What a wonderful place to celebrate your wedding. We could not fault them on anything. The planners did a great job making sure every detail was noted and implemented. The food was amazing and our guests are still talking about how good it was. The location is beautiful as is the room. The service was impeccable. Abby and her assistant took care of every detail and preempted our every need. It was magical. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much.

We recently held our wedding at Sergeants’ Mess and it comes with our highest recommendation.

Lily, our appointed event planner, was an absolute delight to work with in planning our wedding day. Lily was flexible, reliable, approachable, easy-going with excellent communication in organising every aspect of our ceremony and reception. We unfortunately had to make a number of last minute changes but Lily was so understanding and accommodating and it never became an issue.

Chris, the front of house manager on our wedding night, was amazing in his professionalism in ensuring our wedding night ran smoothly. He effectively and efficiently dealt with issues that arose on our behalf and always had our best interests at heart to ensure that our night was amazing. Chris regularly checked in on us throughout the night to see if we needed anything, he delivered a truly hospitable and outstanding service.

Our guests gave raving feedback about how fantastic the venue was and the high quality of the food and service. Thank you to everyone at Sergeants’ Mess in making our wedding day such a memorable one.

We only had 3 weeks to plan our event at Sergeants’ Mess and Amanda was with me every step of the way.

All requests were meticulously met and Amanda was proactive by coming up with suggestions for the day.

The catering was fabulous: timings for breaks were spot on and the food was delicious and plentiful.

Well done to the team for managing to prepare up to 50 teas and coffees in the morning and afternoon breaks.

We will definitely return to Sergeants’ Mess for a future event!

We had our ceremony and reception at Sergeants Mess and it was the best thing ever. We could not have chosen any better venue for our special day. First of all we had to move our wedding due to covid last year and SM were very sympathetic and re-organise the dates seamlessly without headache. The food and service was fantastic! A+ I have sooo many compliments from our guests with the food. I would get married again at SM with a heartbeat. Xx

We had the best day ever at our wedding reception at Sergeants Mess and all staff were exceptionally helpful and receptive to any questions or needs on the day. We have heard complements from our guests and our vendors on just how polite, insightful and accommodating all staff were!

To be honest, it was no surprise the day itself went so smoothly, because from our first initial meeting with Isabelle - Venue Sales Manager, we could tell that the venue was accommodating to our tailored requests, friendly and focused on delivering us (as your clients) the best day we could imagine, ensuring we had everything we needed. These client-focused conversations were a key differentiator when we decided to choose SM to host our wedding reception.

Even during the uncertainty of COVID, Christine who was our assigned Event Sales Coordinator was readily available to answer any questions we had, and provided timely updates ensuring we remained informed about the current COVID restrictions and how it may impact our scheduled day. Following the decision to postpone due to COVID restrictions, Christine worked with us to quickly secure a new date in a year's time. The only negative experience we had the whole time with Sergeants Mess, was that when we postponed due to the COVID restrictions and rescheduled for a year's time, our per person rate (and minimum spend) did not change despite the fact that we moved from Saturday rates/fees to instead be Sunday rates/fees. This was extremely frustrating and something we did not anticipate, as we assumed that by postponing from a Saturday evening to a Sunday evening (at the same time of year), the new per person cost (and hence the minimum spend) would be reflective of the Sunday rates, not the originally booked Saturday rates, particularly when there were no Saturday's available that worked with our vendors we had already paid for. This is not a critic on any person in particular, but rather the T&Cs not being clear when originally signed. This was the only negative experience we had across the whole experience.

Once rescheduled, Christine was amazing as always. So helpful, informative and supportive in helping us ensure we had planned our whole reception. Christine went above and beyond in her service in particular, by answering questions we weren't too sure of as we didn't have a wedding planner / stylist so she filled in and answered as many questions as she could. Christine helped organise our tasting evening at a date that worked for both of us and our families. She then worked with the kitchen to ensure meals were cooked exactly to our liking as per the tastings, and all dietary requirements were accounted for. Christine was also receptive to late / last minute changes as a result of COVID, meaning we had to replace some guests. Christine's can-do attitude, calm and personable nature are to be commended in helping us both feel so comfortable and confident that our wedding night at Sergeants Mess would be truly incredible.

On the night itself, the on-shift Venue Manager introduced themselves to us and catered to any needs we had, and also helped look after our VIP guests through tailored service, truly above and beyond what they expected. The food and drinks were incredible! Although a limited drinks options, the drinks were still incredible! Plenty of food options, and all food was exceptional, even for guests with particular dietary requirements and kids' meals.

All our guests had a wonderful time, and the service and hospitality of all staff at Sergeants Mess was incredible. Looking forward to our next event at SM!

I have never seen so much bad service. Really disappointing and disgusting. Very unprofessional and organisation was bad.

Lovely location, stunning views! As a guest, I do feel somewhat worried for the under 18 year olds working until early hours in the morning. They seem tired and sluggish! They are all so lovely, but considering there are 17 year olds working until 2-3am, it shocks me!

Had our wedding at Seargents Mess last weekend and it couldn't have gone any better! The team, service, venue and food were exceptional. Christine our coordinator was also super friendly and helpful along the whole process! Our bridal attendant Kiera was very accommodating to the bridal party on the night as well! Great work team!?

What a fantastic place. The food was good, the view was fantastic and the service nothing short of perfect. We had the pleasure of being served by ivy and Aaron! Of course everything was good, but their fun vibe really made my evening! I look forward to revisiting sergeant’s mess soon!

Such a fantastic wedding venue, the staff were so accommodating, everyone from Isabelle who originally showed us through the venue, to Lily our amazing Wedding Coordinator to the staff who helped us on the night. The team allowed us to create a unique wedding that was customised to suit us and our guests and were always willing to be flexible and meet our needs. Highly recommend this venue for both its location, it’s friendly staff and it’s flexibility in allowing you to create a truely unique wedding

The space is amazing, we were there for a wedding. There are so many amenities. It rained on this day and the space was still excellent. View is gorgeous when not raining.

It was a hot day, we didn't feel the air condition, view was nice but the stage is in the middle of the long hall so its hard to see the main people.

I had my wedding at Sergeants Mess and it truely was a 5 star wedding experience. The food, the service, the harbour views and the support on the day really was perfect. I had an event coordinator who was very attentive in the lead up to the ceremony, she was helpful and flexible in helping me create our perfect day. On the day of our wedding we had the pleasure of working with the rest of the team - who went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day.
Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a 5 star wedding experience.

We would like to thank Christine & Tom, for your professionalism and help in our wedding. We had an amazing day, everything went so well. Everyone was impressed with the food, the wines and the view… we loved the fact there is a private bridal room. Especially grateful for the venue to let us turning the downstairs meeting room into a kids playroom, so that the parents could fully enjoy our big day. I cannot fault Sergeants Mess. From the first moment I engaged with them to the day after our wedding it was perfect, professional and seemless. Nothing was a problem. They were flexible with our design and looked after us and our guests so well on the day. It was an amazing day and we are so glad we chose Sergeants for our wedding reception!

Attended wedding. Beautiful decor, view over harbour, navy ship. Shuttle buses from free car park 4. Given serving 100.130 people very good food. Wait staff brilliant.

Christine Hinson was a pleasure to work with- she made our planning process a lot easier with organising and finalising the logistics of our wedding day. While the location of Sergeants Mess was simply a bonus, the FOOD was phenomenal! We received so many compliments regarding our pre-dinner canapés (specifically, the arancini balls & prawn tempura just to name a few), the 2 course dinner and everyone loveeddd the idea of "late night canapés" being served from 1030.

The staff on the night were very helpful and Kathleen did a great job with running the show (THANK YOU SO MUCH KATHLEEN!).
