Yan Restaurant

My first time at Yans on my birthday night, I tried the first dish and immediately made another booking to visit again on the same week. I would pick this over Bennelong any day! It is a small cosy restaurant, the food was beautiful, staff were attentive and lovely and the boss was great to chat to. Their portions are SO generous and my grandfather is vegetarian and is quite picky and they were offered to make a special vegetarian dish for him that wasn't on the menu.

My mum normally doesn't like coconut but she complimented your coconut dessert so much and said she would eat it again.

I found this restaurant on the very day of visit and I was able to book a table outside. Despite the windy weather, the place was well-equipped to block wind with heaters and blinds. The service, ambience and food were perfect. Following a recommendation by a crew, I ordered the braised wintermelon and it allowed us to experience how their creative ideas can be turned into appetising dishes.

Nice cozy atmosphere, food was amazing, you must try the beef dish (don't remember the name) I would suggest ordering individual dishes. The staff were very friendly with exceptional service.
I would definitely come here again.

Wonderful little smokehouse at Wolli Creek. We got the banquet menu (minimum of 2 people) which did not disappoint! Honestly had a difficult time picking a favorite but it might have to be the short ribs, squid, and tofu. The olive rice was so memorable that I might end up craving for olive rice + short rib one of these days. Lucky for us it’s just around the corner from the apartment! We will have to go back for the desserts for sure It’ll maybe be worth them expanding the dining area to the unit next to them

Narada and his talented chefs have set an insane benchmark for contemporary Asian cuisine that's purely about the produce, execution, service and value without the typical pretentiousness of Sydney's upmarket dining scene. Forget all those overpriced/overhyped Hemmes joints and come here instead - the place deserves another hat just for making casual fine dining accessible to everyone. Will be returning with more friends to ensure this place continues to grow and succeed.

Great experience with the team at Yan. Food was delicious and deserves the one hat they have. Staff were friendly and attentive. Price point is reasonable, they have a great $60 per person banquet which gives you a good selection of their menu. We ended up spending $150 total for 2 people, which included the banquet x 2 pax; 1 drink each and share dessert. Definitely full towards the end, we barely fit the dessert in. Which was the coconut ice cream, must have! Would recommend and come back again with friends.

Really enjoyed our meal at Yan. Highlights were the Squid, potatoes and the dreamy tiramisu. Staff were lovely, quick and attentive. Food was fresh, delicious and portions were generous. Pricing was reasonable for quality and portion size of food. We left feeling full, content and keen to return with friends sometime.

Took rhe missus for her birthday. Authentic smokey flavours, the banquet had decent size dishes and we found the beef melted in our mouths. Service was impeccable.

A hatted Japanese restaurant hidden in the living area of Wolli Creek. Their banquet is of lovely value and high quality.
Interestingly, I and my two Taiwanese friends all found their dishes kinda "Taiwanese", especially the ginger dipping sauce. Therefore, this restaurant also becomes our first choice for nostalgia in Central Sydney.
Last but not least, their cocktail is legit and strong. Don't forget to get yourselves some refreshments.

Wow! We were thoroughly surprised at this cute small restaurant in Wolli Creek. Never expected to find a one hatted restaurant hidden away in the suburbs but glad we did. The menu looked really good and we chose a nice selection - at first I was quite skeptic about the plain “bao” but they tasted so good! The drinks and desserts were amazing and they even gave us a free birthday dessert! Definitely returning here.

To say yan restaurant is epic is a understatement.the food is beyond the location and yet the burbs need this level close to where we live.iv eatten at many hatted restaurants and the hyped up city places but this is ahead of alot of them!
Service was informed and prompt.chef was polite and even came out to bring dishes out.
Cant say enough how amazing yans is!

A must visit for foodies in Sydney.

Very good modern Chinese cuisine, The short ribs beef was amazing, particularly alll the sides were equally as impressive. Coconut ice cream is the must order item!

Delicious food. Just a little disappointed because I thought there was a vegan or vegetarian dish, but in fact there were only entrees/sides.

Amazing food!
Must try the beef short rib and as other reviews stated the coconut icecream is definately unique and yummy.
Don't forget the Olive Rice as well unrated
