Completely overpriced and overhyped for what you get there - sour wine, disappointing food and incompetent service.

There’s plenty of decent winery’s in the region that offer authentic experiences and don’t only rely on heavy advertisement.

We absolutely praise this restaurant for their detail and comfort. Every dish and wine pairing was exquisite, and the location overlooking the rolling vineyards was perfect. Our waiter Richard, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and made our experience that much more memorable.

The lobster bisque is the standout but everything that we tried was 5 stars. Service was amazing and the views at an outside table really add to the atmosphere. Book in advance and you won’t regret planning your entire day around having lunch at D’arry’s

Impeccable food and service, with beautiful surroundings to match! Worth every cent and I was well catered for as a vegan.

Partner and I had the degustation here yesterday.
We had some brilliant food with mine being paired with some brilliant wines as I opted for the pairing.
Service staff were all lovely and fantastic.
The Lobster Bisque was definitely the highlight of all the meals, and I definitely recommend you visit just to try it

Visited on Sunday for lunch.

Drinks: d'Arry's The Original Shiraz Grenache 2020 and Elderflower cocktail

Small bites/ something in-between: d’Arry’s bread with Diana E. V.olive oil, toasted seeds and Romesco

Entree: Leek mousse and sauteed leeks with peas, broccoli tops, macadamia cream, celeriac ribbons and puffed wild rice and Lemon gum smoked kangaroo pastrami with banya nut puree, horseradish cream, pickled quandong and pepper leaf damper

Main: Southeast chimichurri beef fillet and smoked cherry tomatoes with grilled cos, avocado salsa, aji pepper sauce and polenta chips and Hills lamb rack and harissa forequarter with date couscous cake, charred eggplant, green fattoush and preserved lemon labneh

Dessert: Frangelico panna cotta with salted toffee popcorn and stewed rhubarb and petit four plate of four sweet bites

Starting with the small bites. As soon as I saw the olive oil was from Diana I knew this experience was going to be nothing less than good. The rustic d’Arry’s bread, paired with Diana E. V.olive oil and toasted seeds, was a delightful blend of simplicity and perfection. The seeds added a delightful crunch, harmonizing beautifully with the rich olive oil and flavorful Romesco. A simple yet perfect appetizer.

For the entree I had the kangaroo pastrami. The Lemon gum smoked kangaroo pastrami dish was a captivating homage to Australia's flavors. The silky horseradish cream and banya nut puree beautifully balanced each other, while the pickled quandong provided a tangy-sweet burst. The pepper leaf damper completed a truly memorable culinary experience.

I had the Hills lamb rack and harissa forequarter for the main paired with the d'Arry's The Original Shiraz Grenache 2020. The Hills lamb rack and harissa forequarter was a Mediterranean culinary experience. The star of the plate, the lamb, was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with the harissa, offering a delightful hint of spice. The date couscous cake provided a subtle sweetness that paired exquisitely with the savory lamb. The charred eggplant added a smoky depth to the dish, and the green fattoush provided a refreshing crunch and herbaceous brightness that balanced the richness of the lamb. The preserved lemon labneh was a tangy and creamy accompaniment, enhancing the overall flavor profile with its citrusy notes. It paired perfectly with the bold spices and earthiness of the d'Arry's The Original Shiraz Grenache 2020.

For dessert I had the petit small bites. This is a perfect option if it's your first visit or if you're not sure what to order. The petit four plate of four sweet bites was a delightful conclusion to the meal. Each mini dessert was perfectly portioned, leaving just enough room for that sweet ending without feeling overly full. Despite the small cake selection, every bite was bursting with flavor. Of the petit four bites, the orange cardamom sponge was my absolute favourite! The sponge was moist, the compote a rich citrus delight, and the pistachio croquant provided a satisfying crunch. A harmonious blend of flavors and textures made this dessert a true standout.

The service was friendly, knowledgeable and highly professional.

The atmosphere inside the 19th century homestead was warm and full of hygge with views of the surrounding green rolling hills and vines of the McLaren Vale wine region.

I cannot wait for my next visit.

Ate here for Mother’s Day yesterday… food absolutely incredible, views-just gorgeous! The female French waiter quite rude and curt.disappointing. Would’ve expected friendliness from such an establishment. They really need clean, simple uniforms too… would’ve got a five if both of them were improved….

Go to Darrys often.
Darrys is my favourite restaurant.
Cannot go wrong.
Fantastic staff / service and atmosphere.
Superb / divine food, great flavours, succulent dishes. We had brisket for entree, beef for mains. Every dish we have had over the years has been amazing.
Thank you

Food was executed well. Didn’t love all the courses but enjoyed the experienced. I would say though that the decor needs to be updated. Didn’t align with the modern food style. I would see similar decor at an Italian pizzeria on login street. Didn’t match the sophistication of the cube.

One of the most memorable dining experiences of my life. Visiting from Melbourne, my friends and I spent a whole day at d’Arenberg - The Cube, d’Arry’s Verandah, and the cellar door. The property has so, so much to offer - but our dining experience was spectacular. The food was outstanding, the service warm, local and friendly, and the wines were, of course, delightful. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience, and made thoughtful recommendations and adjustments to our degustation as we went along. However, the nicest part came at the end. We had a late lunch booking, and being from out of town we weren’t aware that ordering a return Uber to Adelaide was going to be trouble. But Jo from the restaurant was so accommodating in arranging a taxi for us, even if it did take an hour. While we waited, she entertained us with friendly conversation and a complimentary digestif to round out our day. We felt terrible holding back the staff after what I’m sure was a busy day, but they were very understanding of our circumstances. Overall, our day at d’Arenberg was the highlight of our weekend - highly recommend dining at d’Arry’s, the degustation menu with their signature lobster dish was breathtaking. A must-visit in McLaren Vale.

Our group of 4 enjoyed fabulous lunch at D'Arry's. We all had different courses and we all agreed the food was perfect. The signature Lobster entree was the standout for me although others in the group may disagree! The setting and service was professional yet relaxed, befitting the wonderful location. Highly recommend.

We had a fabulous lunch here with friends. The Lobster starter was soooo delicious, the Lamb was beautifully cooked and very flavourful, then the Passionfruit Souffle - what a treat!
If you are in the area, this restaurant is a must visit!
