Nice and quite atmosphere during the day if you are after a great breakfast and hearty lunch. Reasonable prices also, oh and the beer on tap is cold with many choices.

I stayed for a week for around $80 A night.

Colourful and a little riskay

No lifts, so you have yo carry your luggages up the first floor. We had a room facing the main road and liquor shop/warehouse was loading and unloading goods which was really noisy. We checked in at 3.30am (our flights arrive at 2am!) and was told that checkout time is 10am! Ridiculous!

Accommodation is ok. If you like some peace and quiet ask for rooms away from the pool. Really good restaurant / cafe and hotel guests get a discount

Hotel was very good music good for all ages accommodation very good rooms could be clean a little virtually needs a good mopping after if you're going to cook in the communal kitchen don't leave anything there it is gone they go through whatever is left in the fridges and take whatever they wish very upset with that overall stay 3 out of 5

The staff were amazingly kind and helpful. The location is super convenient. We won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who need to stay at Darwin.

"The Cav" was our local for the 5 years we lived in downtown Darwin. Steaks are the best in town and the beer is always cold. Shelly makes a great latte from the early hours and if you are into breakfast the poolside deck is a great place to have the eggs beni.also the best in Darwin.

I was disappointed with the Cav and won't be staying here again.

The first room I was in was shabby and somewhat dirty. I saw a cockroach in the bathroom one morning. I notified reception and they said they would ask housekeeping to do a thorough cleaning but my room didn't look any cleaner. There were also some ants in the room. The room was on the outside so it was noisy.

The second room I was in was in better condition but also somewhat dirty. It was inside so it was quiet and I didn't see any pests.

Good cheap room, and great facilities for a boys weekend away.

Central, and great staff. Bathroom wasnt pretty - and i wouldnt take the missus there, but otherwise a great place!

The Cavenagh Hotel is ideally located for city convenience.
I've heard the best man breakfast eminates frequently from their am menu.
Their dedication to food is a credit to Darwin.

Great food and very reasonable prices. Also great people and security was very thrifty when someone got unruly. Isolated incident but still great response and help.

We come here every Thursday night and tonight we couldnt get a lower table.
My 2.5 yo son hates we sitting at highr table and by the time the blond female staff got us a highchair, she also noticed the highchair is.too low for the high table, so she kindly found us a lower table quickly and solved our problem.
Very appreciate her quick thinking and help.

We had a few drinks in the outside area overlooking the pool. The drinks were a reasonable price and the staff were nice.

The longest line I have ever seen to order food. Then a massive line to pick it up only to be told it would be another 10 minutes. Half an hour later and still nothing. If there was a rating lower than 1 star I would give it.

Would be a great place if the dodgy backpackers that work there could track drinks and charge the correct prices

Stayed for 5 nights with a group and had a ball.
The rooms where pretty average but we weren't there to sleep.

Ok hotel, bed a little firm for old bones, friendly & helpful staff. Be sure to ask for a room at the back or could be very noisy. Great location, excellent swimming pool.

Taco Tuesday great. Music great. Special birthday song for my child was fantastic!
We always go to the Cav because it the best it Darwin

Great location, good meals clean and comfortable rooms although they could do with a upgrade/facelift
