A great place to base yourself for the quintessential Kakadu holiday. The food is good, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the Yellow Waters Billabong is only a short bus ride away.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the glamping tent we were in was well appointed. I was especially impressed with the shared amenities space - the cleanliness of the bathroom facilities, the gorgeous Kakadu Organic products to use which were divine and a bathmat on offer which I have never ever seen in a shared amenities space before - a nice touch!

The staff at Cooinda went over and above for us when we were there for a night and had car trouble. Called in their mechanic, gave us lots of advice, and the general manager Jason even picked up the spare part we needed on his way back from Darwin and didn’t charge us for it! We were blown away by everyone’s kindness and generosity. We stayed in an outback retreat room for one night and the bed was very comfortable, everything clean, great view of the trees, and the AC was just what we needed! The restaurant also had delicious food. We would definitely stay here again!

What a lovely place after arriving from Katherine. The rooms were nice and cool, clean and comfortable. If I had more information at the start of my trip through Kakadu I would highly recommend making it your base.

We had an amazing stay, simply put the facilities top notch, the staff amazing, the location perfect there is nothing I can fault about the place at all, oh maybe one thing you can't go fishing unless you want to get eaten by a croc. We will be going back in the wetseason already booked it. Perfect place to stay in Kakadu as it's right in the middle A+

Great resort. We camped and enjoyed the bistro/bar, swimming pool and bouncing pillow. Unfortunately our camp site was wet when we arrived due to the sprinklers but it dried quickly and we were fine to set up. Good facilities including camp kitchen with fridge/freezer.

Caravan Park is extremely hard to find sites as it's not signed. Staff lovely and facilities modern and clean. Very Expensive for Caravan sites compared to even Jabaru.

Great hotel! Facilities were very nice, free laundry, pools, mini market. The hotel was great, just didn’t enjoy the yellow cruise experience, thar was boring and princely, better to safe your money for the jumping cocrodile or other experience in the area. The staff were friendly. The hotel is undertaking some construction so it can be noisy and our room wasn’t ready on time, maybe they were short on staff. As a suggestion for activities go to the aboriginal centre that was a great experience and the boy in the facility was very knowledgeable of local traditions and history a must to go.

We ate at the Bistro after a fantastic cruise and was so disappointed. My wife ordered pulled lamb which clearly had been pulled out of a freezer and reheated, it was discolored and disgusting. I complained and was not even acknowledged by restaurant staff.don’t waste your money

Will start by saying we stayed during the end of the build up. From the get go they have been super flexible with moving a non refundable booking by 12 months from last year due to a covid outbreak making it unsafe for us to travel to kakadu. From the start of the stay the service has been amazing. Considering we are in the middle of nowhere the system slows are to be expected and are manageable with no more than a 3 to 5 minute wait for anything. Reese at check in and on the afternoon shift at the general store has been amazing every step of the way with recommendations a friendly greeting, always hS a smile and happy to chat about his experience at the park. The bar staff at mimis restaurant have been adaptable and willing to make not just dietary changes but also preference changes in their menu. The continental breakfast is amazing value however the full breakfast is moderate. The rooms are excellently clean with servicing done daily. When we did have an issue again Reese from the front desk was quick to resolve the issue. The pilot Declan from kakadu air was friendly and knowledgeable and great fun for the hour we were in the air and Chizo from yellow water cruises was a fantastic guide to the waterways both times we travelled with them. Also the pools (yes 2 of them) are just something else.

The only detractor was the lack of WiFi. However signal for telstra works.

Located ideally in the Kakadou park. Very nice rooms. Nicely decorated with a lovely set of shampoos etc.
It has a nice restaurant with good dinner opportunities. The breakfast buffet is very good with good Nespresso coffee!
Nice shaded pool to cool off.
Amenities like showers and toilets come separately from the room but are located pretty close.
We took the scheduled bus ride to the amazing boats tour. I highly recommend the yellow waters cruise. Super friendly tour guide that showed us around on the water and highlighted cool animals like saltwater crocs and amazing birds

Came here on a work trip. The staff are absolutely lovely and accommodating. We got to meet the team as well as the chef. The dinner was an absolute blast with a mix of some Aboriginal foods. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great getaway solo, with a friend, family, or even for work!

No WiFi available. Mobile phone reception (Telstra) is patchy and slow (at best).
Good Rooms, but not serviced daily.
Happy Hour at the bar 4.30pm to 6pm.
Seek out Jamie at the restaurant/bar for great, friendly service.

We stayed at Cooinda Lodge due to no driving after dark with NT hire cars and doing the sunset tour on Yellow water. Our room was very basic with a double and two singles that were a trundle set. Everything built in the room was black so it was challenging to see. This room cost 479.00 per night, which I feel is way over priced for what it was, but as there is nowhere else to stay you are very limited with options. The bistro was lovely and the staff were excellent.

We stayed in motel style room with one double and one single bed. The double bed was very comfortable. The room was a good size with a small outdoor seating area. Plenty of hot water and good aircon. Shade and blockout blinds on interior were reasonably effective at blocking out sunlight. The area was quiet yet close enough to the service station, restaurant and pool. Meals at the restaurant were expensive. A Beef burger and chips set you back $26. A Chicken Caesar salad was $32. A Godfather Pizza was $28. Good food just a bit pricey. A comfortable place to stay in the outback.

The place itself was lovely. The pool was amazing and I would stay here for that reason. Toilet were ok, probably need daily spray to get rid of all the mosquito's and bugs because your trying to avoid them while on the toilet.
The reason for my low rating was the whole booking process. It isn't managed from the office at Cooinda and there were many discrepancies between the emails compared to what I was still owing. Also they emailed my sote 81 but the park actually closed that section off so communication between the booking office and reception didnt seem to happen making us circle around the park in confusion a bit annoying.
This is the reason for my lower scoring. There were dingos around camp which ate our bin and our shoes so don't leave anything outside. Would have been nice to have been advised on check in about this.
Overall, its a lovely place, quite a drive from town but the pool makes it worth it.

The Yellow Water Dawn Cruise is a must do therefore it makes sense to stay at Cooinda Lodge. However, be prepared to pay premium prices for a powered site and extremely dirty and unkept new facilities. It doesn't take much to clean the showers, toilets and fans yet it appeared to have not been cleaned in years.
