Comida Hahndorf

My memory of Comida is that of the excellent friendly informal service, pinto and small selection of good quality plates at the Adelaide market. It feels more formal now and the foods are presented prettier than before to cater to a different clientele at different location.

Came here to celebrate my birthday, three of us. We had brunch with cocktails. Fabulous food, generous serves, beautifully presented. We would happily return. On a practical level, plenty of parking at the rear. Thank you Comida, a really lovely start to my day.

Wonderful experience from the moment we stepped inside. Incredible lamb crumpet and fantastic paella. Thanks for a very memorable night!

Fabulous entree with white anchovy lentil salad. Took me back to spain. Set up for great expectation but main course of lamb shoulder was tasty but shoulder meat was shredded and reconstructed which spoilt lovely sticky shoulder texture when slow cooked. I wouldn't order this again. Unfortunately the kale leaves in the artichoke side salad we ordered has soil in it but the artichoke was delicious. Dessert was back to superb with creme Catalan done to perfection. Everything tasted good and we enjoyed our lunch but starter and dessert was outstanding. Waiter was fantastic and offered free coffee for the soil which is a nice gesture. Great coffee. Would go back again but prob go for the paella not lamb shoulder.

Comida is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in the Adelaide Hills. The food is consistently great, lots of vegetarian options and staff always really welcoming.

Exceptional as always! So thankful to have a local hills restaurant that has better food than most CBD places. Love the garden out the back and finding just picked herbs, lettuces, etc.on the plates. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all lovely. Never tried the paella as the other dishes are definitely a notch above. Comida is the hidden highlight of Hahndorf!

Delicious food, nice yet relaxed environment, and friendly staff. Our kids enjoy exploring the garden in the back.perfect space for a family brunch.

We stopped in for some breakfast on a Saturday morning and were seated and served without problem. We decided to eat here because it was slightly different than the same breakfast fare that all the other breakfast spots offered. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the heavier flavours were nicely balanced with some fresh and tasty greens, and their menu items met our dietary requirements without needing to make any substitutions. For reference, we had the Tortilla and Ocean Trout mains, and shared a side of baked beans. We would definitely recommend Comida to others who want an adult breakfast that’s a bit different from what every other local spot is offering.

Paella was dry in taste and visibly. We asked whether it was cooked fresh and the waitress said yes freshly cooked the night before. Baffled. $26 for leftovers. Server was extremely pushy for us to order alcoholic drinks after telling them noone was drinking. Super uncomfortable experience.

Food was okay but expected better as per the price. My friend got a plastic ring in his food. Staff was apologetic and it was taken off our bill. Paella in particular was good and that was the only good dish we tasted. Portion size for "large platters' was just enough for one person. The place becomes noisy soon from the echos and chatters.

Had dinner with friends at Comida. We let the waitress choose the menu and had shared dishes. We all loved every mouthful! Customer service was outstanding

Absolutely gorgeous venue with lovely staff and atmosphere! We went for my boyfriends birthday and they were extremely accomodating- setting a table for us both inside and outside to account for weather! The food was delicious, designed to share and definitely more than enough if you get a couple of entrees and a main to share! Kept some leftovers for a work lunch and just as delicious warmed up after? Highly recommend for some delicious authentic paella at a great price to share!

Delicious lunch: the fiesta: lamb empanada (light crisp pastry with lots of lamb filling), ceviche with raspberry, jamon on toast with tomato (great combo of flavours), chorizo and chicken paella; patatas bravas with chilli jam and cos salad. Excellent service from Harry; cheesecake by Bec Randell; sitting on the deck on a sunny afternoon. Marvellous!

Don’t do a specific cuisine of you have no idea how to cook it.
Could have cooked the food better in my Kitchen.

This place was solely worth the drive, the food is world class and the staff are amazing, they really do make you feel special and they are obviously legends of the industry.

Myself and 6 friends had lunch at Comida. It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Harry looked after us and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was the best. He was friendly, informative and nothing was too much trouble. He made sure we were well looked after and has a lovely manner with guests. He was wonderful. We enjoyed everything, we were seated in a beautiful relaxing spot in the garden and the food was delicious as was the Sangria. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience Harry and staff.

Had a beautiful lunch at the decking area. Very lovely staff and the food is absolutely amazing.

Yummy modern Spanish food. More quality & creativity than we expected. Definitely will come again.
