Botanic Gardens Restaurant

We had high hopes for this dining experience, but in all honesty.pretty average. The price is reasonably high compared to other restraunts in Adelaide. Where some of them don't offer such a unique dining experience, better quality can definitely be found. Where there is a focus on Indigenous ingredients, a great number of the courses repeated in flavour making the experience rather bland and frankly a little boring.
This experience was average for the price and I honestly wouldnt recommend to others. Staff were great, atmosphere so-so with garden walkers gawking through the windows, but food, disapointing post a couple of plates where the novelty wore off. The suggested wine pairing, not bad, but not great given the price with some of the wines repeating. I would have expected better, particularly for the price Of 170 PH for local wines. A great try, but missed the mark. After waiting so long to try this restraunt it was a bit of a let down.

Totally elegant restaurant not for the faint hearted. The creative process this team must go through daily is really shown in the food and non alcoholic pairing. For anyone looking to spoil their special someone this is the place! ($13 for water for 2 people though is a bit ripe considering the price of everything else)

The rating is a bit low. If you like western food or travel to Adelaide, you must come here once. The environment and dishes are good.

We finally got to the Botanic, and you will need at least 4 hours to complete the entire dinner course. The dishes were clever, reminded us of the now defunct Orana’s fare, but I felt that a few of the dishes were overly salted, whereby the chef’s intended message was completely overwhelmed by the saltiness of some of the dishes, which was a let down. The “humble potato”, Marron, emu and the crocodile savoury dishes were great standouts and the petit fours (especially the kangaroo tendon and shiitake mushroom square) were a very nice finish to the night. Floor service was very attentive and were excellent.

This is not a restaurant to be taken lightly. At 4 hours and the best part of 30 dishes, this is an experience that will leave you doubting that you have ever really eaten before.
The matched drinks are a must (as is a willingness to take instructions).
Service is outstanding, and despite the grumpy face, the head chef was a delight.

Dined here last night at the chefs table. It was a truly extraordinary experience. The food left us speechless, giving all of our senses something at each course. The wine pairing was perfection and really left an impression. The service was impeccable, wish I could name all of them with praise. Thank you, Restaurant Botanic.

We had a magical time here. We changed our holiday itinerary to get a booking here and I’m glad we did. All the staff were fantastic, but Alma the restaurant gets a special mention for looking after us so well. The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely looking over the garden with the busy kitchen near by. If you plan to go, don’t book anything after as it may take a bit longer than expected and you will be full. I also recommend the non alcoholic drinks pairing to accompany your meal - its a separate experience all together.

One of the best place to enjoy dinner in Adelaide. Ambiance is really good, staffs are friendly and welcoming and food is really good.

I've just seen a post on facebook about this restaurant, promoting it, and it has reminded me. I am still waiting for a reply from 3 years ago.
I was looking forward to the dining experience they speak of and wanted to treat my daughter for her birthday with something special but unfortunately never got to enjoy it as they did not reply to us. (I made numerous attempts to contact them)
Obviously our dietary requirements were too hard for them to cater for. I was very disappointed! One would think a simple, yes we can or no we can't cater for you would be the polite thing to do.

Hard to describe. Only dine here if you have an adventurous palette. Some of the dishes will challenge you but clearly so much artistry is embodied into each one. The kitchen is on view to the diners and the precision and teamwork displayed here is amazing. Highly recommended.

Incredibly interesting food with gorgeous presentation. Staff were amazing too! The wine was way too expensive. Overall great and unique experience but value for money was not there.

I dined here in June 2022. There is no dining experience to compare this too. Delicious, flavourful, beautiful, creative, unique. I doubt you will have a more memorable experience than this one.

If the Michelin Guide ever made its way to Australia, this restaurant would have at least 2 Stars. Excellent concept and execution. If you’re a gourmet foodie, you’re lucky enough to find a spot, and can afford the AUD 300 per person, this 20+ courses, 4 hours long menu will delight you.

One of the greatest expiriance I have had. Our server Tim made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was such an experience! We booked the chef's table and all the kitchen staff were friendly and made small interactions with is that made us feel a little bit special. Watching this kitchen work was very interesting and made the whole experience more of a show. Will definitely be back again and recommend to all my friends and family. Thanks for making my weekend in Adelaide one of the best I have had!

Recently awarded Australia Best Restaurant 2022 at the Gourmet Traveller's awards night. Amazing culinary experience showcasing the best Australian cousine has to offer with a wine list to match. The menu changes regularly and is a set 20+ courses so please allow up to 4 hours+. Amazing restaurant that you have to experience to beleive.

I spent a wonderful evening here with my husband for my 40th birthday. Seated at the chef's table, we had an incredible dinner and a show! The service was outstanding. I highly recommend Restaurant Botanic.

Floor staff were really good. Not worth the high expense. Manager couldn’t help out with an issue post the dinner and staff gave mixed messages. Terrible system of paying at booking. Some of the food and drinks were great but wouldn’t go back or recommend.

I have been to many great restaurants around the world, but nothing compares to the culinary experience today at the botanic restaurant. Every dish was carefully considered, innovative, and perfectly balanced. Presentation was nothing short of food art. The way the surrounding gardens where interlaced with every dish made for an immersive experience in a stunning setting. Service was attentive, friendly and personal. Very, very impressed.
