Mercure Darwin Airport Resort

Pros. 300 metres from arrivals lounge but in the usual Darwin heat its a long way. They provide a shuutle which was prompt at 1.30a.m. Oddly they do not tell you about their shuttle in any of their email material. They do not want you to know about it.
Cons. At 15 squ metres the room was far too small and cramped. Added to that the rip off cost was $284.00 per night. Next time I will choose more carefully.

Unfortunately the Mercure can not handle the amount of large quantities of guests. The worst wifi? Signal ever in such a renovated/new infrastructure. The premises is momentary under construction as well and guests should be compensated for the discomforts

Great resort for visitors to Darwin - a real flavour of the Top End for travellers.

I liked that it was very close to the airport with on call shuttle bus, had the Novatel next door, excellent amenities with the pool, laundry, access to gym and restuarant (Cossies) - Staff were friendly. The room was huge - 1 brm apartment - excellent.
What I disliked was the restuarant was expensive so that was probably the only drawback and reliance on taxis to get anywhere.

Mercure Darwin Airport Resort definitely lives up-to that ‘resort’ tag! Our checkin was effortless and the customer service at reception was polite, friendly and quick!
Our room is absolutely spotless clean, especially the crisp white sheets so fresh and luxuriously comfortable!
We enjoyed a delicious seafood basket and sizzling garlic king prawns for late lunch, brought too our poolside table! And then enjoyed cold drinks.
The curvaceous pool is surrounded by lounge chairs, and shaded by beach umbrellas and tall palm trees which makes for a refreshing cool-down after our long drive back from Kakadu. Lots of guests were in the pool floating area and sunbathing or on their laptops using the fast free wifi!
Our modern room is soundproof and has strong aircon! Bathroom immaculate with complimentary toiletries. Bar fridge, complimentary tea coffee milk.
Mercure Darwin airport resort also has a modern laundry that takes tap card payment. Soap detergent costs $1.
We stumbled on this hotel and it’s Perfect for our overnight stay especially with thefree 24 he shuttle service to the airport!

Bungalows are quite nice if maybe a touch dated, staff are very friendly and helpful, and location is great for access to airport

Just rating the restaurant. Waited for 50 min for a simple salad and schnitzel and got as apology - we get a lot of takeaway orders. So better be ordering via Uber as its a higher priority than hotel guests orders.

Room is so small and old. The Fridge doesn’t work. This is the worse 3 stars hotel I ever been. The only star is for it’s location.

Villa rooms with plunge pool were fantastic, clean and modern with great amenities. Good idea for a romantic weekend away

I stayed in the sister hotel (novotel) and walked across to this hotel for breakfast. I had an almond milk latte and potato rosti. Both delish and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Pool area and surrounds looks nice, lots of greenery.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the awesome staff at Mercure. I booked a pool vila for my partner as it was our anniversary. I requested to have the room to be set up a certain way and they did an amazing job. They went above and beyond and even gave us a complimentary fruit basket (which didn’t last long haha)
From check in to check out. The service was amazing. The room was like we weren’t even in Darwin (Bali) more like it vibes. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay and we’d definitely recommend checking this place out. 100% coming back. Thanks team and great work, thanks for an outstanding experience.

Great place to stay within walking distance of airport. My room overlooked the outstanding pool & bistro.

The pool is amazing and great cocktails. That's the only good thing about the place. The food is pretty standard and overpriced. The hotel rooms are old and dirty. The aircon barely worked. The shower had no pressure. Definitely not worth the $169 per night and would not recommend for anyone to stay in the hotel rooms.

Had the pool villa tonight, absolutely gorgeous and beautiful service from all the staff. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here on Wednesday the 24th November. Checked in at 5pm, no hot water in shower on arrival, called reception to let them know, was told someone would come fix it. Went to relax in the pool with a cocktail along with pool side snacks. Snacks were superb, but having to return to bar 3 seperate occasions to find out where cocktails were finished and returned to room, STILL no hot water, walked down to reception to get an answer, asked to speak with duty manager, was told I could walk across the road to Novatel and speak with manager returned to room after being assured manager would come see me to rectify problem. It's now 7.30pm, no show from anybody, returned once again to reception to rectify problems, manager still not around, asked to be moved to a new room so we could shower and go enjoy dinner. Moved to bungalow 302, YES! Finally some hot water for a shower, but bungalow 302 is a workplace health and safety carnival. Sensor light on entry doesn't work, reception knew this, on closer inspection of room flor extremely grubby and every electrical item in bungalow is out of date for safety tagging.
Had a quick look next morning in restaurant, electrical items also out of date.
I dare say this is the case for every electrical item in this so called resort.
1 star for this establishment is generous, I wouldn't recommend anything about this place apart from being close to airport.

Breakfast was really special and memorable. We had the big breakfast and super food bowl. Everything was cooked to perfection, house made, large serves. Not the standard fare. Tropical garden setting was delightful. A wonderful start to our stay in Darwin.

Have stayed for almost two months with my friend in a cabin facing a nature reserve, and I’ve had the most wonderful experience. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Marissa has been my favourite employee - her and her team do a fantastic job each day to keep our room clean, tidy and stocked with clean linen etc. They take such great care and are quick! Marissa’s super friendly and always brightens our day. The restaurant has a few vegan options which were quite delicious: the vegan burger is my favourite. The pool is like an oasis but sometimes there’s too many kids in it for me.so I just go across the road to the hotel pool. There’s also a gym and table tennis table for entertainment. The accommodation is close to everything: only a 10-15min Uber ride. Highly recommended to stay here. Conventional entry located next to the airport.

We felt like we could be at any exotic place in the world while we were relaxing poolside waiting for check in to our resort bungalow. We were greeted at the taxi by our lovely receptionist who then sorted checkin for us. We were very early but were made instantly welcome as she took our bags and stored them while we waited for our room to be available. The pool was lagoon style and very family friendly looked very inviting but we were happy to just grab a bit of lunch and a couple of cocktails from Cossies Bar. Our room was very quiet and clean. The bed was super comfortable and air conditioned to the perfect temperature.although it was a bit dated I was very happy with the feel it was well appointed There was a large fridge and kitchenette with microwave and a good size shower. Our deck was surrounded lush tropical garden overlooking the pool and the sound of the waterfall was calming. Very happy returning next week

New stay a week later
There is a huge difference in accommodation here we stayed on two occasions this holiday.once in a resort bungalow (review above) which was fabulous then we stayed in the standard Queen which although it was very clean and comfortable it was old and felt like a prison cell block. You definitely get what you pay for here. Totally different experiences although both satisfied our needs.
