Art Gallery of New South Wales reviews
76Treasures of the Russian Hermitage Collection was a great experience. Many greats of modern art, lots of Matisse and Picasso, many beautiful paintings, so much colour!
A museum befitting one of the world's great cities. A half day is simply not enough to enjoy everything the museum has to offer. The exhibit from The Hermatige was an unexpected treat; if you don't travel internationally, it's a rare opportunity to view works from major, influential artists. A gem!
Such a sensational experience seeing Lady and the Unicorn. So many other terrific exhibitions to view as well. Love the virtual reality artwork, Henry 8th painting, so much joy and interactive fun. There were guided tours of various exhibitions. Could easily spend a whole day here and then some.
I went to the Spacemakers and Roomshakers exhibition the the AGNSW and had quite a lot of fun. Vibrating balls, furry forests and a room full of spice filled stockings! Art is getting playful!
Saw the Masters and Impressionist exhibitions which were great. A few pics of my favorites. Only issue I have with gallery would be floor plan for those not familiar with the building.
Sharing details of my experience with the exhibition 'deal' at the Chiswick. Choice of main meal limited to two, of which the flathead was the worst I have ever eaten. It was more a 'deal' than a meal. Next time, I'll take my family yo the cafe. At least you can see what you're getting there.
One of my favourite galleries in Sydney. The collections/exhibitions are always very interesting and intriguing. The place itself is also quite grand and beautiful.
All things arts. A beautiful place in a beautiful part of the town, wonderfully built, spacious. For art lovers visiting to Sydney, this is a must see. Look out for special exhibitions.
Great place to go, much is free. Art After Hours on Wednesdays is always a wonderful mix, often surprising, unexpected and fun. Highly recommend visiting and even joining.
Art wasnt too bad. I liked the building and its architecture too. Go and visit but dont wear a back pack.they dont like it in case you damage a pic which is fair enough.
I absolutely love this place. The quality of the permanent collection, the incredibly beautiful building, the staff, the gallery shop, the coffee. I have never left feeling anything but absolute delight. It's an absolute gem of tranquility and beauty in the city.
I love fortnightly one hour visits. A great place to open your thoughts. Mornings are best for me Lovely outdoor cafe setting with herb garden. Good coffee.
I am biased, I am a member. This is a great place to spend hours lost in colour and form. There are eating places, there is good coffee, and no one to judge what you think about art. Just go and enjoy it!
Really enjoy this gallery every time I visit Sidney - it always hosts thought provoking exhibitions. The Gallery itself is beautiful and hosts great art work! Really enjoyed the cafe for a lunch and of course for a coffee, inexpensive as well!
Always worth a visit whether for the permanent collection, the international, temporary exhibits or a delicious bite to eat (locally sourced). A world class gallery, melding old and new, in a beautiful building and spaces.
One of Australia's best public institutions with free entry to the permanent collection. A great selection of Australian, Asian and International artists.
