Federal Hotel Restaurant

My son and i booked in for 3 nights. Unfortunately we had to leave after 1 night. Something personal came up. But the beds were very comfortable.the only complaint i have was no flannals for the shower.
On the way back home, i relized i left a good pair of earrings behind. A few min later i received a call from the hotel saying they found them. I was over the moon and asked if they would post them off to me. I will get a call about them tomorrow. The point im making here are the staff are very honest
Is They could have keept them. But didnt. I found the staff also very friendly. Next time im over that way i will be staying there. The food is delicious.

Worst schnitzel I have ever had. The most disappointed I have ever been in my life after waiting over an hour. Honestly thought ‘house of schnitzel’ meant they knew what they were doing but obviously not. Processed piece of cardboard.

Great customer service especially by the new girl a few nights ago, however the food was greasy and undercooked, the prawns felt like they had been taken out of the fryer and not drained. Ended up in the bin. Other than that, place was relatively good.

Absolutely amazing schnitzels! Great value for money. Great family environment even has a playground for the little ones. Won 500 on the pokes too!

Stayed 2 Nights, Was so Impressed with my Single Room 11, $55 & Had a Big Screen TV, Fridge Clean Linen (& Staff ask me next Morn if I wanted Fresh Linen) Toilets Clean as was Bathroom, Tea & Coffee & Small Milk supplied, & Staff turned on Aircon for my mate who was riding From Murray Bridge in the heat so his room would be nice & cool for him when he arrived, Would Happily stay here any time, FANTASTIC, Allan Brecht.

Pretty average stay. Couldn’t find a hair dryer in the room and it was after 10pm so can’t ask reception as they were closed. Also the door knob has some issues and it was hard to open and almost like it was falling off. Room, bed sheets and bathroom were pretty clean. Except for the towels that gave off lots of lint. Good budget place if you are just passing by town and need to rest.

Good location, parking space, clean and good size room but door locks is faulty in main door and bathroom, noisy outside and loud air cooling/heating system

Love the customer service, salad bar and great that they offer sparkling red! Steak wasn't that good. I should have gone for the snitz!

Stayed in a twin room with shared bathroom. Room was nice, has a fridge, TV and tea and coffee facilities. Shared bathroom is a bit small, with only one shower, though it was clean. Overall, good value considering the price.

Nice quiet and peaceful accommodation. Close to all services. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Steak was not cooked correctly. Watched a waitress kick a fork along the ground and couldn't be bothered picking it up. We didn't get complementary rolls. Salads were bland. All in all a horrible experience

Staying 2 nights at the Federal Hotel, accommodation is clean and simple, has tea & coffee with a kettle. Mini fridge, tv and air con! Well priced rooms are small but manageable. If you eat at the hotel you receive 20% all meals. Monday night is Snitty night costing you $10! Hotel has a lovely dinning area clean and friendly staff!

Amazed the restaurant is still there and the same sinse last visit some years ago. Food is still cheap and good. Servings are large with a salad bar to help yourself.

Was a little slow on this visit for our food, over half an hour, when other got theirs first, and they arrived later then us to.

Great venue, great menu and high quality meals sadly the wait to order meals and drinks is poor (need more than one person taking food orders). Staff are very polite and friendly. Will definitely be one of our regular dining places.

The bed was super comfy, the food in the bistro was nice. The lack of hot water for a shower not so good. A few other little issues need to be addressed to make this place outstanding.

I've eaten here 3 times. Twice I've ordered chicken schnitzel with chips. The schnitzels we're both dry and slightly over cooked and the chips soggy. The salad bar was the highlight of my meals. The 3rd meal I ate here was a lunch special ($10-13 I believe) which was a really nice, fairly big sandwich and a beer. Indoor seating only (by bar or restaurant area). Food was served fairly fast. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Great location with great in house restaurant serving delicious meals. Very clean room with sufficient amenities and at good price. Close to everything.

Very happy stay at the hotel for a couple of days. Easy access to all the tourist attractions in Mt Gambier. The restaurant is great and offers fantastic food and discounts. Good value for dollars.

Good value for money. Very clean with daily servicing and good customer service. A little road noisy but not unbearable and great location. We would stay again.
