SmartPay is amazing. It saves my business a lot of money, my customers don't mind that we use SmartPay either. Onboarding went smooth, the customer service is awesome, my account manager is Samantha and she is AMAZING! I ask her that many obscure questions and she just nails it. Absolute legend.

Just tried several times to cancel the eftpos but the way staff talking was very rude ever.

We cancelled our service about 3 months ago and they still charge us and all the time they said that they have sent the pouches for the machines to be returned back but we never received it.
Could never recommend this stupid service to anyone they give you so much hard time.
I have no luck with them will try with fair trading.

I haven't had customer service like this in years. I was looking for a portable payment system - my useless bank still hasn't responded after 2 weeks (Thanks ANZ) but I visited another business and I had to pay on his eftpos machine so I asked him about his machine (which was Smartpay) and he was rapt - so I came home and called. I nearly fell off my chair when the answered straight away, I had been allocated a case manager (Tim Dobson) within 10mins and away we went. We did have a few hoops to jump through (from my end as I am a new business) over a couple of days but Tim was patient, obviously experienced and by late Wednesday arvo all approved - and the machine arrived in Melbourne from Sydney on Friday morning. Now - I'm a mature aged person so I called tech support to make sure I was doing it right - and they answered straight away - and within a few minutes I was good to go. You know when you battle away with something and then you get to the right person/company and it's so easy you almost can't get your head around it. Honestly - this is the difference between speaking to someone direct and only being able to contact some via email. I cannot recommend SMARTPAY enough.
As for ANZ/Stripe/Square (2 weeks and zip from any of them) - thanks for nuthin!

ZERO STARS - avoid like the plague

Shocking customer service. They’ll reply quickly when you say you’re leaving them, but won’t call back when you need assistance. We emailed and had no response, called and nobody could answer our questions. I made multiple calls which were not returned in regards to setting up MOTO payments which we had lodged our paperwork for.
Sales people are left answering the phones apologising for the terrible service taking notes and ‘escalating’ the issue, saying that it’s not good enough on their end and promising someone will phone us back asap because they don’t want to lose our business. 7 days later, no return phone call. And on the 7th day a generic email saying if I want to set up moto payments I need to fill out this paperwork … which I had already done a month before. Bye bye Smart Pay.

We have lost so much money from SmartPay dropping out. It has happened over and over again and I’ve had staff on the phone for 1.5h at a time trying to get it to work. We’ve had customers walk out because we’ve had to be cash only during very busy hours. They gave us new terminals and it still happened. When it’s been a SmartPay wide issue their customer service lines are down, they don’t have an automated message saying what’s going on, it’s just a complete blackout and you can’t take payments or get through to customer service! Obviously we’ve now moved provided but would highly recommend going with another provider.

As a customer at shops that use these terminals, these are the worst terminals I have ever used. They rarely accept payments using my phone. I avoid places with these terminals.

Switching to Smartpay has been the absolute best move for our business. Great product, sales team on point, terrible phone service for assistance. Phone wait times are unacceptable and they don't call you back when you leave your number, or leave a voicemail.

Instead of charging the business the EFTPOS fees they instead charge the fees to the customer making the payment without the customer even being aware! F that! How dodgy is that! If I see any business that's got a SmartPay eftpos machine I am not going back there again!

Glad there are no fee for businesses but unfortunate for customers. Guess business are not too worried when fee are passed onto customers. Hope these business know I will not shop with them anymore.

On the receiving end of this scam, I paid a tradesmans bill and was charged a "surcharge" of $6.53. When I queried him about it, he explained that Smartpay charge this amount for paying by credit card. I explained that I don't have credit cards only debit cards. Apparently this company is unable to tell the difference, or maybe doesn't want to tell the difference.
A government check on this revealed:
Can a surcharge be imposed on debit or prepaid cards? No. The surcharge may only be imposed upon credit cards, and not debit or prepaid cards. The amount of the surcharge may not exceed the amount of the swipe fee paid by the merchant on the particular credit card.
Caveat Emptor to all using this dodgy service.

Work for Dominos with several stores, our online account is showing $0 in transactions for every store at closing. Called up and got a very rude man who seemed disinterested and told me accounting will help me with my IT issues. Why offer a 24/7 helpline if your staff do not care to help and just say call back during business hours? Regret switching to you guys. Horrible customer service and horrible terminals.

I had always had the highest praise for this company until I sold my business. I completed a change of ownership so my account was closed but then the customer service went out the window. The satchel they promised to send for the return or the terminal never arrived and after approx 10 calls and emails still no satchel. I was then charged $36.00 or so dollars. I then called them again and was assured it will be done this time. It seems while you are collecting fees for them they are attentive but once you close the account, they done want to know you. What they need to realise is people closing an account may very likely open another at another time. Won’t be with this company!

From our original enquiry & contact with Henry through to set up & using Smartpay, has been an easy & pleasant experience. Henry followed up with us & answered any questions we had. It is great to have a facility that works for our business needs & the fees we are now saving is an added bonus.

Switching to smart pay was best decision I have made. I have saved thousands in fees and the switch was so simple, I was able to have an extra eftpos machine still at no cost as my business is growing making so much easier to service my customers.
It’s been over 6 months and no issues at all.
Joseph at smart pay was amazing to deal with and was available following the initial set up for any questions.
Highly recommend
