Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve reviews
73Excellent vantage point to see dolphins and whales in season, well maintained and that stunning view wow!
Nice place to walk and enjoy the local Coffs scenery with educational information on the endemic muttonbirds that inhabit the island.
Nice nature reserve, though mostly grass and low lying bushes. Might see a mutton bird if you are lucky. Also has a whale watching station.
Loved the walk up along the marina. So many fish to see. Saw lots of whales breeching. Best views are from the top.
Really nice place to visit. Located in a small city, it’s a nice place to go with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful view!
Magic. Magic
Magic. Stunning at sunset. Beautiful place to see whales. Saw them very close, and were thrilled
Rookery for Shearwater (mutton birds) well formed walking track. Steep climb in places. Fitness level moderate. I can recommend the National Parks and Wildlife guided tours in Summer when the shearwater chicks are active. Sunset tour the adult birds return to their nests. Spectacular photos can be taken of Coffs Harbour from the top of Muttonbird Island.
Excellent views from the top of this place, recommend the hike for anyone who can handle the steep climb
A good walk up and down. Great to do daily if you want to get fit. We saw many whales O we the other side.
A beautiful walk with a chance to see whales at the headland. Why not finish off with a stop at the Fishos chippy?
Worth the climb to look back over coffs harbour and coastline to the north and south. A great place to be when the whales a in transit.
The Muttonbird island is a scenic spot from where you can get a beautiful view of Coffee Harbour Jetty and the long beaches on left and right. This place also has a small wooden bench to rest and soak in the beauty of the ocean and the mostly soothing breeze.
Every one should do this climb if you can. The view is amazing. Then walk across the top & down the other side. Sit for a while & take in the wonderful views. I try to do this walk a couple of times a week &never fail to be amazed by the changing scenery &bird life. Just do it.
