Good amount of space, but poor design for utilisation.
Weights equipment is pretty old too. Definitely need some cages and rearrangement.

I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS and find the staff friendly and gym equipment overall good and well maintained.

Fitness first top Ryde horrible experience. Never join them.

I joined fitness first top Ryde via a friend referral. Initially they told me it will be 1 month free and no joining fees.

Just after 2 weeks of free, they started deducted amount from my account. I talked to them and they said it will be sorted soon. I talked to them personally and call over phone, usually they always say will talk to manager but no response from them yet.

I had a talk to there manager once - David and he said he will sort it out but nothing till date. The reception desk is really not cooperating on the matter. I have to cancel my service going forth.

Recommendation: Don’t join fitness service, they are so many gyms outside.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! If I can I would give them 0. Tried to cancel my membership and they are still charging my credit card with hundreds of dollars months later. Contact them manager, they always said contact me in a few days, but never contact you I'll take further action with the NSW Fair Trade Commission!

Great gym. Equipment is improving very slowly. Classes are good but additional classes pre Covid have not been reinstated.

Top Ryde fitness first don’t send membership fee invoice at all… I asked many times for my monthly membership invoice, they never send to me. I couldn’t understand why it is so hard to send a simple invoice.

Unfortunately the customer service is awful, shocking and miserable!

You pay for platinum service but nothing works properly there. They switch off Sauna at 9pm. Swimming pool and steam room are out of service for couple of last days.

If you ask question and expecting a proper answer! This is the answer! We are going to fix them ASAP and the issues are there for months and months.

I believe not customer service and not even management cares and feels a bit responsibility. They are just trying to get more customers to work out with their old and rusty equipments.

This is awful and I wish I would have a look in your rate and reviews here and trust them before joining there and wasting my money and also seeing those miserable unfriendly and unhappy faces in front of your counter!

I signed up for the free 1 month trial at the end of 2021. After deciding that this gym wasn't right for me (old equipment, not enough space, not enough machines etc.) I cancelled the free trial within the first 30 days. Fitness First Top Ryde proceeded to then contact me asking for money via emails and texts because I was behind on my payments. I have called them back 3 times and every single time I have been told it's an error and that the manager will contact me to resolve this issue. At this stage no one has contacted me and it is the end of Feb.

I continue to receive debt collection messages from a number of agencies asking me to pay for the outstanding amount on my membership.

Moral of the story: don't join this gym, don't even sign up for the free trial.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! Did 2 weeks of free trial with them, used the gym twice, tried to cancel my trial and they are still charging my credit card with hundreds of dollars months later. Called them 3 times since, said on the phone they won't charge me anymore and will contact me in a few days and they tried to charge me again 2 days later. They are completely ruining the Fitness First brand. I'll take further action with the NSW Fair Trade Commission! No wonder why their rating is 2.8 with many similar ratings as mine.

Fitness first is not a gym for corporate employees who need monthly tax invoice for reimbursement. Spoke with multiple receptionists but they are unable to give me monthly invoices. The email inquiries also go unread.
Won’t renew my contract just because they dont provide receipts online!

Location close to home. Parking friendly and friendly staff.
Noisy music and environment, price is not competitive.
Overall 2.5 stars.

Gym is alright but members there are pretty bad and uncultivated.
They like to drop heavy equipment to the flooring and I tried to stop them once they were very rude about it.
Told the gym staff but nothing was done.

PLEASE DON'T GO HERE.

WHEN YOU WANT TO CANCELL THEY CHARGE YOU FOR A MONTH.

MY INTIAL CONTRACT WAS 6 MONTHS BUT HAD TO FREEZE AS I WAS OVERSEAS AND IT WAS ON FREEZE FOR LONGTIME AS I WAS STUCK OVERSEAS AND THIS YEAR I THOUGHT TO CANCEL CAUSE OF VIRUS AND I HAVEN' T BEEN TO THE GYM SINCE LAST JUNE AND THEY HAVE CHARGED ME FOR A MONTH OF MEMBERSHIP AND ALSO SAYING THAT I HAVE ANOTHER PAYMENT DUE NEXT MONTH. I WILL NEVER USE FITNESS FIRST AGAIN

Swim First is definitely NOT recommended. Paid for the full term, got 1 an ok lesson and the second one with a different teacher experiencing really bad incident due to the lack of care and attention, almost causing my daugther to drown and giving her trauma.

Sent an email to "manager" not even got any apology (or in english you can say or type "SORRY") from both teacher and manager - this is enough to reflect their quality and service.

Not going to bother coming back, with no refund due to their "T&C" - you can take my money but thanks for this experience, my few other friends who wants to apply together with me have cancelled their intentions.

Luckily in the same place there is a better swim school and happy with their service. Good luck and no wonder the price is "competitive"

Fitness first are kidding themselves a bit calling this a Platinum club. The equipment is ageing and often out of order. Even the bathrooms have broken taps (men's bathroom 2/3 of the taps are loose). Equipment is clearly worn out, the dumbells never organised even early in the day.

Update
The tap has now been fixed but the club is generally not amazingly maintained. The cleaning wipes often run out over the weekend and are not re-stocked. Paper towels run out in the bathrooms etc.

Not all fans were turned on or working during a class and it was very hot and uncomfortable as class was full. Plenty of classes to attend though and lots of equipment.

I'm a regular member but I found a few times already where there is no regular checks of the covid safe facilities like the wipes being available. A few times the wipes were empty and I reported to staff but they are not replenished immediately as there is only one staff at reception. Policy is to wipe equipment before and after use which is impossible if no wipes available. And I have found many times people don't bother to wipe down after use. This makes me feel unsafe to come to this gym. I understand staff cannot leave reception unattended which means they should have regular checks a few times a time to ensure all the covid safe facilities are readily available. General feeling I get is that it is not taken seriously at all. And I have received case alerts from this location so obvious there are regular exposure to positive cases. If this continues then I have no choice but to cancel membership for my own safety.
