I’ve had two bad experiences at properties managed by Jamesons. The first was at 22 Peel St in Kirribilli in June 2020. They had contracted some labourers to undertake improvements on the ground floor entrance. Unfortunately a safe alternative route was not provided so I had to exit the building from the car port roof- literally the tradies helped to lower me to the ground from about 2 metres high onto a plastic chair in the backyard of the neighbours property. When I expressed my concern I received a ‘Thankyou for your concern… I will liaise with the committee and get back to you’ from a Minal Kulkarni, but never heard back.

The second instance was at 2 Parkes st in Kirribilli. The lift was broken and I was on the eighth floor. Unfortunately this was the week I was moving out. I had to hire a professional removalist service to assist me at a great cost to myself. When I requested my costs be reimbursed, I received a response from Kinen Lau saying ‘ (the board) have decided to reject your removalist compensation request…Even though the lift were out of action it was an unforeseen event which affected all residents. ’

While I can appreciate there must be a lot of work behind the scenes I don’t get to see, it’s a great shame and disappointment that on the two occasions I was in a really tricky spot Jamesons weren’t there to help. I would not recommend this company.

Unethical charge of residents for the services which are not done.
They arranged an electrician after working hours to just turned on my unit's electricity through the main switch in our floor.but the electrician could not find the mainswitch door's key and couldn't fix the issue. After 3 days, Jamesons Starata Management sent me a bill ($466) to be paid. They have come up with a made-up story that the electrician has already told you that does not have the key but you still asked them to come.isn't ridiculous? Please be careful about such unethical charges and report them.

The management allowed my neighbor to install floorboard with insufficient sound insulation.
They blatantly rejected my complaint and said it is between the owners.
Why do we pay them to manage?

It is their duty to enforce the by-law.

I am now living in a unit under elephant stomps days and nights.
Thank you Jameson, you make any property owner WORTHLESS.

Response to Jameson: with the last strata management, the rules for sound proofing for floorboard is very high, until you come into the management.
Though it is BC decision, but you didn’t provide good advice to the board.
Instead, you are trying to shut me up.

Trying to deal with this strata is impossible.
Extremely poor management.
They can’t even organise a simple repair

If there was a zero star I would give it a zero. Totally unprofessional strata manager Yvonne Moore hiding behind solícitos of a debt collection company after their own mistakes. LANDLORDS BEWARE OF THIS STRATA MANAGEMENT AS THEY TAKE LANDLORDS TO COURT AND CHARGE EXTRA FEES FOR THEIR OWN MISTAKES. They were sending the strata invoices to the wrong address and charging The landlord penalties. We have a NCAT hearing coming up to request the refund of the overcharged fees As they are refusing to make good for their data entry mistakes. It took more than 1 year for them to realise their mistake.

Not too impressed with our strata manager due to lack of transparency, inconsistency in advice to EC regarding interpretation and application of strata rules, email communication lacks clarity…

I highly recommend Christina Han from Jamesons Strata Management. Christina is very knowledgeable, proactive, professional and a pleasure to deal with. I am so grateful for her excellent management of our building's strata.

Under the compulsory management of this company we were handed back an owners corporation in a state of insolvency. The total mismanagement of finances and unprofessional approach was horrible.

They deducted the plumbing fee from your paid levy and said you owed them partial of levy as method to force you to pay the plumbing fee which was owner corporation responsible.
Was very unfortunate to have this strata who bringing you endless headache.

I cannot speak highly enough of Jessica Kaye at Jamesons, our Strata Manager who at all times has been extremely professional, courteous, efficient and prompt in responding to all matters that need addressing pertaining to our block.
Not only is Jessica is an excellent Strata Manager with a vast knowledge of Strata Law, she is also extremely helpful, always accessible and has been a pleasure to deal with on every occasion.
As testament to the caring nature of Jessica, she didn’t hesitate to personally assist me on a rather difficult Strata matter that was not directly related to our Strata block. I have no hesitation in recommending Jamesons and in particular Jessica Kaye - you will be hard pressed to find a more outstanding Strata Manager.

Through my position as Treasurer of our Strata Plan I have found Jessica Kaye from Jamesons to be highly professional and responsive to all Strata Committee and owners requests. Jessica always provides excellent advice on all the complex issues our building is experiencing.
Her extensive strata knowledge and legal training gives every owner a sense of security knowing we are in very capable hands.

Working as a Building Manager for more than a decade, I have come across my share of strata managers. I have to give credit where credit is due. One of the most knowledgeable and professional strata managers I have ever worked with, would have to be Jessica Kaye.
Having the support of such a proactive, experienced strata manager definitely made my job easier.

My wife, Marlene, and I wish to congratulate and thank Jessica Kaye for her outstanding professionalism and courtesy as Strata Manager of Cheryle Gardens, 560 Military Road, Mosman, where we own a unit occupied by our daughter and her family. We have needed to call on Jessica a number of times to arrange repairs and deal with other matters relating to the unit and the apartment block. She has always responded quickly and with the utmost efficiency. She is a pleasure to deal with. We are fortunate to have her as Strata Manager and couldn't ask for better service.

My husband and I recently had our first experience with strata living as owner occupiers. Jamesons have provided an excellent service as we navigated our way through all different situations in our complex since we moved in. In recent months we have had a new strata manager, Christina Han, who has hit the ground running with her professionalism, responsiveness and extensive strata knowledge. She is patient and explains things clearly, but is also direct and doesn't waste time on trivial issues. I am so glad Christina is on board, and feel that we are in good hands.

I purchased my property in November and settled in December, but Jamesons LOST the document to put me on the strata title and only once I followed up did we discover this. After living in the property for a month and constant follow ups and re-sending the same document TWICE again by myself and my conveyancer, I was finally on the strata title on the 24th January.

I emailed a list of things I needed assistance with on the 20th February including a leaking window - zero response.

I lodged a request with their online system for the same issues and 11 days later followed up again after no movement to finally have a response. By this point my leaking window had wood that was beginning to rot as well.

Their minutes for the meetings were sent across 4 months after the meeting itself and are not thorough enough when it comes to what was discussed and then decided on, it only shows what was decided on. As a new owner the previous information is vital for me to catch up and actively understand how the building is being managed.

I've just gotten strata levies that are also $400 over what the minutes state with no arrears or explanation and cant get a hold of anyone to ask what is going on.

My career is corporate client services, I speak from experience when I say I know what should be good client service, Jameson's definitely do not have it

This is a totally dysfunctional strata management company. I would not recommend them to anyone. Stay away! Our strata manager doesn't respond to emails or phone calls. He doesn't provide information that all owners should receive. For example, our building has many defects. An inspection report was prepared by engineers. But the strata manager refuses to provide that report to all the owners. He is pandering to the committee members who don't want to spend money on repairs.

The biggest scammers and dishonest business by far in Sydney.
They seem ok once signed on they are by far the worst company to deal with.
Do not use them.

Different processes depending on who you talk to, no receipt, no communication but you have to pay upfront and cant ask too many questions. Would hate to have to deal with anything more complicated than a spare door pass.
