Murrays Coaches reviews
72 Ticket prices are very reasonable for budget minded people. There are limitations on how much luggage you can take which is an added bonus and prevents people stacking the holding bay with copious amounts of bags (which can be frustrating at times especially for the drivers who have to unload the under carriage). Luggage us limited to one bag (approx 32 kg) and one carry on to fit in the overhead locker or under seat.
Also the bus transit location is very centrally located and within walking distance of most hotels.
Can be difficult to adjust flexible fares. Overall really good quality service and fair prices.
Good value, coach was clean, driver was good. Seats are a little cramped for a taller person like me (180cm)
This was an excellent bus trip. Modern, clean, comfortable busses with USB charging and toilet. Smooth drive, nice drivers and staff. Effortless.
Great coach n driver n always pretty cheap on time. Great cheap service. Highly recommended. Thanks
Requested a frond seat due to my stomach getting upset after an hours drive.
They gave me number 6 although there were vacant seats in the frond 3 rows. Very uncomfortable time.
Travelled from Sydney to Canberra and back. On time and in time. Will travel again with Murray's if I got a chance.
I have travelled several times from Sydney to Canberra through Murray's Coaches and back. It's am amazing experience. They are punctual, clean, free WIFI service, chargeable USB port and also drivers are professional and friendly.
The fare is reasonable too.
So, overall great.
Murrays are the the best way to get to Canberra and their service is too good.
The Sydney branch at Haymarket is convenient and the staff is so friendly and nice, specially Chris! Thanks so much.
A good alternative to the car to do the Canberra-Sydney trips. Coaches are clean and run on time. Online booking is convenient.
It’s best to be dropped off at Jolimont in Canberra as parking nearby can be an issue.
Be aware the location you get off the coach when arriving in Sydney is not the same as when departing from Sydney. To depart from Sydney the coach is at 480 Pitt street.
Always good service and facilities like WiFi on board! Best way to travel to Canberra from Sydney!
I’ve travelled several times on the Sydney Canberra route. It’s a good service, punctual (save a few occasions when the traffic was insane), clean, good wifi on board, the drivers are very professional and friendly. The flexible tariffs and loyalty program are very advantageous if you travel frequently.
I frequently travel with Murrays and the service they offer is quiet reliable, comfort and safe and cost effective. The prices are reasonable and the staff as well are helpful in providing best of the services that are available.
I love Murray's Coaches and it's a really good depot. I recently started taking the Murray's Coach to Canberra one a month (to run my Meetups there) and I love them.
The drivers are really kind, professional and it's a very smooth ride.
The depot in Pitt St is very easy to find and boarding is very simple. Not that I have bags to go underneath the bus, but I can tell that they're really helpful and spot on there. Great people!
I adore the Murrays Coahes between Canberra and Sydney, Swift, clean, well appointed and always with good drivers and rapid check-ins.but the terminal at Central Station in Sydney is abysmal, no more than a dirty footpath mostly exposed to the weather and traffic fumes, none of the sophistication of the Canberra end of the journey. Book online and arrive late-ish.
Been traveling with Murray's for over 10 years. Never had a bad experience, a very reliable service with friendly drivers.
Bus is clean and tidy, has USB slots and free wifi (little laggy). Theres a no noise policy for rides, so easy to rest.
Loyalty program rewards you with a free trip every 5 trips too. Price has gone up unfortunately with covid.
If you take a bus ride during a more peak hour it's probably nicer to book 2 seats for yourself if you go alone with covid around. You may be required to wear a mask, look for warnings.
Seating is already prearranged now so you can not chose your seating now either.
Clean busses that run an efficient service. USB chargers. Bonus is the fake wood floor. Everybody wins.
Good private bus service with comfortable seats. You need to book in advance. Their bus ride from Sydney to Canberra is reasonably quick. They used to have a larger range of trips but this seems to have reduced with COVID. Their Central bus stop is opposite the Christ Church St Laurence and the Wake Up! Backpacker accomodation.
Travelled between Sydney and Canberra a few times with Murrays - no social distancing during COVID times - coach is almost fully seated with a person next to you. Seats aren't very clean (had food crumbs on them) - always had to wipe them down myself before taking a seat. Only plus is it's cheaper than flights, and takes about the same amount of time. Also, somehow the AC on the afternoon coach trips NEVER works, took the Sydney-Canberra coach a few times on the 4pm/7pm trips, and the bus was VERY hot. Not worth.
What happened to staff handling customers' luggage in and out of the baggage compartment? Lots of elderly and infirm people had to wrestle their stuff out in Sydney after driver totally disappeared. Some even had to climb in. Again in Canberra an infirm man had to ask driver to get his walker out. Covid rules?
