The Big Rig reviews
68Enjoyed reading all about the history of the oil and gas exploration in the Roma area. Loved going up the tower.
A fantastic place to visit while in Roma, must do, go up the Big Rig and the view is wonderful, takes a couple of hours to do the self guided tour.
Great food at the cafe- super tasty. Plus the information at Big Rig is wonderful.
A must stop at Roma if you're staying or just passing!
Unfortunately not open but lovely walking around outside & seeing historical buildings & machinery
This is a great place to go and see really enjoyed it the night show was great and the staff are friendly and helpful and great variety of souvenirs
We only did the evening show but that left me feeling I wish we'd had time to investigate during the day as well. Do both if time permits!
Fantastic feature in Roma with lots of information about the oil and gas industry.
New observation tower with great views over Roma
Really enjoyed the night show. It was a nice touch to offer a shot of port and to keep the souvenir shot glass.
Great place and friendly staff. Gives a great view of the Coal Seam Gas exploration and development of the fields around the area.
They had souvenirs reflecting the geographical and economic background. The centre had other attractions such as the big tower etc.
Haven't been to the show yet - hope to get there soon
But the info-centre is good, staff there are helpful and friendly, cafe on site too
BEHIND The Big Rig!
Please note, it was closed the day we visited. (Public holiday)
There is a hidden gem!
Beautiful little spot to pull up! Plenty of shade, lots of parks. A covered kids park, with toddler area and swings. Clean and decent toilet block. Shaded picnic tables all around. Your right next to a beautiful little creek and looks like a little train ride. Highly recommended pulling off here!
When ever I pass through Roma I always call in to the Big Rig coffee shop for a coffee and cake or a sandwich. Nice staff good coffee and food and reasonably priced.
For someone visiting the area there is a goldmine of information available. An easy place to recommend.
Mitch presented a very informative overview of the history of oil gas & water in the Roma district. Once the new observation tower is completed this will add to make an awesome experience!
Staff at the information centre are so lovely and helpful! Heaps of useful brochures and maps too.
A wealth of local knowledge and Diane is a true blue wonder. All the answers and advice to help you plan a great stay in the region.
Very interesting place to learn about the history of Roma. Well laid out & will be fantastic when the high level viewing platform is open.
We did the self guided tour & night show. Interesting place & lovely grounds. Hubby & I enjoyed the pirt that comes with the night show.
Dropped in for breakfast but disappointed in service. Orders after ours came out first, waited over 20 minutes for toast!
