Don’t go to this gym. My friend got harrassed by a PT there multiple times and the PT was MARRIED. She complained to management and their excuse was “Hes just friendly”. So unprofessional.

I dont know about the atmosphere inside the gym but I've been verbally harassed by the fitness first workers at the shopping centre on multiple accounts as they were trying to talk people into joining fitness first. One of them (Asian dude) even made comments about my bottom as I walked by. I don't think I will ever set foot inside the gym if the employees cannot conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner.

This is probably the lowest tier 'Platinum' gym location you can get for a Fitness First. Free weight placement is uncomfortably close to the machines, positioning of machines are all over the place and not consistent and some are poorly maintained. Leg press machine padding is next to useless as you can pretty much feel the skeleton of the machine press against your spine while you work out.

Additionally the lockers all seem to be locked out and a lot of time was wasted looking for an available one. Please upgrade to the standard key card lockers all other Fitness First gyms use. It shows customers what is free and without having the need to fiddle with dial locks all day long. I highly doubt there were 100+ males using the gym at one time on a Monday night.

What was also an unpleasant experience is the pool in the gym that leaves a heavy chlorine odour permeating throughout the area. This in combination with other humans sweating is not a pleasant scent. Additionally, the no cap rule was not enforced so I saw plenty of people just swimming casually. Why even have the rule in the first place if this is not governed properly?

I would rather drive to another local branch. Cannot recommend it.

I had a terrible experience with Fitness First. I enrolled for just one month, and during the enrollment process, I specifically asked the person assisting me if it was for a one-month program. However, after the first month, I discovered that they continued to deduct money from my account. When I called to address this issue and spoke to the manager, he informed me that I needed to sign another form for a one-month program. Unfortunately, the person who enrolled me failed to mention this requirement. They seem to take money from customers' accounts using these excuses instead of improving the quality of their service. I would not recommend Fitness First to anyone

A staff wearing staff uniform named himself Alex M, kept occupying the disable toilet for his own purpose for more than 20mins, in the time of children’s swimming class.

Parents have to wait in a long queue. And he asked why we could not use other bathrooms. Simply because a dad need to wash two girls and they do not want to go to males room.

He been complained from other parents before and he did not look disable physically, not sure if mentally.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staffs! All the classes are very fun. Perfect for swimming with my kids. But I sometimes can see some dusts in the gym area.

I work out at Fitness First in the Top Ryde Shopping Centre five times a week, and I must say, the facilities are outstanding. The gym is equipped with top-of-the-line exercise equipment, making every workout session efficient and effective.

The variety of exercise machines and weights caters to all fitness levels, allowing me to tailor my workouts to my specific goals. Whether it's cardio, strength training, or functional exercises, Fitness First has it all.

What truly sets this gym apart is its commitment to member convenience. The spacious layout ensures that there's always ample room to exercise comfortably. The locker rooms are clean and well-maintained, providing a hassle-free experience before and after workouts.

The professional trainers and staff at Fitness First are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. They are always available to offer guidance and assistance, ensuring that I get the most out of my workouts.

Another fantastic aspect is the variety of group fitness classes available. From high-intensity interval training to yoga and everything in between, these classes keep my workouts fresh and engaging.

Overall, Fitness First at the Top Ryde Shopping Centre is my go-to fitness destination. The excellent facilities, expert staff, and convenient location make it the perfect place to work towards my fitness goals. Stealing money after you finish your contract. No other gym does such nasty thing. No aircon for weeks. No hot water for days. Don’t sign anything with them.

If you are thinking of joining a gym, this is not the one.

When I sought to terminate my membership, I received incorrect information regarding the option to continue at a reduced rate without a contract. Despite this information, I was charged at the original higher rate. In response, I visited the gym in person and was informed by a staff member that my plan had not been altered and that it was, in fact, subject to a 12-month contract. Consequently, I requested the staff member to terminate my membership, which they indicated would be concluded within a month.

Shortly thereafter, I received a text message from Fitness First, inquiring whether I wished to secure a discounted rate for a friend. In response to this communication, I replied affirmatively. Subsequently, I received an email from FF stating that my departure from the gym was no longer taking place.

These actions by FF are deemed to be misleading and deceptive in nature. Furthermore, the two personal training sessions promised to me upon initial registration were not provided as agreed.

Then received a call from the manager who said everything was sorted and he would email me confirmation. Even FF admitted that the wording of the SMS was ambiguous. Its been 3 days, still waiting for manager to email or even call.

No one cares at this place. Everyone gets a salary and goes home happy.

I joined not long ago, staffs there aren't professional. Half of the lockers do not lock. No hot water in the shower, it is now winter. Overall experience is below par, all they want is you to sign up.

What a fantastic experience! The service was impeccable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The product selection was impressive, and I found exactly what I was looking for. Prices were reasonable, and the quality was top-notch. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!

Overall this place is great.friendly staff and clean facilities.the only reason I've knocked a star is the lack of bumper plates and a lifting platform.this would make exercises like deadlifts, snatches, and clean and jerks safer/quieter for gym goers.

By far and away the worst gym I’ve ever trained in. Plates dropped all over the floor, dumbbells of various weights strewn through the racks. However the worst part was people wiping down machines/benches and throwing their dirty wipes on the ground and leaving them there.

At 5: 30pm on a Thursday it was peak hour and there was more than enough staff on to restore this gym to some semblance of order.

Additionally, this gym is apparently a ‘platinum’ club according to fitness passport and requires some sort of extra membership. I wouldn’t pay a cent to train here let alone extra money. Massive L.

Do not join "swim first". My daughter had an accident on the second lesson and caused her temporary trauma.
We sent email to the manager however no apology from the teacher nor manager.
We had paid for 10 lessons however decided to stop on the 2nd and due to their T&C they didn't refund the money.
Tthey can take the money but I'll never ever recommend this place for your child (ren).

Rude staff/customer service. Cancelling was impossible and they still overcharged and refused to refund the difference. Even though it’s clear in T&Cs - not helpful what so ever

Great space to work out! It does get extremely crowded in the late afternoons as a whole heap of high school kids descend in there but otherwise, it's great! The pool is a good addition for those who use it. Quite a few group exercise spaces as well!

Gym is ok. But sometimes some cry members smash the equipment so hardly and gym staff wouldn't stop them. Suggest to come at night hence less people.

Very dirty gym and to busy.to be a member you can the next minute in reception.to cancel you have to send an email to the manager who replies late and obviously takes time before you activate the cancellation. They told me 25 days of notice but i waited 37 days plus a week.with this technique they steal millions of $, is marketing…

My son use the swimming pool for his lesson. The pool has a toilet which is convenient but it needs regular cleaning as the smell is really bad.

Although Platinum gym, the quality of this gym had deteriorated over the years. It has extremely poorly maintained toilets, one word - unsanitary. Especially if you're going for evening sessions. Understandably this is a busy gym and that weekdays afternoon to evening time is a busy period but there is no cleaner stationed to do routine clean ups during that busy time. Numerous members had complained multiple times to staff and I had spoken to the General Manager about it. Nothing was done about it. In all fairness, it's not up to them but for the price you pay, it is not worth it. The only reason I go to this gym during those time is to attend some of my preferred fitness class instructors' group fitness class and friendly members that I had gotten to know over the years. I would generally avoid the club during busy hours, rather head to Carlingford or Macquarie FF for weighs if I'm not after a specific fitness class. For the toilet situation, occasionally there would be one cubicle that is not too bad and you can use it. But there has been times where I would go down to the shopping centres and use the public toilets there, which is sad really. I'll probably reconsider if some of my preferred group fitness instructors have other suitable timeslots in other nearing branches/gyms really. Hope it improves.
