The have some great exhibits and they are always changing so it's worth keeping an eye on the calender to see what's on. They also run workshops and have activities for kids. Entry to the exhibits is free but you can and should make a donation when visiting. The shop has some lovely gifts that are reasonably priced and there is a cafe on site. Well worth a visit if you are in town and like art

Cairns Art Gallery - absolutely beautiful local and regional works of art right now! Free entry. Air Conditioned. Free baggage check. Easy to see all in well under an hour. Very professional and tasteful gallery. Definitely a very positive and worthwhile experience. Highly recommend visiting. Jan 2020.

Great 3 floor art gallery with plenty to look at and a gift shop on your way out. And it's free entry

We were lucky enough to stroll past the Art Gallery when we arrived into Cairns. The intimate gallery was showing Patricia Piccinini’s world renowned pieces which was such a fantastic surprise! Her show was of course exceptional and the gallery itself was of a nice size and was well cared for.

Free entry was also fantastic and the attached gift shop was lovely, showcasing lots of handcrafted items and pieces, many of which are from FNQ local artisans.

Would recommend if you’re visiting Cairns and checking ahead for what’s being shown/which artists are exhibiting.
