Discovery Parks - Streaky Bay Foreshore reviews
75There was plenty of room at back of the park but we were put 15m from amenities block which had faulty self closing door which banged from 6am to 9pm. Also beside a water treatment tank which pumped all day till 8pm. Bins were overflowing, toilet paper dispensers broken or empty, handles and shower roses falling off mid shower. This could have been so much better with some extra thought and action by managers. Disappointed as such a beautiful location.
Beautiful park right on the foreshore. Friendly staff. Large caravan sites. Clean amenities.
Cannot fault the attention to detail from the staff at Discovery Streaky Bay Caravan Park. We arrived after office hours but all details were sent to us via sms prior to our arrival
We stayed in a new seaside cabin that was beautifully appointed. 2 televisions, huge fridge, power points in abundance, lots of storage, huge kitchen…. Far bigger snd better than any other cabin we have stayed in.
Loved everything about this place. Quiet with panoramic views over the bay. Idyllic!
Just a bit too far out of town to walk. Once one is set up in a motor home it is a pain to move again. Next time we will opt for the unpowered site as we really do not need power and to be so close to others who do need it. Had a very quiet relaxed night and the facilities are excellent.
Arrived late and was provided access over the phone. Terrific service, clean facilities and quiet park right on the water.
Got an unpowered site right on the beach $36. Amenities bright and clean. Loved being able to have a fire on the beach and the kiosk fish n chips were tops.
Enjoyed a waterfront site with amazing views. Only slightly more but worth every cent. Facilities are excellent and immaculately clean. Nice in park events like sausage sizzle for charity, pancakes for charity, with low key friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend
Located right on the water which is fabulous for swimming. Too far from town to walk. The amenities here are not great. Old bathrooms that need updating and are dirty. Both laundry’s had broken washing machines. Made it hard with a full park. The sites not on the water are roomy.
The absolute worst thing was this awful sewage smell that blew over our site most of the time. I almost vomited several times. I could barely stand it. Not near a fish table. It was the drainage. Reported to park staff but nothing done about it. The camp kitchen and lounge area also have a foul old fish smell. Wifi absolutely terrible. Several people told me to try the other caravan park in town which Is apparently very new and clean.
2nd time in 18 months, cant wait to comeback, best bloody park and staff in oz, crackin fishnchip shop, friendly grounds staff and cleaners, always up for a chat and a laugh, helpful, friendly office girls, clean dunnys, camp kitchen etc etc.camped right on the beach, night fires on the sand, swimming, fishing, relaxing.the complete package.um, the gentleman complaining about backing his van.mate, you shouldnt be towing if you cant back into those sites.there is plenty of room folks, believe me.cheers bernie
Unpowered site near water under the tree. 8 dead mice under the tent. Been told its a country town. I understand. But close this one site and put as much bait as you can. Staff didnt care. Woman shower dirty. Man shower ok. Kitchen small. Not much shade. Not good wifi. Its not hard to put up a good wifi signal. Just some repeaters and thats it.
Packed to the brim.
This place is very busy. Good location to close by to just about everything around the Streaky bay area.
We stayed in a cabin right on the beach front. I have to stay that this would be one of the best caravan parks we have ever stayed.
The cabin was very clean, roomy and perfect spot.
The staff at check in were amazing as we wanted to arrive a day early.
The grounds are very well looked after and you can see that alot of pride is taken with all the staff, including maintenance and housekeeping.
This is a beautiful part of South Australia.
Thank you for a great stay and would highly recommend this caravan park.
Unfortunately I will not a stay at this park again. After having a problem with our booking which the staff handed well we were placed in overflow where the dogs come for a pee. Our second spot was large, covered in weeds and no barriers from next caravan. I stopped using the ablution block as it wasn't the cleanest. After visiting another park in streaky bay which was spotless and plenty of well kept greenery I will stay there
Stayed in the deluxe cabins and it was DELUXE! Impeccably clean interior, stunning beach front view, great amenities. We loved our night here. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable too.
Fantastic location, very comfortable cabin on the foreshore. Friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend
Great facilities some of the parks for caravans along the foreshore can be difficult to get into if you are not experienced at backing.
Very impressed with the facilities super clean well maintained Great to see some grassed areas as well.
Fantastic swimming beach for all ages.
Very average park. The pictures do not represent the sites. No shade, gravel sites, and hot. Amenities are OK, nice and clean, but the showers don't drain properly. There is a smell of sewerage and the bins stink. Won't be coming back.
Great park right near the beach. Camp kitchen and toilets clean and fully stocked. For camp trailers large drive through sites. Only negative is no grass, anywhere. When the wind blows the dirt goes everywhere.
Powered site a good size. A free steps away from beach front. Staff were friendly and welcomed dogs.
Facilities were really clean.
Lovely beachside park.
I stayed in one of the single room cabins/suites, that had a fantastic view out the back of the Bay.
Great cooking facilities, good shower and toilet, and big lounge and undercover dining table (that was great to relax on watching the tide go out).
There was a kids area at the end of the building, with sandpit, climbing equipment, as well as a jumping cushion only a few meters away near the laundry and public toilet buildings.
Laundry was a little small for the size of the park (with only 4 sets of machines) - but otherwise a fantastic place to stay.
