One of my favourite places in Sydney. Always brilliant staff members to help make my visit an exceptional one! I love the artworks on display every time I visit. Being a member is also worth it. Cheers.

It's very grand but very friendly. Art lovers and complete novices welcome. There is always free exhibits alongside the showpiece and a decent cafe for after.

It was great, always pleasant to visit. The gift shop is brilliant with very fair prices. The wife range of events is really good for all art enjoyed.

Great to visit and special we could view the Archibald paintings today, Such a good day. Though they lost a star as we needed to wait 30 minutes for only 1 staff member to check 70 anxious attendees in!

I love this place- There is a dynamic mix of art here from contemporary Aboriginal art, old masters, Art Express work (high schoolers), sculpture and contemporary painters. The Archibald portrait painting prize has a captivating mix- finally with more female painters represented.
There are ever changing exhibitions, a terrific shop, great for gifts for overseas visitors, art books, jewellery, kids books. Enthusiastic staff and volunteers. Don't be intimidated- ask them questions!
The gallery also runs workshops in their studio downstairs. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching kids cartooning workshops and bind your own artist's Journal for adults. Check them out under the events tab on their website.

Very nice place. Open and spacious. I had no idea how big it was. Definitely do not expect to see everything in a day. Very clean and friendly vibe.

So glad to be able to visit a gallery. We saw the Archibald art prize - this year's as well as the 100 year retrospective. Not enough time to view much else, sadly. Very efficient voting for People's Choice Award. Café downstairs was good even though it was crowded to COVID capacity.

Only one person serving for tickets to use NSW Vouchers made the waiting too long.
Always a magic day out going to the Gallery!

A lovely place to spend time and enjoy the many styles and colours that art is. Some you love, others not so much.it's all subjective, but it's beautifully laid out and a peaceful place to be

Great place to visit in Sydney. I took my dad and teenage daughter. They liked it there. Aboriginal pictures and art is breathtaking!

The NSW Art Gallery is one of my favourite galleries of all time.

You wouldn't say that I'm into art; BUT I LOVE THIS PLACE.

You have a great variety of art for all tastes, a great cafe, easy parking (in the Domain Car Park) and top staff.

I'm thinking about becoming a member there too.

LOVE THEIR WORK!

Absolutely disappointment by the lack of infrastructure is for prams, the lift was broken and it was hard to find an indication on where to get another lift but the most disappointing thing is that the cafeteria below the restaurant will not warmup baby food, they said as a policy…this in unacceptable in 2021, it means that for this State Gallery culture is not for families!

The Gallery fabulous as ever. However why would cafe close at 3pm on a Long weekend Sunday when the Gallery bustling and Archibald's on until 5.00pm?

At least once a year I bring my family here. I personally love the Romantic, Renaissance and Impressionist works, but there are also extensive contemporary, abstract, Australian and indigenous collections. I must admit I tend not to eat in their cafe as it is a little pricey. Our average visit time is 2-3 hours.

Always love a visit to the Gallery. Yesterday did a free tour of the National with Katherine who was a great guide, who focused our attention on some beautiful art, some thought provoking art and art that provokes a response. All of it fascinating. I thoroughly recommend a visit to this exhibition, its art thats current. Immerse yourself.

Eine phantastische Ausstellungsstätte, die ich im März 2020 besucht habe. Nationale Kunst und internationale Objekte in grossartiger Präsentation. Darstellung aus der neuen Welt. Klasse! Ein Muss für jeden Kunstfreund! Besonders die Aborigines- Videoinstallation. Ich hätte Stunden länger bleiben können!

Display at entrance very interesting and thought provoking. Favourite was the older paintings, especially those in 1400 to 1700s.
