Chinatown Cafe reviews
66Authentic malaysian cooking. Good price and large potions. Wait time is very short as well. Ordered dry wanton noodle and it was great.
5 stars for SPEEDY service, 2 stars for quality and flavour - laksa broth tasty, but wonton soup tasted like dishwater, chicken curry average. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
The good: If you like quality fresh Hong Kong Chinese food you'll understand why this place is always packed - even though there is competition all around. They're fast, efficient and very consistent.
The bad: not so comfortable, crowded, noisy, bit of a soup Nazi vibe
Would I go back: yes - I have been going here for 20 years like many others.
Putting out a coop's worth of chicken rice every 20 minutes or so, they are perhaps the most efficient lunch service this side of the equator. What's more, is that they have continued to offer delicious, well-portioned meals at great price point over the many years we have returned.
Great veggie pho and vietnamese rice noodle with veggie spring rolls. They also have extra sauces and toppings that you can add yourself, which I like.
We enjoyed lunch at Dumpling King. The meals are great in taste and value. It is a great pity that the complimentary green tea was no longer available at the China town outlet. What a pity,
I love Chinatown Cafe. They are the number one place for laksa in Adelaide. You won't find a better balanced or tastier coconut broth around. Staff are always quick and efficient too
Always on point, go through the entire menu! This laksa is certainly one of my favourites! The noodles here are also something to rave about. This cafe is high turn over and has a vibrant, hustle bustle buzzing atmosphere. Friendly service. GO HERE!
Eaten here for 14 years! Dumpling soup is amazing! I get it every time and I’m never hungry for hours. Which they could use fresh noodles everything else is great!
Adelaide stalwart, cheap, fast, good - get the chicken rice (breast with asian greens) - the two chilli sauces make this dish
Very fast food. Dont expect the highest quality ingredients but its affordable and good for students. You will not be able to sit and talk though
Hearty homestyle food. Quick service and reasonable prices. No lingering here that's how they keep the prices down. Not licenced. I would definitely recommend.
Multiple asian cuisines coexisting under 1 roof. My favourite being dumpling king but u coukd have a mix of the various dishes on offer all inbone go
Great food very fast service, the minimum spend of $15 on EFTPOS is a bit of an outdated rule and should be reduced to $10 as most dishes are around $11 anyway.
My first eat out place since I touched down Adelaide in 2015. Ordered chinese fried rice and char keow teow. Bland and tasteless sums up my experience. I day dreamt the USA Masterchef junior sure can beat the cook single handed. Did not managed to finish my food (not a food waster but forgive me). Not going back unless Gordon Ramsay pays a visit.
One of the best value for money eats in Adelaide. A visit to Chinatown always includes a stop off to have lunch here. Hainanese Chicken, Kway Teow and my favourite menu item, Laksa. All food is served quick and packed full of flavour. @cwade_creative
In 20 years eating at this place I have never been disappointed. The food is superb - service fast - as is the table the around - this is a place where you fuel up and move on out pretty quickly. It is not a place to linger.
Had a huge feed at dumpling King. Simply fantastic. Been going there for years. Best food in Adelaide.
Have been here for years and it's been amazingly good, cheap and consistent. My only gripe is that they're closed on weekends. I would gladly pay a weekend surcharge for them to be open on Saturdays and Sundays
