue to go, & a big thank you to Stanley
I found the steamed dumpling range a bit lack luster. I usually expect to find a whole nice fresh prawn in a har gow instead of some chopped up prawns balled with paste. Dumpling dough a bit too starchy and sticky as well. Roast duck on the dry side. Plus side - BBQ Pork buns were nice and service was good.
Super fast, friendly service. Meals were pretty big and I was very satisfied. Would definitely recommend and come back here again on my next trip to Adelaide!
Good food, nice service. Very authentic Chinese Resturant. Recommend it if you like Chinese food
