Kagawa Japanese Cuisine reviews
70Inconsiderate place. Make us move to another table half way through our dinner! Don't they know people hate getting interrupted during meal!
Total rip off!
Forgot my order, and still tried to charge for it.
Calamari was like rubber.
Horrible way to ruin someone's evening.
A disappointing experience, very upmarket prices for a sub-average quality meal and long wait time. They couldn't even get the texture of the rice correct, and that is the most fundamental requirement of any Asian restaurant. I'm not sure why this is so highly rated - whether it is because it is the only Japanese restaurant in the vicinity, there is substantially lower standards in the ACT, or that I had an unlucky pick. Also, this is far from authentic. You can tell from the wait-staff and chef conversations that they are not Japanese. Do not waste your time here.
Horrible Japanese Food that were cooked by China Chef. The Fried Chicken that I had was very small piece coated qith very very thick Batter. Can't taste the Chicken at all. Was Dry n the sauce on top tasted Weird and Sour. Husband ordered Beef but there were like less than 10 pieces of diced meat on the Plate. It came with a small bowl of steamed rice and cost $14.95.i don't mind paying more if the Food is Good! But this is a Big Mistake. Will NEVER RECOMMEND at all!
Food was not crash hot at all. Not good really disappointment since the menu looked good but did not live up to even the pictures on the menu. Greasy and not well made. It was busy maybe that was the reason why.
The food is not that good as I expected, but is Okay. However one of the staff is unfriendly and impatient, keeping us waiting after other later customers.unhappy experience.won't recommend it to others.
They changed owners and the food is bad now. Bland, smaller portions and most of it tastes to be just reheated in a microwave. Do not go here anymore, all of that's left is the name
Its overall average, the sushi came out last and took quite a while for them to prepare. The fried foods tasted pretty good but they tasted like they were frozen and bought from another wholesaler. The Kaisou salad somehow tasted fishy with the dressing. The ramen was really cloudy white and overall the quality tasted like it was upgraded instant noodles. The zaru soba noodles were pretty tasty but again it tasted like they were pre-packaged noodles. While waiting for the sushi the waiter gave us some free aburi salmon nigiri as an apology which was the best part of the meal. The sushi platter had some overall low quality ingredients. The tuna tasted as if it was stored in a freezer for weeks, same with the prawn, and the octopus nigiri. But the octopus tasted particularly fishy and weird and I normally like the octopus nigiri. The fish egg gunkan maki tasted like it was canned. The rolls were also poorly assembled and didn't have a pleasant texture. Overall the food personally tasted of low quality. The food is not terrible but I would not consider it good. Don't come here expecting anything exciting though.
Ordered a ramen udon, the udon noodles were very undercooked. The don rice bowls were ridiculously small in portion and not tasty. The most annoying thing was we were so hungry and waited about 40min for our food, when they finally came the portion wasn't even enough to feed a 10 year old girl. Very disappointed visit.
The karage chicken was great. We found the ramen and other main dishes to be super bland though and very average. Same with the curry. It wasn't bad but was definitely just the most okay Japanese place I've ever been too. Lovely staff though!
Not a real Japanese restaurant. Run by Chinese international students, from chef to waitress.
Ramen is fake. Not soba noodle, instead uses instant noodle, broth is not ramen broth, just watery soup.
Great chicken katsu pieces but no flavour in the curry sauce and very little of it. Didn't even coat the rice. Not worth the price
This is what you get for a katzu don. Skin fell off and thick. Must have been made a week ago. Very bad.
Curry was nice but when the picture on the menu has rice, I don’t think I should have to order rice. Except this place I guess. So disappointing getting home and discovering you paid $14.50 for a small slice of pork, curry sauce and a few bits of sweet potatoe.
Uber driver couldn’t pick up guest’s order, cause the restaurant is closed. It’s kind of special experience delivering food.
*Update*
While the staff were nice, this time food took a long time to come out, and was ok rather than great. So maybe just a bit hit and miss?
Cozy Japanese. Food was great.
Staff nice.
The place is cozy, so on busy nights try booking.
We were able to dine at this restaurant without a booking, and we appreciated the BYO option. The food was enjoyable, but I couldn't rate it as high as some of the other Japanese restaurants I've been to. They were extremely busy with takeaway orders which, put some strain on the lady preparing the sushi and sashimi. Therefore out of all the dishes we ordered, the sashimi came out last, which was a little bit disappointing.
There was no problem with the service, everyone was friendly and the tables were clean.
However, the food is just so-so.
The sashimi was alright but it tasted a little unfresh, the agedashi tofu was pretty good, but the ramen - don't order it:/
The pork slices I'm damn sure weren't chashu. Thick tough cuts of meat and noodles swimming in soup.
The noodles were a little soggy, and the soup was ok but didn't taste quite authentic.
Ok meal, not fantastic.
However ok for a quick meal if the other good ones like iori or raijin are closed.
The food has take a severe drop in quality. The miso tastes bland, the soups have shrunk and are blander, the takoyaki tastes like chewy batter.
The food was great, once it finally arrived! I think they lost our order so it was over 40 minutes from ordering until our food arrived, but everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the tempura and the agadashi tofu. Staff were friendly and it was inexpensive. Will give it another try in future.
