Cairns Art Gallery reviews
65For a community gallery it is very good. The curator has a good sense of style in selecting pieces. There is one piece that should be considered a masterpiece.
I love this place. It is a great place to see new exhibits, art classes for kids and adults. Check out their gift shop, you might find unique items.
Lovely little exhibition space. Staff are kind and very welcoming.
Located in the heart of cairns city this place is a gem bag you really should visit when coming to cairns.
Came here to take a whizz 2 years ago, ended up visiting the entire area. Toilet facilities excellent! Great displays and friendly staff. Would recommend
Great facility and beautiful building. Check out the Archibald Prize paintings but be quick because it finishes after the May Day weekend.
Great building, lovely staff & wonderfully presented exhibition.
Check cost of drinks / food though at cafe out front.
Dearest coffee in Oz & not so good anyway.
Lovely building and interesting exhibits. For my taste, I would have preferred a few more paintings over installations and video art
My children and I and my husband really enjoyed the Cairns art gallery and recently, we saw the Archibald exhibit. For a small space it certainly packs a lot of art go enjoy it children are welcome
Great displays over two levels. It was brilliant to see First Nations artist displayed throughout the gallery. The curation was excellent. The customer service at the gallery was very pleasant too. The women at the front counter we very helpful and informative regarding the exhibitions. They were also able to provide information about the artists who created some of the items in the gift shop.
They have the Archibald winners displayed there, had to book online, but there was no need, because when we arrived at our allocated time, no booking reference required, we donned our face masks and strolled through. Great exibition
Always a pleasant oasis of calm and culture in the city. The gift shoppe is always stocked with lovely and thoughtful gifts.art.books.and more
Great art gallery with gift shop (some quality jewellery and other gifts). I'm impressed with the range of exhibitions over the year, visiting from larger more established galleries. Local talent curated in the attic - easy to get around with the lift and plenty to look at - you can do it in half an hour or 90 minutes depending on how long you want to chill there. Free entry - well worth a visit if you are in Cairns
Lovely place to check out some local art. Staff was friendly. Tip: would be great to have some blow up prints of the displayed artwork.
We loved this beautiful building and some of the Prize paintings were amazing.but the Winner.umm not so much.all according to taste I suppose we thought some of the others were much better.the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Well worth the visit.
2020 Archibald Prize in the Art Gallery Cairns. Interesting paintings and performance. Highly recommended to visit it by 2nd May 2020.
Love the exhibits, lay out and atmosphere.what is even better just heard the Old Court House is becoming a gallery too. EXCITING!
A really interesting and diverse collection of artwork, textiles and creative works. Three storeys, each with a different theme, and a very enjoyable old building. The shop also has a large number of indigenous art and souvenirs that aren't tacky sweatshop replicas.
A great place to spend leisure time at. It is very well maintained, has great art and even a spade to make your own art and a lot of resources to do so! This place is free to visit and is located at a very accessible place.
Awesome exhibition of Sidney Nolan's Ned Kelly perspective as well as other collections. All for free
