Discovery Parks - Streaky Bay Foreshore reviews
75 Our experience at Discovery Parks- Streaky Bay Foreshore was very below average. $60 dollars for 2 nights unpowered was ridiculous. First night staying neither me or my partner could sleep because of a club/party going on nearby and at 1 in the morning all the drunk people walking through the park/speeding past us was very annoying. The kitchen/reception building have asbestos inside of them with stickers all over them. The unpowered sites are out of range for the free wifi and a very long walk to the bathrooms both of us ended up using the bathroom in the kids park next to us because it was faster. Some of our food was stolen out of the camp fridge as well. All in all would not recommend it's better to go to the RV camp across the road.
Edit: There was no monitoring of noises after 10pm. This wasn't a situation of noisesy neighbours, people from the pub/club where going to the park next to the camp where they where being obnoxiously loud, they where also walking through the camp. My understanding is that this is a requiring issue and not a once off.
Cabin was nice and the park was nice. Perfect location.
Only a minor problem is the water pressure in the shower, it's very light you almost have to run around to get wet.
Still would recommend the park to stay to others,
This place is the best caravan park we’ve stayed at and we’ve stayed at a lot very impressed by how close we are to the water lovely place and friendly staff
We stayed in a cabin for 1 night and it was lovely, super clean and tidy. Beautiful view of the bay in front. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
Staff were really friendly. When using toilet area you would be sprayed by shower water spraying over the top. Turns out alot of the showers have a calcium build up in the shower head and sprays from the pipes in all directions including over the top of the cubicle. Gaps in the toilet and shower doors were a bit large. Also the code for the women's toilets wouldn't work so there would be a line up of people trying to get in. There was also mould growing on the bathroom ceiling.
The toilets don't all have correct seats on them with some seats having smaller seats on the toilet bowl than there should be so your almost touching the bowl when your sitting.
The kids area was neat and clean, however having a window (it is frosted glass) above the bath so anyone walking past can see if the window is open is a hit concerning.
For a few days of our stay the kids area was closed due to some children destroying some stuff apparently. There is a ping pong table there, bats can be hired from the office for deposit of $10 which will be returned when you bring bats back. Has a jumping pillow and playground.
Very nice caravan park on waterfront, very clean amenities, very friendly staff, short walk to town centre, great for kids and adults, well worth a visit short or long term.
Clean facilities, friendly staff, beach front location, nice little town, wonderful and peaceful beach. Whay do you need more? The best place to stay around Ceduna area in a budget price. Highly recommended!
Nice caravan park right on the beachfront in the heart of Streaky Bay.
Great kiosk with a yummy
menu from personal experience.
Very clean amenities.
Third time there probably the last
Very exposed site unfotunately adjacent jumping pillow and not closed down after dark and peopie using it as late as 10 pm management dont care
On the up side great amenaties
Welcoming staff. Luxury cabin can sleep 6. Amazing view from deck and around caravan park. Extra quilts / blankets provided during winter. Allowed our large group to book out one of the camp kitchens and dining room and provided extra crockery. THANK YOU.
Stayed in a deluxe villa - very modern and comfortable, everything was new or near new, with a great deck on the bay to enjoy the location. Would highly recommend!
The scenery was beautiful from the caravan park in Streaky Bay.
Loved being there and driving to a National Park near by.
Fantastic customer service and response when I was unable to fly interstate due to COVID 19 restrictions. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you for your understanding.
Lovely spot but I thought the park was over packed and that caused a sewage smell plus would have been nice to put camper up on grass or something other than dirt
Spent four nights in our van on the beach front. Great location and friendly people. The amenities were clean but a little tired. Showers were hot. There is a little cafe in the park that does great fish and chips, burgers, pizza etc
Lovely park, shame about the patrons. I would not recommend staying here when the fishermen are in. We had the worst experience ever. We obviously interrupted some patrons that think they own the park and had the worst bullying experience ever. I was more than accommodating in what was a tight spot but it seems some people are not as accommodating. It’s a shame because the park has so much to offer. I stayed with our young grandchildren so be aware the language of the fishermen leaves a lot to be desired. Being a Discovery Park we expected it to be family friendly, that is not the best description for this park.
Great park right on the foreshore not far from town. Water very shallow. Lovely staff who changed us on to a better site.
Wow.some big changes here since my last visit.nothing negative, just seems a lot bigger, more cabins, more caravans, still friendly staff as before.this visit included our large caravan and the site they gave us was first class.nice and wide and long.we fitted in easily with a 32 footer! Amenities were clean, spacious & plenty of hot water.good place to stay in Streaky Bay
It’s right on the beach and perfect for anyone into fishing (e.g. Has cleaning stations). Prices are a little high for me but the park is usually chockers so I’m in the minority.
Streaky Bay township is close by and punches well above its weight and has pretty much anything you might need.
However, if you like to watch TV, either you have satellite television or you love the ABC as that is the only local (group of) channel (s) ;
What a lovely setting. Amenities and washing, cooking facilities are good. Lots of friendly staff and travelers.
