Chinatown Cafe reviews
66 Fast, delicious and cheap! All time fav
had the hainanese chicken and rice with laksa broth and mi goreng
Most Asian outlets available. Food is awesome, price is okay, dining hall is busy but adds to the Asian dining experience. Worth going to for a well made and good valued meal. There's both restaurants and shops within the centre.
Always cheap reliable Singaporean/Malay food. Clean environment and fast, efficient service. Their curry laksa and chicken rice is as good as what you get in Singapore. Never miss an opportunity to visit this place when I'm in town.
One of the be day places ive tried for Fried rice & have a cup of tea while you. Good prompt service.
I have been here at least 50 times and each time I go I try to order something new but I just love their chicken rice so much! The staff are lovely, I always have a great time eating here!
A weekly bowl of wonton noodle soup in this place is my secret vice. I have been eating here for over 40 years and never tire of the atmosphere, the hubbub and the people. A walk through the markets and lunch in the Food Plaza.
Had a lovely meal of noodles with chicken and seafood. I ate a bit too much hot curry sauce and was coughing and sweating. The owner got me a bottle of cold water from the fridge and refused payment.
I have now been here 6 times and thoroughly enjoyed each meal.
A must place to eat.
Meals are well priced
Situated right next to Adelaide Central Market, the Asian Australian town offers a wide variety of Asian dishes and shops to suit your adventurous palate.:)
Authentic, authentic, authentic. Cant get O/S due to covid so this is the next best thing. Reasonable pricing, great range of menus, a holiday at home if only for lunch.
Cheap, fast and delicious Singaporean/Malaysian food.
In particular, the Hainanese chicken rice and Laska are brilliant.
Have been coming here for many years getting the same dish every time (Singapore fried noodles) and I've never had a bad meal ever, quick service as well
Still has a minimum for card transactions, what a joke in these covid times. They refused to take an order for $10.50 because they have a minimum of $15.00. Nothing on the menu is more than $15 so they are just trying to make you spend more when using credit. Have been going there for a long time but no longer. Give them a miss until they catch up with times!
Possibly the best chicken rice i have ever had in my life, Highly recommend for asian cuisine although it does feel a bit cramped inside but the outside seating is good and food comes very quickly.
Tasty foods, many varieties of Chinese foods with reasonable price. Great atmosphere of Adelaide's Central Market is a big plus here.
I continually come back to this place in Chinatown, adjacent to the central markets. The Hainanese chicken rice is their best dish, at a reasonable $12.00. Service is excellent, the food comes out virtually as soon as you've sat down.
First time visiting in 2 years. Prices are still very reasonable. The laksa is meant to be the best in Adelaide, though I tried other things today. The curry chicken was tender and well proportioned. The wonton noodles were delicious and flavourful. As usual, their sauce station delivered great flavours to complement the meals. The staff were friendly and smiling, definitely brought value to the experience. Absolutely worth a visit, just note that they close around 4pm.
Hainanese Chicken Rice. That is all you need to know about this place. Arguably their signature dish. This place will leave you super satisfied with their generous servings. I've had a few other dishes here that are great but I always find myself going back for the Chicken Rice. Simple and consistent is what this place does really well. Will be back again soon!
Price and speed of service is good but the quality of dishes is very poor. The rice came out in chunks and doesn't taste good at all. The worst dish I have ever had.
Food was delicious. But you had to order then they called your number out and you went and picked it up. There were about a dozen different countries to chose from from different little shop stalls
