Algester Medical Centre - Bulk Billing Doctors Brisbane Southside reviews
75I recently scheduled an appointment for partner who had a work injury. We had been seen by Dr. Suleman who was very professional in assessing the injury. He even offered to lodge a workcover claim on our behalf. Given that it was the first time we had lodged a WC claim, Dr. Suleman took the time out to explain the procedure, what the forms are and what steps to follow from there. The receptionists were also very helpful in explaining the WC process to us. I’m very satisfied with the duty of care and customer service that was provided. Well done Reception and well done Dr. Suleman! Thank you for treating my partner. We will be coming back for further appointments. My partner and I thank the clinic staff!
Had a telehealth appointment, was told my lungs needed listening to and they booked me a appointment. Just before my appointment they called to say the doctor has advised she wasn't coming in and they could book me in again for next week.
Doctors is excellent specially my doctor L. Abbassy I am very happy with the service highly recommended
I went for a check up on the 25/08/2023 during after hours. The doctor told me if I come during work hours, I don’t have to pay. But if I come on the weekend or during after hours, I would have to pay. Then on 28/08/2023 during working hours I went to see the same doctor for a result. I saw a customer and the doctor talking in a different language and that customer didn’t pay. But for my turn, the doctor charged me. I also had concession. I don’t appreciate being treated differently. I want to be treated equal to everyone else.
They are always running so behind. It was tolerable as a bulk billing clinic but now its not it's pretty poor service for buck
Everyone, including students and private insurance please aware of their “small” consultation fee of 41.60 cents out of pocket. They had changed their policy recently and really disappointed me. From care for people now they have turned into care for money ahead! Never comeback again!
My wife went to see Dr Suleman, his attitude is horrible, he has no patience at all, he kept ask my wife to leave without asking her symptoms. My wife was very sick yesterday, he does not care about it at all.he only care about his money.never go there again.
My family and I have been coming here for about 4 years. Recently I came in for a GP appointment for a viral infection which was fine. However my follow-up telehealth appointment was terrible. They failed to read my blood test results correctly - this resulted in me developing dangerous 40+ degree fevers and extreme lethargy.
I had to go to another medical centre only to be told that my blood test had obvious infection markers and low iron - and that I should have been started on antibiotics and iron tablets immediately.
This can only be described as negligence. Sad to watch the quality of care decline over the past few years.
Receptionist in algester did my transactions only to get told that I’m not lodging a work cover claim and wasn’t understanding and looked like she ain’t know what she was doing. Old lady but though I was patient my doctor came out and said I’m only meant to pay $40 under Medicare. So that day I was charged $89 and the $40 on top. But claim back through Medicare. Which leaves me and my family with nothing to spare for the week until next pay. Sheeeesh man money don’t grow on trees these days. The struggles are real these days. They should ask the doctor what the appointment is, if they’re unsure. Me, my daughter and husband is one of their loyal go to for dr Emerson, he’s amazing but the Receptionist can be a bit too much?
Some good Dr's but schedules suck, 30 minutes over appointment time.
Update- now charging to see the Dr, allowed to book online without any notification that it would be a charged appointment. Dishonest way of doing business.
Nice local medical centre. GP saw me as a first time patient and bulk billed me. Reception staff super friendly.
Dr. Amin is a lovely and gentle Dr. I have been seeing him for 10 years. I have now moved 40 mins away, but I still drive over here to see him.
Considering how busy it is and the diversity of patients this practice is exceptional, my only gripes with how rude the patient's are to the staff people need to remember the staff are human and your issues are valid but no more important than anyone elses
Rubbish. Fraudulent medical practice. Will hang up on you bye reception staff before you have the chance to cancel your consultation.
I came to see a GP as my son had used his Epipen and the ambulance told me to go in and get one. When I arrived they refused saying that I can’t get to see a GP. I told them that it’s a script and I can’t go home without epipen luck someone (patient who was in a waiting area) offered me to go in “ in her place” where you are thank you.
Today, my appointment was at 6: 30- got in at 6: 10 pm, receptionist said that the doctor was running late. Waited for 45 mins and we are told that the doctor has called in sick.
Really, doctors learn to be professional and plan ahead.
I agree with ZZ, Jasmine is the most hostile and horribly rude doctor there. She insulted me on her own mistake, as she was not able to read name of medicine correctly on my previous history and rudely told me go and get over counter while it was prescription medicine and she still did not accepted that it was her mistak and insulted me instead on being upset. As a note I am already on antidepressent and BP medicines with many medical complications. Such doctors are very harmfull for mental health of patients like us.
Sometimes there’s a bit of wait but overall not bad. One receptionist with the glasses horrible really rude made us wait outside for 30 minutes before bringing out chairs to sit when we were doing blood test in the morning.
Early this morning, I attended here to see a Phlebotomist in the Medlab, (inside the Algester Med Cntre) I had the pleasure of being attended to by 'Grace'. She was very friendly & professional, got the job done within minutes.
The other staff were friendly as well, being helpful with doors & directing to where I was suppose to be, upon entry & exit.
After reading all the 1star negative reviews, I was apprehensive, however I was prepared to give them a shot & happy I did. (I would not have tolerated unprofessional behaviour from anyone, so I'm pleased it was a positive visit all round)! Can recommend.
Very good doctors and service. Nothing to complain about.
Our GP is Dr Laila, she's brilliant
EXTREMELY poor duty of care
Lack of proper communication
Canceled appointment ON THE DAY WITHOUT NOTICE
