As interstate visitors this was our first time at George's. It was a lovely experience with a well organized team under the supervision of the owner George. Upon arrival he greeted us as if we were regular customers. From there we enjoyed the food and were well looked after by Alex who did a great job! At the conclusion of the meal l felt a little faint and asked George if he could ring for a taxi. He did better than that - he matched down the street and organized a taxi for us. What an absolute gentleman and no wonder his business is doing so well! If you are coming to Adelaide make sure you go and see George to have a wonderful experience!

Georges is well known in Adelaide for consistently good Mediterranean cuisine. The menu draws on local produce with European experience and excellence.
We decided to share two starters and went with the Hiramasa Port Lincoln Kingfish crudo, apple and shallot dressing, radish, labneh, dill oil along with the Vitello Tonnato, tuna aioli, pickled white anchovies, capers, pickled shallots.
The former dish was a revelation in freshness and flavour. The fish was light and delicate.
The thinly sliced veal with tuna aioli in comparison was a more substantial mouthful per fork. It also had the crisp texture of the capers and the smoothness of the aioli.
We enjoyed both but tipped the kingfish as the winner.
For our main course dishes Kathleen chose the crowd-pleasing lamb press, pancetta, chickpea hummus, Mt. Zero chickpea salad, za'atar, and watercress which is known as the Georges signature dish. I chose the 300 gram "Southern Grain" Black Angus scotch fillet (MBS 4+), café de Paris butter. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare.
Before I describe these two dishes, the standout main course special for the evening was a 1-kilogram T-bone steak with a marbling score of 4+. It is a shared dish.
When informed of this special, my eyes lit up and Kathleen grinned in reaction to my facial expression. We discussed the arguments for and against choosing the T-bone steak, and decided against it. We would swap our plates during the meal we’d both experience a good steak tonight anyway. If we went with the T-bone, that would be all we ate and that seemed limiting for our first time at Georges.
I think it was the correct decision. For me, a scotch fillet (or ribeye for North American readers), is a perfect blend of meat and fat. It is also flavourful and tender. That’s not to say a T-bone isn’t full of flavour, but I wasn’t sure if the chef would leave all the fat on the meat the way I like it. At least with a scotch fillet, there is likely to be islands of lovely fat between the large muscle bundles. This decision also meant I could enjoy pressed lamb wrapped in prosciutto. Our whole meal was a meat-eating dream.
We can understand why the lamb press is the restaurant’s signature dish. It was well executed in presentation, the lamb was perfectly cooked and tender, and it suited the chickpea accompaniment.
The scotch fillet was magnificent, especially smothered in the herb-enriched butter. I laid the sliced meat flat and then smeared the butter over the cut surfaces for greater penetration and flavour.

I'm yet to be disappointed by Georges. Their staff are attentive and friendly; always accommodating of our requests. The food is consistently excellent and varied.

High recommend when you're looking for something a little special.

We held our annual Xmas show for 20 friends at George On Waymouth Saturday night. We hired the balcony room and had our own waiter who was even willing to play Santa for us. Nothing was to hard for Karan he was exceptional. I highly recommend George On Waymouth service and food was without flaw.

Food was some of the best I have had in a long time. Service was great. My wine glass was never empty which was great but also a little dangerous

Excellent food, and an incredible wine list. Their specials were exemplary, and the staff were fantastic. George’s is a staple on the Adelaide foodie list for a reason.

Thanks to Georges my friend celebrated her birthday in style. We literally walked in and was so surprised that the Resturant was able to accommodate us past 9pm. The hostesses were amazing. Cleared a table and started making us drinks at the bar. When our table was ready we sat down and had the best meal ever. The food was super tasty and the dessert was to die for. My chocolate fondant middle cake was an explosion of goodness and just want the Dr ordered for the night washed down with the watermelon goodness of my house made cocktails specially made by the bartender.

We will be coming back for sure.for everything and for the staff all being so attentive.

First time back at this restaurant in over a decade. Decor has changed, impeccable food and service hasn't. My partner and I went with the specials. Gnocchi with truffle paired with a local Pinot Noir was a delight. Comforting on a cold Adelaide night but with a air of sofistication. Main of Blue eye Trevaller left us feeling very satisfied. I'm sure we will return

5 star is underrated, should have been 10! I felt so valued here as the service here is top-notched! The Barramundi special we had was good but I will not forget their great service! I just forgot to tip but I’ll definitely come back to dine in and will give a tip next time!

Stunning food. Quality service. Wish we had this restaurant in Brisbane. One of the nicest restaurant meals we've eaten in a long time.

I used this as a party venue and as part of this package they have private rooms with bar and tender with a overlooking view. Luxury to an Adelaidian. I recommend this highly.

What an amazing dining experience. My wife chose this restaurant to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. We had never eaten here before and it didn’t disappoint. We decided on the 5 course degustation with matching wines and are glad we did. The French sommelier whilst young, knew his craft and perfectly paired our wines with each course. The food was exceptional and the gnocchi was the best we had ever eaten. If you are visiting Adelaide you must do yourself a favour and eat here. You won’t be disappointed. We will be back.

My wife and I were stuck in quarantine, and it was no trouble at all to organise delivery! The food was so well presented, and so delicious! Thank you so much!

The food and service here are excellent.

The only unfortunate problem is that the atmosphere is ruined by an up-tight maitre-d. We had the same experience some years back. We'd kind of hoped things would have changed.

We were in the first sitting, and the place was wonderful and relaxed, everyone doing a good job. Until this guy shows up.

I can't abide bosses who badger and bully their staff. They're good at their job: just let them do it.

Whenever my husband and I have a celebration, Georges on Waymouth has always been an option. So, again we had the pleasure of celebrating our 37th Valentines day dining on beautifully executed dishes. Although our recent Covid outbreak has imposed further restrictons on George to maintain high quality dining, executed by high quality staff, he has not disappointed. We were so looking forward to dining here again after such a long period of in and out lockdowns. From the starter to the dessert, the quality and tastes of everything was once again outstanding! Menu is extensive and seasonal as well as fine dining. Service was professional and knowledgeable, particularly informing about types of wines and my Classic Martini was amazing! Ambience remains a classic and continues to be very welcoming and charming. Thankyou George and Team for leaving us with a desire to continue to come back again and again!
