BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park reviews
65Very disappointed as we are unable to get there due to lockdown they refused to reschedule our booking and refused to refund our $200 and hung up.
Stayed Here quite a few times and I think it is becoming very tired in need of quite a bit of TLC.
Had power outage, 34c hot humid. No staff after 6.00. Tried after hours, no response. Few others run our power leads nearby to get power. Next morning all we got was abuse from 1 manager. No opoligy, just threats and abuse. Will never stay their again. Park is old and need of upgrading. Electrical can't handle the load. Pool has very bad rust marks coming through the pebble stones.
Great caravan park, stayed 5 nights, was great, lovely pool, plenty of shady spots. Good base to explore the area.
Absolutely terrible to deal with the staff are rude and unaccommodating. Booking was not easy and pleasant experience.
Massive park with plenty of sites. Kids loved it due to having a splash park, 2 pools and a jumping pillow. Splash park and jumping pillow both have a hour of toddler only time each day which is an awesome idea.
Was reasonably priced and even better if you have a Big4 membership as you get 10% off plus free hour hire of pedal karts, late check out and early check in.
Wednesday night normally has live music and sausage sizzle however it was cancelled when we were there. Sunday night is Laksa night.
Definitely worth staying at for caravan sites near Darwin.
Booked in 6 months in advance with 2 other vans, was told all would be together but was put on opposite sides of the park, they actually didn't have a proper site for us so they put us on side of the roundabout next to the dump point which smelt pretty bad (even my kids thought so), squash courts unavailable due to electrical issues, main pool smelt like urine
Stayed there last week. Only lighting at night was at cabins & amenities an older gentleman staying 2 vans away from us on his way to showers fell flat out over large tree roots (many in this big 4 park very dangerous) my partner is a Dr went to his aid & checked next morning to see if he was ok
, chop these out & think about painting white. We couldn't park next to cement slab as our wheels were too wide too many packed in like sardines in a can. Park ran out of ice grrr fortunately the service station down the road had pleny, office closes at 6pm staff ordinary won't stay here again
Nice shady park
Plenty of tree's and plants for shade and birds. Some sites are small for a big caravans and you feel a bit squashed in
Hey i, m grateful that we got in, many tried but could not due to the place being booked full. Nice clean and modern facilities. It's a good spot. All good Jim.
Recently spent 9 days at this park. Booked for 3 sites in advance, but upon arrival was told we would all be separated. Not ideal on a family vacation. Thankfully, they were eventually able to find 3 sites together. Power went out at about 6pm to a section of the park. After multiple attempts (from a number of campers) we were unable to contact after hours staff. As a result, power was not restored until 7am the following morning. Campers had resorted to plugging their power leads into the laundry. When the male manger finally arrived, no apology for the inconvenience, instead he proceeded to verbally abuse and intimidate a series of customers for having the audacity to plug into the laundry power boards!
Clean facilities, but very poor water pressure in all showers.
Beautifully landscaped park in a great location ruined by extremely poor customer service.
Great location.
People running it not so good. Bloke had a go at us about being shown to our site even though someone else from the Park had done it.
We had visitors for lunch. They got charged $15 each to come on site even though they didn't use the parks facilities. Already cleared them coming on site at the office at no charge, they just wanted them to sign in. (Never took their details anyway). Had we known they would be charged we would have gone to the tavern.
Showers/toilets are clean but septic smells.
Was not overly happy with our stay. The smell was disgusting from the toilet blocks. There was quiet a few other issues that went wrong and were not appropriately fixed. I would probably not stay here again.
Would not recommend. Staff are unhappy and basically accuse you of doing the wrong thing even though they have no idea what they are talking about. They seem to either hate their jobs or hate people.
Campers are packed in like sardines, power goes out on your powered site and they won't answer the after hours phone on a Friday night. Cabins have previous occupiers hair and pubes in bathroom. Way too expensive for what you get. Whole place left a bad taste in mouth.
Big child friendly Park. Nice sites, clean ensuite style amenities. Dog friendly under discretion. Walking distance to shops & tavern. HOWEVER. We did have friends from Darwin come to us for a BBQ & were charged $15 per person to enter park. Even after explaining they were not using any facilities, they were still charged for doing the right thing and reporting to office. Based on that, won't be back
A very kid friendly resort style caravan park with water park and pool. Was put in the pet friendly area unfortunately. Not a fan of grey water on the ground. Makes think of collective biowaste on ground during covid. I'm sure with such high numbers every day they can afford some pvc piping to take grey water away from camp sites. Central bathrooms really run down and needing maintenance but the other bathrooms ensuited and modern. Dump point needs fixing with broken concrete on tank causing smells to waft over pool and camp sites.
A horrible experience as staff and cleaning very unprofessional. It took numerous phone calls and 5 days to get sheets cleared off our balconies we can't leave. Rooms left open and unattended for a week with wildlife able to make new homes.
Always the same answer of we are understaffed and too many people. In my section I can see 10 rooms being used out of 200.
I'm paying $2500 for this! Not allowed any electrical appliances to even have toast, no sharp items as I wanted scissors for a haircut.
Not a nice place to stay. Staff is very unfriendly.the cabins are just for one purpose - making money - and not comfortable at all. They offer portacot, but don't provide them. Ended up cancelling after one night.maybe recommended for camping with own equipment.
A great place to stay friendly staff excellent facilities pools spa's kids entertainment jumping castle lovely shade trees good sized sites all you could ever want and not over priced we stayed there 10 days and will be going back
Considering park was pretty much empty when we got there, could have put us closer to the pool! For the kids! Gates didn't work for the first day and a half, was really annoying.rather expensive for the cabin and only block out blinds, no curtains. So couldn't even have light in with privacy. For what it cost, I'd rather stay in a motel closer to town!
And U have to pay for guests to come in if you having bbq. LOL.with no people there, and no one even using the facilities while I was there, that's outrageous.fair enough if Super busy.but ye.won't be coming back.
Very clean cabin, and everything supplied, but the cabin was very small - ridiculously so, especially in the bedrooms. The couch was totally broken & unusable! It should have been replaced, and the front door lock was dodgey, and took a lot of jiggling to get it open. Definitely NOT staying there again!
