Chicken Chef reviews
77Nothing special and a somewhat rude chef. Chops again where rated much better than they tasted.
Best chips ever, I can even eat them cold.all there food it very yum, made with love and they have been doing it for a long time the chickens really moist and gravy is to die for if you're ever near a chicken chef you have to stop yum yum yummo
I've been going to Chicken Chef for 37yrs. Food is of such high quality and consistently. It got the award of Best Chips in Australia for a reason
Banana fritter was above average. Good tasting chips for a takeaway shop, lots of small chips/battered crumbs in the bag though.
Good amount of seasoning on the chips today, not too salty.
The hot chicken roll is a bit heavy on the seasoning, and you should probably eat with a salad to cut through.
Overall, worthwhile trying considering they have been voted best chips in Australia, and the chips serving is generous.
Chips 10/10
Chicken - Breast was very dry
Salad - eating defrost Greek salad is definitely not our preference.
The food was disgusting and the female staffs are so rude. They act as if they are paying for our food.
Never have what they say on the board! Then they tell you they don’t have time to make a roll…. Then to find hair in the schnitzel pack! Won’t go there again!
Staff argued when we noted that part of the order was missing they stated we did not order it, unfortunately the experience here was very unpleasant and unprofessional
Staff argued with other customers and uber eats drivers in front of other customers in store
I rang ahead as I was on a dead line and lady on phone said tell them your name when you get to counter. On arrival I said I rang ahead and my name and paid. The price for chips n gravy was $9.90 (everywhere else $5 to $7) which I thought was steep. There was no point calling ahead either as when I paid I joined the queue of people waiting for food (10 mins instore), thus putting me behind schedule. Service was luke warm at best also.
Good food, nicely cooked, for how many people that were there quick service with great quality still
Bought chips from “Australia’s best chip shop” 2 days ago and they were the worst chips ever. Greasy, crispy end bits, only a few you could eat. A complete waste of money. Even the seagulls would have knocked them back!
Chips were really good, the pieces were pretty small but I don't mind it considering the smaller chips are often crispier
Called up and ordered a chicken and some chips got told to come in. Went to store and they said we don't have your order you called the wrong place. Called the number back I Called and got the same chicken Chef and were told they were out of chickens. Not really a fan of being stuffed around. Food is good but service is ordinary
Went to chicken chef in Blair athol after they were announced best chips in SA. Not even close tasted ok but was all left over crispy bits. No good size chips at all to enjoy. Wasn’t happy after waiting at least an hr to get them
I was not happy with the Australia famous chips that I had today in a family meal. I got a large bag of greasy broken end chips.
The chicken and the salads were really great.
Good Quantity with fine taste (Y) and also worth the money (Y) (Y)
The chicken curry was something different and unique to me. The authentic Aussie rice and curry indeed. But Australia's best hot chips? Thats overhyped I guess. Fries are really good but the best? Not sure about that.
Always great chips, very busy place because they're so good. The carpark is a bit of a shambles though, lazy people parking on the footpath all the time.
You online price in your website shows large chicken for $17.90 and when I bought the same from the shop, charged me $19.90. Asked them why and just said the prices are different. No apology, no matching price. If you want to show something in your website and charge a different amount in store, it’s against the rules of advertising. So please change it ASAP or I will report it to the ACA
Thought I’d try it after hearing the hype and made a drive out with my boy, both of us ended up disappointed. Schnitzel was dry and the chips felt like they were yesterday’s leftovers. After hearing about the best chips around, can honestly say I’ve had much better at Oportos, won’t be trying again.
