Cairns Art Gallery reviews
65Free entry! Recommend to go as they have three floors with three different exhibitions. I love the one “Colonialism and Nature Painting” by Ellis Rowan as it shows the nature of the Queensland area.
A medium sized but very interesting local gallery focussing on Cairns history, culture and First Nations art
Beautiful experience. Our first Cairns experience and the art work informed us about the character of Cairns. A photographic exhibition that focused on Yarrabah, an artist from Thursday Island initially but now a Cairn’s resident, had executed some wonderful lino cut prints and the lovely fabrics on display in the gift shop spoke of a modern colourful tropical city.
A wonderful regional gallery. Great exhibitions and a delightful gift shop. Fantastic use of this lovely old building.
It's a small art gallery close to Esplanade, and free to visit. Good idea to drop by adjacent Court House Gallery as well. Some nifty products in shop.
Staff were lovely and helpful. For a small regional gallery was very accessible and had a fantastic array of exhibits, an eclectic collection.
A Must-Visit Gallery impeccable and spoiled surroundings and unique display of Art from local to international artists ️
The Cairns Art Gallery is a MUST DO when visiting. Fabulous service from staff. Free entry, absolutely beautifully done and lovely little gift shop. Stunning art works. Will definitely be back. Thank you
A great place to visit
Interesting art work on display
And as a bonus it is free to visit
Aircon which is great with the weather here
Free gallery, worth a visit. There is also paid activities such as art using recycled material.
Every time I go to this Gallery I always see something really cool. I Actually feel my synapses firing. Many national and international quality exhibitions. Love the diversity:)
What a beautiful gallery! The building is thoughtfully designed and chic and the art on display was interesting and informative and moving. We got our favorite gifts in the gallery’s gift shop, including a couple of prints of some of the work we loved in the galleries. A treasure in Cairns!
The architecture is great, the place is well maintained. The young lady at the reception is so lovely and warm. Gold coin donation. It's a good place to spend 15-30mins in the middle of the day when it's too hot/ rainy outside.
Unfortunately, there were only limited areas open on the day I visited. Hence, only 3 stars were given. Hopefully, it will be fully open next time
Amazing showcase of the indigenous australian history and their culture. The musuem has 3 storeys with well planned interior. Absolutely loved the interior and the concept of the museum. Just takes 30 minutes to briefly go through the artifacts and paintings. Do visit the museum when in Cairns.
The exhibition we saw was from the Torres Strait where I spent time working and it was fantastic.
土曜、日曜日は殆どがお休みか早く終わってしまうのにここは開いていてゆっくり涼みながら見学できてとても良いです。
Most of the museums are closed or close early on Saturdays and Sundays, but this one is open and very nice to visit while relaxing and cooling down.
Great experience. It is free to enter.
Good collection.
Comfortable place, A/C, toilets. Friendly staff.
Truly sacred space with years of history. Marble, wood and high ceilings complement the colonial columns.
Very cool air con. Kids art class only $21 for 90 mins - book online.
FREE entry a bonus. Worth a visit for 30 mins
