67My home gym for 15yrs. Overall a well run gym, good size pool, quite well maintained modern equipment and the personal trainers are great at what they do. Front desk staff are also nice and friendly (some better than others). Amenities are good, but the gym does get busy so if you like it quiet pick your training times wisely.
Pros:
Plenty of group classes to choose from in the morning, afternoon and evening with quality instructors.
Easy and quick membership and class sign up process.
Cons:
Need more regular cleaning of the steam room, toilets, and change room. Please make it compulsory for people entering the steam room to cover their seat with a towel, don't sit there with their underwear only, it is unhygienic and causes smell. Water on the floor in the change room needs to be wiped. Studio needs to install an air purifier as odour from the gym floor enters the room. Overall, more efforts by staff and rules for members when it comes to hygiene and sanitation.
Showers are absolutely disgusting covered in black mould there is black mould dripping from the ceiling in all of the showers and it is so bad that there is black mould even on sealed tiles and glass and on the doors.
Incredibly unhealthy and unbelievable I don't think they are cleaning it at all.
FF have responded with a generic message. How about going in to those showers and see the black mould everywhere is absolutely out of control. So bad when I wiped my hand over the tiles my hand went black. Go and fix it please it's unbelievable that you would not be aware of this
First signed up to a pre paid package, the sign up experience was pretty poor. Was not even shown around. When I finally met my trainer, he was floored that I wasn't. I was just told to pay and leave. My trainer understands my needs and requirements as I have a bad back and always provides me with knowledge and a program that is suitable. Mind you sometimes you can't use the equipment you need as its being used could be more available.
Recently re signed for 12months, my sales person Mandy has been very helpful. But regarding the other front office staff are absolutely useless. When I arrived at the gym this morning they tried to make me pay again as I paid for 12 months up front. Ah no! They have no idea of their product and whats going on. Ive seen a lot of complaints about the older lady at reception and agree, she is so rude. I can't understand why she is still there.
IF the owners/ managers train their admin staff properly FF would be a much better gym. Come on FF you can do better
Often have swimming classes leaving only two lanes for patrons to swim, and 3 ppl max each lane. They would tell you to get out when they start vacating lanes for swimming classes. Staff (Rebecca) very rude talking at you like police. Water everywhere on the floor and ceiling sometimes leaking water, hot bed for warts etc. Considering cancelling membership.
Disgusting customer service, they don’t care about members, specially young brunette receptionist. Never going back
I have been to many fitness first and honestly Chatswood Platinum is by far one of the best gyms I’ve visited. In regards to their superb staff, Ryan and JC have always welcomed me with a warm smile and friendly wave which has really boosted my morale and aided in motivating me to visit the gym more. Not only are they very welcoming but they also assisted in answering the many queries I had in regards to my payment. Apart from the staff this gym is extremely clean and always has wipes and plenty of signs to remind you to wipe down and social distance. Honestly only recommending friends and family to come here so they too can receive quality treatment! Thank you for helping me work towards my fitness goals!
As a member Chatswood had everything I needed for training- even a pool, steam room and hot yoga options on rest days!
It's a great place to be, the members and staff go above and beyond to work as a team in keeping the club a positive & clean environment
Plenty of equipment and a large pool catering to those that want to distance swim, gentle exercise, or do a set aquarobics class. Great for teaching kids (and adults) to swim with specialist instructors. I learnt to swim as a mature adult well enough to do sprint length triathlons.
Try some of the other classes; RPM, BodyPump etc.all with high standard expert instructors catering from first timers through to the experienced.
Amazing quality of the equipment, staff and changing rooms. There could be no better gym around. The amazing staff help wherever you need, specially the front receptionists Ryan & JC. They will make sure the gym feels like a 2nd home.
I wish there was a negative star review available. My 12-month membership expired 4 month ago, but they still charge me. I went there in-person two month ago and they said they fixed the issue but they still take money from my account. This is the most disgraceful experience I have ever had.
I am visiting Chatswood to see family and having recently had surgery on a fractured elbow have been swimming for physio in my hometown of Mount Isa, QLD. When I enquired about the pool at this gym I was given a 5 day free pass. I used the pool every day. Facilities were fabulous, staff were awesome, especially Tara, who was so helpful and friendly and made me feel so welcome. Thanks Tara, you are lovely.
Would be great if not for the very rude girl (Rebecca?) at reception most Sundays. The blonde man who's on with her most weeks is not much better, either. Witnessed them both being patronising to members and staff on multiple occasions.

The front desk old lady is rude every time I go there. She is acopic and she takes out the frustration for her incompetence on customers. Very unprofessional and unnecessarily pedantic. She told me off for not telling her that I was a "fitness passport" member when she did not even give me a chance to talk.
Reception desk is sooooooooo very RUDE (so so very rude) and unwelcoming, premises run down, generally a very poor experience.
Honestly most of staff there are very nice and happy to help BUT their so called manager lady who’s very unwelcoming at the front desk. Doesn’t even smile and gets angry at the customer for something the staff member did wrong by not handing out the emergency contact card that I was never given in the past many months I’ve been attending this gym. The manager is very very rude. Go to Willoughby Fitness First they’re worth the little drive.
First of all, for the price of this gym i was expecting something amazing, but the machines except for a tiny "members area" are all old fashioned. Then on top of that is the already ridiculous pricing.
And then with the high price and bad equiptmetn i wasnt expecting to be treated like a king, but as a human being. Can we get an F in chat becuase i did not recieve that either from very rude front desk staff that were always looking for a reason to not let me in the gym or punish me in any way. If they were unable to, the look on their face would say it all, along with the harsh tone. Especially Gilda.
Terrible customer service. I called and asked to have my membership cancelled and found out two months later they were still automatically billing me. When I called again to follow this up they claimed that I never called to cancel. I have lodged a complaint to fair trading about their service and I would suggest any others who have experienced the same to lodge a complaint too!
In what way FF Chatswood charges around $30 for no air-con, poor equipments too.
