Ashfield Aquatic Centre reviews
71Great old water polo venue due to close for redevelopment in mid April 2018 and due to reopen in 2020.
This has been revamped some years ago. There are good and bads, the bad news is that the awesome waterslides are gone! I love them when I was a kid.
The good is that just like all modern pools they have now an indoor heated pool. The indoor pool is so chlorinated that it is almost blinding. But the modern kids are used to that, and you will find 80% of the patrons in the indoor area.which is the good news, the outdoor pools are now nice and clean since hardly anyone use it because they have grown soft and can't swim in unheated water.
A very good place for learning swimming around as well as for casual time at the pool. Has a lot of classes for kids.
Alas this place is going to be closed from this school term: ( (last classes the week after Easter before shutdown for 2 years or more for renovation).
The stands are of a good size to fit a big school, the toilets are somewhat clean, and the canteen sells big portions of food but it takes an hour just to get hot chips.
Very friendly staff and helpful instructors. Enjoyable swimming lessons and fun recreation and leisure swimming.
Prices are a bit cheaper than other pools but what you pay is what you get. A usable but deteriorating pool.
Shame on Ashfield council to waste people's money instead of renovating pool!
Expensive entry for falling apart pool.
Both my girls attend the swimming classes at Ashfield. I gotta say the instructors are great with them. You can also take your kids swimming for free during the school terms if you sign up for the swimming classes.
The reception was rude, she does not accept coins, and you need to ask for the receipt then she will put it on the table without even look at you. The water is quit warm and nice, other staff were nice.
The only good thing is the big parking, other then that the facility is old and in awful state!
Bathrooms are very dated, smell and dirty.
Pools are schocking! Missing lots of pool tiles inside! Very poor looking facility for the rates we pay!
