84The best steak ever I had in Australia so far. Quality meat which was perfectly cooked Entrée was amazing as well OMG just perfect
Good weekend brunch. Generous dinner menu, Indoor or outdoor seating. Live entertainment most afternoons and evenings
The Thursday $19 steak wasn't bad. It comes with chips/mash and salad. The sauce is $3 extra.
The meat wasn't tender but the 300g rump cap cut is thick and nice.
Order one level rarer for the steak doneness as it's overcooked.
You need to book on Thursday as it can be fully booked.
Other steak are between $30 to $50.
The steak is more premium than the general tavern steak but the price is not more expensive, so that's great.
The kitchen is open at 6pm, should've open at 5.30 on Thursday to ease the crowd.
Stopped for lunch this time. Perfect steak Never disappointed as a hotel guest or dinner in the last 12 years! Amazing lady at the front desk, will go above and beyond to help.
Located right in the center. Live music in the evenings. Recommended for a short term stay in Darwin. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Helps with tips for Darwin and the surrounding area.
Due to a rude staff member when I first walked into the place I will not return. I went there to get a drink and feed but after dealing with her left straight away. Their staff need to learn to be more respectful and courteous to their patrons.
Good food, just hard with a big table because they don’t like to have multiple table numbers and your food can get lost in the mix, otherwise lovely
Beers cold, great service and good atmosphere. Indoor aircond dining atra and outdoor sports bar
Not reviewing the hotel but the food here is very good, the steaks and everything else on the menu are excellent
Never a bad experience here! Centrally located good selection of screens with sports. Happy helpful staff! Cannot ask for more!
Great spot.
If you go for a feed get the steaks, they have some super dry aged ones. Well worth th $
Also a good range of beers and bars inside and out.
Live music most days
All round a good spot!
Great location in Darwin, and the rooms had good air conditioning to cope with the weather. I also appreciated the streaming service options during my stay there.
Great spot for a Sunday lunch
Super crunchy flathead, chips and salad. Value for money.
Super cold ginger beer went down a treat on a muggy Darwin Sunday
What a great recommendation from the wonderful sales clerk at the Tommy Bahama store a few blocks away! She was correct, the arancini were fabulous.
Rating only for the pub/restaurant.
Very nice venue and the food is ok. Staff very friendly and we felt welcomed and valued
See you soon.
Love this place for a great feed and drinks. The food has always been.
The live music is great too.
I forgot one of my bags, while I was already in Perth, called up about it and the workers were so nice and easy to have a look and luckily found it and now it's on its way back to Perth to me, can't express how thankful I am.
I am loving this place. After having several rums and a fantastic feed, I cannot rate this place high enough. Thursday night is steak night and they have two rump specials, as well as other steak specials. Both rumps that we had of were $19. Each steak had to be at least 30 mm thick, and cooked to perfection. All the staff are keen to help and be sociable, and all the patrons are willing to chat to a stranger and make you feel at home.
It is an absolutely must visit place if you are in Darwin
We are so thankful for the kindness and welcome we recieved yesterday after our flight home had been cancelled at that last minute and we had nowhere to stay. Travelling as a family with 2 young children and scrambling to find accommodation in the peak season during school holidays was a nightmare but the reception staff at the Cavenagh couldn't have been more wonderful. They found a 4 bed bunk room for us at extremely short notice and allowed us to check in early with all our bags. We really couldn't be more grateful. Yes the room was basic as mentioned in other reviews but it was super clean, with linen, towels and toiletries provided and was just what we needed. Our kids LOVED the pool and we had one of the best pub meals we've had whilst enjoying great live music. What started out as a total disaster turned into a real highlight of our trip. Thank you so much!
The $12 cocktail happy hour on weekends is an amazing deal - which does attract quite a crowd. One of our drinks was very watery, it was a hot day and I suspect the ice melted. The bar tenders were very kind to replace the drink with an amazing frozen mango daquiri. Highly recommend!
