Banyan Tree Caravan & Tourist Park reviews
74 Went there for dinner and a drink
Lovely undercover outdoor seating with beautiful lighting in trees.
Friendly staff and nice music playing.
Staff loudly partying until after midnight. No lunch available, although states lunch on sign outside bar. Lunch was then provided for the hungover staff and their mates and a small tour bus.
Banyan caravan park is well located to Litchfield National Park, facilities were clean, showers were hot with good pressure, staff were quite busy however courteous, restaurant was good and live entertainment was excellent. When back in his way again will stay here definitely
What a top oasis this place is! Wonderful big shady camp sites, clean amenities, wonderful staff, so clean everywhere and the live music which brings everyone together is next level! So close to Litchfield NP and it's wonderful water holes and falls. A must stay stop.
This spot has a lot of potential but unfortunately the greedy owner doesn’t know how to run an ethical business.
We were charged $45 on arrival for 2 people for unpowered site when we arrived there 5 mins before 5 o’clock the late fee cut off time, although I still think it’s greedy to have such rules in place to begin with.
When we asked how much for the powered site the owner said $15 more which would have meant that it would be $60 where the prices are clearly stated on their website: $15 per person for unpowered and $45 for the powered site. Also no late fee check in was mentioned to us.
Happy hour - we were charged full price for one of the drinks. Also a small bowl of chips was $13.50 and we had to wait for 40 min! I could also see from their menu prices they were charging extortionate prices for what seemed like very average food, most likely frozen produce.
There is no proper camp kitchen just some benches and tables. No kettle, toaster, microwave etc. Basically trying to make people pay for their overcharged menu of not a great dill.
They charge $7.50 to use the washing machine which I found as an enormous piss take since some sites in the park such as Safari Campgrounds offer this service absolutely free of charge and some would only charge a couple of $$.
No free Wi-Fi except within the pub area.
We were attracted to this site by it’s lush, green surroundings and creative decor. Also lovely to see animals such as horses, sheep and dogs on site. The site itself is pretty neat and has nice bathroom facilities but unfortunately owner’s greed doesn’t make it a great experience.
I was also shocked to read the review about the owner shouting at a German couple and then kicking them out which sounds as for no apparent reason. Not cool!
A very surprising little place. A great find. Very clean, friendly and great young people having a go. Pizza was excellent.
Stopped here on a day tour returning to Darwin. Very welcoming owners and a great selection of cold drinks to end a great day out. Highly recommended.
Loved our stay here. Friendly staff and amazing quality live music performance. We had a simple yet delicious burger and seriously loved the warm and inviting atmosphere with the beautiful banyan tree and fairy lights. Lots of love put into this place!
10 out of 10.
Great vibe, fantastic staff and the owner Johno is so helpful and even sings a few songs over the evening.
Amenities are super clean and always tidy.
Van sites are under huge trees with no mossies or bats.
Horses and goats wander freely around the spacious and green grassy areas.
The place is like an oasis with the bore watering 24/7.
Don't get me started on John's Massive Banyan tree under which 6 days a week entertainers such as Steve Case plays guitar, harmonica and sings through 5pm happy hour into the night.
Suits oldies like me or families and kids to sing along or get up and dance.
Happy hour 5 bucks for schooners and $5 for a glass of shiraz.crazy.
Stayed here in closefor 3 days to explore beautiful Litchfield.
Best place in the Nt to stay if you don't like to have a drink and have a sense of humour this is not a place for you.
Stayed in our van for 2 nights powered site great value (live music every night fantastic thank you Steve Case brilliant
Cabins are extremely overpriced. 0ne star accommodation for four star prices. Paid $325 a night for a small basic adjoined room. Guest Wifi didn't work. No camp kitchen. Left feeling totally scammed by a rip off merchant only interested in money.
Ripped me off with two take away VB stubbies, I didn't look until I got home and you had charged me $24.40 and ignored my enquiry via email
We called by for lunch after visiting some waterfalls.
We received a warm welcome and had a pat of the friendly dog.
The drinks were icy cold. The bar was clean and tidy, as were the facilities, the grass was green, and our meals (burger) were excellent.
Great spot close to Litchfield NP. Grassy flat camping, sunsets over the paddocks, good facilities, everything you need!
Definitely one of the better places we stayed in our week long campervan trip in the NT. Close to Lichfield NP. Better than average facilities in terms of cleanliness. 4G cell service was ok for us but I think it depends where you are camped as I noticed a few folks doing the internet withdrawal zombie walk. Staff and bistro grub was really good.
Something felt a bit off with the way the guy held the EFTPOS machine, checked my bank when we reached Bachelor and sure enough, $53.73 for 2x Connoiseur stick, 3x milo cups and a Zooper Dooper.
Called them up, apparently $7.50 ice creams and $5 iceypole (no prices at freezer) and the rest was credit card fees.
After further quizzing he offered to refund $10 if I drove back.
Sketchy as, will not be back.
This place is everything you want in the NT. The vibe & atmosphere is incredible! Food is great (which is not a hugely common thing in darwin). Especially the chips! The staff as are bloody awesome & do contribute to the whole experience. Close to litchfield national park & with out doubt worth visiting after going to the rock pools.
Enjoyed our 1 night stay in a chalet. Friendly and welcoming staff with a funky little bar with live music. Lots of shade for campers.
Wauw! Love this place! Stunning camping spots, clean facilities and wonderfull staff. The atmosphere is friendly and the pub offers great food/drinks and some days live music! Also the location is perfect as it is close to the national parks. Highly recommend visiting the Banyan tree resort!:)
