Comida Hahndorf

We had an amazing vegetarian fiesta meal. The paella was delicious and the other smaller plates were also enjoyable. Service by Adele was great. She made sure we were well looked after. I would definitely go there again.

Great brekkie here. The coffee is wonderful and the service is excellent. Comfy cushions and a great atmosphere. And the wait staff are really attractive. Come for the waiters, stay for the food.

Very nice, friendly staff. Found out about them via Facebook that they were not dictating mask wearing when everyone else was. Nice to find a business that puts people over profit. Would highly recommend. Food was really nice as well. Will he going back in time to come…

We visit Comida fairly regularly, either as a whole family or on date-night. The food, range of flavour variety, fragrances, service, relaxed but punctual pace.all of it is absolutely reliable and surprising, every time. Our family particularly love their balanced use of seeds and herbs to enrich and accent underlying flavours in a non-formulaic way throughout the entire menu. Comida is a reminder that plate-sharing is a culinary journey and there is no monotonal colour-use in this palette. Definitely worthy of any SA favourites list. Amazing.

Croquettes were nice and crispy. My patatas bravas was very different to what I had last time unfortunately. Undercooked and the miss the original sauce. Didn't enjoy them sadly. Enjoyed my Spanish white. Service was great, the food just really different to what I remember the last two visits. Hopefully was just an off night, wasn't a good experience taking my friend to show him what I usually love

Everything we tried was really delicious. The corn ribs were a huge hit. Great atmosphere. I'm excited to come back!

Amazing food, so delicious and interesting. House made Kombucha was divine. Service was excellent. Everything we ate was such good quality. Will be back.possibly tomorrow!

This restaurant looked welcoming and the staff were very efficient.
The food was great- enjoyed all the small and large tapas- we had mussels, whitebait and prawns, followed by slow roasted lamb shoulder- all delicious.
The waiter was attentive, knew the menu and was helpful with suggestions.
Couldn’t fault it.

Highly recommend having a fiesta at Comida Hahndorf. The food and wine selection was expansive and catered well for vegetarians. The service was excellent.

The food as always was amazing, my 1st choice of main had sold out at 1230.lunch. I dont eat meat so this made my choice difficult. I had to have entrees instead of a main meal. Not enough staff on for the back lawned area. Long waits for drinks.

Probably the biggest waste of time and the worst possible way to spend our Sunday. I feel for the business because that was the worst experience I’ve had in Hahndorf food wise and hospitality wise. We ordered and it took over an hour to get us the food and it was burnt and scorched and the portions definitely not worth it.
Save your time and money and go somewhere else it’s a joke.

Good Food Good Drink The Service Could Have And Should Have Been Better And I Think The Menu Should Have Been All Day.

You get a modern, up-market dining experience at Spanish restaurant Comida. Warm tones inside and looking onto lush gardens outside there is an inviting energy wherever you get seated. The food and beverages are fantastic! Food is lovingly and thoughtfully prepared and the house-made beverages have been carefully considered. The kitchen uses the freshest ingredients and sources them from local farmers/producers. We ordered the vegetable paella, a raw zucchini salad and broccoli side dish. To drink we ordered a spritz and red whine sangria (they also have a lighter white available). Each dish arrived beautifully presented with vibrant colours you expect from Spanish cuisine. Each plate had distinctly different flavour profiles, but together made for a bright, reasonably light and zesty lunch. We enjoyed the mixup of textures on each plate and the combination of raw, blanched and slow cooked tender vegetables all three provided. Comida staff are friendly and helpful; happily adapted a dish for us to be nut free due to an allergy. Our dining experience at Comida was lovely. Everyone we’ve recommended them to has also come back with rave reviews. Perfect venue for a date, special occasion or work dinner. They even cater and host weddings.

Have been to Comida 4 times and loved the food, especially the Paella while overlooking the peaceful lush Gardens both daytime and night with the beautiful string lights strung across the trees. The Service and presentation is spot on also. Our last visit in mid Jan 2022 though was just a little disappointing. The signature dish Paella was not as tasty as previous times, the chicken sparse and the Paella oilier than usual. Maybe an off day for the Chef, or short staffed like everyone is suffering out there. We'll go back though and give it another go as we loved it previous times.

Exceptional food, great service and a really nice relaxed environment. Been here twice and couldn't rate it high enough. The garden out the back is a perfect place to enjoy the great food

The staff were super friendly and efficient. The drinks list was huge with some awesome twists on traditional drinks.

Great atmosphere, especially courtyard space. We had the lunch menu, crusty and soft bread (thumbs up for that) entrees was delicious and came out timely. Unfortunately, mains took over 1 hour to get to us.

Overall a pleasant experience.
