Absolute gem. Great food and service. So lucky to have Yan in Wolli Creek. Also glad they serve alcohol and cocktails. One of the few places in Wolli that do. Thanks, and see you again soon!

Living around the area, first time try this restaurant. The food was ok for me not reviews this high recommend.we had lamb rib for dinner, the meat was too fatty (almost all dish fat!) I was told this issue to the staff then they said: oh that’s lamb sometimes you hard to control the fat.even you can take off is you don’t like!
I am the person like eat lamb with a little fat, but last night the lamb was too much! (when you spend $38 on all fat lamb.)
Be honest if this lamb had too much fat the way you should do ：
1. When you received should return to your supplyer.
2. Should not put the all fat part for one table order.
3. Not use this excuse say to the customer

Awesome food! Authentic Sichuan cuisine. It's noodle jelly is some of the best I've ever tasted and it's Sauna Beef is both innovative and authentic. Customer service and ambience of the restaurant were also both phenomenal. Best part is that it's relatively unknown, so it's a nice and quiet dining experience. They also have private rooms which can be booked.

I usually get disappointed with modern Asian food (as I am a Chinese myself) but not this time! Every dish was amazing and the flavours were well balanced. The coconut ice cream was the highlight. That was probably the best ice cream I have had!

Booked for early dinner on the way home, I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the quality of the produce and ingredients used, had the smoked beef it was one of the best I ever had, made me say "oh man this is good" well done YAN, will be back.

Restaurant with an emphasis on bringing smoky-ness to the protein. Ordered the ceviche, smoked prawns & beef ribs - overall great delivery with fresh ingredients. Beef ribs were nicely cut up and meat was tender; however the only neg is that dipping soy sauce that came with the prawns (or perhaps it was from another savoury dish) where it left a longing raw garlic-y aftertaste for a few hours after dinner, just was not pleasant. Generous portions size of the coconut dessert - there’s some sort of jelly (perhaps agar?) inside the coconut - ice-cream had a good melting resistance. Very attentive staff & there was one particularly chatty waiter

Randomly stumbled upon this place and I am so glad I did because the food was incredible and at such a good price. We opted for the set menu (cheapest set menu I've had at only 55pp) and everything was delicious, memorable and had an amazing smoky flavour. You can tell the chefs really know what they are doing. Highlights were probably beef Ribs, pork Ribs, fried squid, fried tofu, but it's honestly hard to choose a favourite because everything was scrumptious.

Also, you MUST pay an additional $5pp for the coconut ice cream. Best dessert I've ever had in. So refreshing and creamy and delicious.

One of my favourite local spots for a delicious feed of Chinese contemporary. Such a fantastic mix of flavours and the staff are extremely friendly. Love the atmosphere, the food and the people. What else could you want!

My go to's are the tofu and snapper ceviche, the beef and lamb ribs, the olive rice and 100% do not miss out on the coconut dessert. It will BLOW YOUR MIND

Pork ribs and their coconut ice cream is the dish we always come back to this restaurant. Highly recommended!

I strongly recommend this restaurant, it is one of the best one in sydney. The fish was very fresh and the sauce fit it so well. The coconut dessert really need to have a try if u don't hate coconut.

We celebrated our wedding dinner at Yan. The food is just amazing. Just not what you expect. Very cosy and unpretentious service which suits us. Our guests all of whon hage never been to Yan were all delighted with every dish served. If you have groups of 10 to 14 this is a perfect place to host a dinner party. We just love this place.

Pleasant experience overall. There were a few dishes that were sold out once we arrived thus missing out on the popular. Dishes were good over all but lacked intensity and any stand out dish.

Definitely must try this restaurant. Personally, the olive rice and fried squid was a fantastic combination. Loves the chicken katsu, soft and tender. Excellent personalized service. And the Ice cream. OMG. The honey yogurt desert is equally heavenly. Definitely a must order.

The people that run this restaurant take a lot of pride in their offer and it shows. The food and service are amazing. We’ll definitely be returning.

Awesome restaurant, the dishes were all delicious with great depth of flavour. My mum commented that they were slightly smaller in portion than we would've liked but nonetheless we were still satisfied at the end. The waiter was trying very hard to make us feel comfortable and successfully did so with his lovely gestures.

YAN is one of those places that is very unassuming, hidden kind of gems that you wanna have on your list of go tos. I kinda don’t want to write this but they really deserve it. Congratulations on your hat! Thoroughly deserved. I highly recommend tasting the whole menu, come with a big group and you will NOT be disappointed.

The restaurant was full but the service was superb. The staff all very friendly. The food came out fast and so delicious. If you are up for trying something different give Yan a visit.

That’s a restaurant that sells Asian food with a bit of twist of local taste. Food cooked nicely especially the smoked meat, it just falls off the bone.:)
