Georges on Waymouth reviews
66This restaurant is absolutely awesome. Awesome food and awesome service. George the owner is very personable, was very busy on a Monday night yet took time out to make us feel welcome. It didn't just stop with George, the other staff who attended to us were just as good. There is obviously a great culture in this workplace. But it is our tastebuds that are reeling with the tantalising sensations tonight.
Visited here after reading reviews on trip advisor. Did not disappoint. Signature dish was excellent. Great wine choices and DJ (waiter) was excellent. The lamb was superb and there is an interesting selection of wine by the glass. Although the staff forgot about us for a while the complementary truffles at the end more than compensated - well done! This is always one of Adelaide's best restaurants.
Brilliant food. Fresh ingredients prepared to a great standard without a hint of ponce in the delivery or the service. Great wines too.
My friend and I very much enjoyed our dinner tonight. The meals were delicious and the service was faultless. Thank you.
Service: absolutely fabulous, we stepped into the restaurant and were greeted by friendly staffs. There’s a lady called Julia, she is absolutely amazing and gave us the best customer service we have ever experienced.
Food: extraordinary! Since we prefer sweet cocktails and it was not on the menu, the owner made a special fruit cocktail for us and it was absolutely refreshing and delicious. We had three people and we almost ordered all the food from the three-course menu. They are all delicious and beautifully presented. Highlights: the house-made bread, signature lamb main course and chocolate mouse. I have never ever tasted a lamb with such strong and sophisticated flavour. And the chocolate chocolate mousse is the smoothest I have ever tried.
Environment: the setting in restaurant is gorgeous. Bathroom is clean, love the lighting and table setups.
Definitely recommend going!
Services is bad, staff not smile, I felt the man who service have big stress in his life, doing the service as compulsory,
The food is so average depends to price, the only thing was a good table cover is so clean
Great food and wine, but cant deal with large group of people at the same time.slow to bring food out with tables of 25+ people.
Called for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. Really superb food, great wine list, service was attentive but not overly so. Topped off the meal when the waitress presented my wife with two beautiful macarons with a delicious flavored cream/ sorbet. Fantastic place.
Georges is a great place to grab a coffee or a bite - and escape from the hustle bustle of the city to have a quiet conversation.
I liked the place, service was supper nice both from staff and what looked like the manager floating around
The lamb press was delicious, but was disappointed by the entre
Its probably not because it tasted bad, but because I'm usually disappointed by it. I actually had a revelation eating there, that I should stick to ordering main and desert
In a word - sensational. Great food and best service Ive had in a long long time. Would award 6 stars if I could!
Great lunch location. Swordfish was excellent, roasted potatoes were great and the coffee was fantastic. Great all around.
My family and I ate here the other week. There were about 10 of us altogether. Upper area was closed, but bottom level was full of patrons.
Service: amazing, the staff assigned to our table was attentive, approachable and friendly. The owner (George, I'm assuming) oversees the floor and he was also friendly and attentive. You can tell customer experience is very important to him. Also as we were leaving, staff held the door open for us. Nice!
Food: Okay, I'm not into cured salmon, raw fish or anything like that.but the salmon pictured was so delicious I'm totally onboard with it. Lamb wrapped in prosciutto was amazing. I'm still not over the salmon.
Yum! Top notch food and service. Visited from Melbourne and was not disappointed. Only recommendation, the restaurant could be revamped to match the quality of the food.
Brilliant upscale dining, but not too formal. Business casual is appropriate for eating here. Great fish!
We had our final Australia group tour meal at Georges on Waymouth on our last night in the country. There were eight of us so we were seated on the upper balcony with a great view of the restaurant. The food was great and the recommend local Australian wines were winners too. We only had a limited number of items to choose from on the menu but everyone in the group enjoyed their appetizers, mains, and deserts immensely.
