Gungahlin Medical Practice

Went in today, as I'm unable to get into either of my usual doctors until the end of the week.
I had to wait 50 minutes after my appointment time just to be rushed out the Dr. I saw him for maybe 5 minutes and didn't get a chance to ask any questions about my illness nor if they know what the cause may be.
All they did was poke my stomach, ask if I was pregnant and take my blood pressure, before giving me a medical certificate (which i told them wasn't necessary), and a medication for symptoms I told them I no longer have.

All this cost me $85 up front, $45 out of pocket. I would have rathered saved that $45 an fuel and just stayed home.

It is such an uncomfortable experience to come here, seeing how the reception staff treat people is disgusting.

My symptoms were disregarded, and I left feeling truly abandoned and ignored. Effectively no effort was put into checking what was actually wrong. I eventually sought help elsewhere which was of a much higher quality.

Very poor communication as I called to get results over the phone one said I could get my results over the phone. But called back and got told they can’t give me my results from another person (didn’t get their names).
My results were in yesterday and called to get them but they said they never got them. Called back today and still said their is no results so called the X-ray place and they sent my results in yesterday afternoon so they could give me my results yesterday but clearly don’t know what they are talking about.

Would not suggest this place to no one!

Booked online for booster. Got an appointment for Wednesday 12th. Got an SMS saying today the 10. At 2pm, 20 minutes before the appointment. Rang the practice, told them the story and was assured I'd be seen, just turn up. Arrived at 2: 35. Was told 20 minutes wait. Fair enough. Watched people arrive and then be seen. Over and over again. One and a half hours later, was told there were other patients in front of me. The receptionist was arrogant and dismissive. I tore up my paper work, which I'd already done online, only to have to do again. Really really bad service. Some people do have jobs, and can't be away from them for that time, on a false promise. If that receptionist worked for me, I'd fire her arrogant a$$ on the spot.

Staff were friendly and reassuring and very competent. I was really happy with the way I was treated on both occasions that I’ve been to this surgery.

Dr. Das is simply the star of the clinic.

Great pre and post consultation service, low waiting time and the consultation with Dr Narada Kiriella was above my expectations. I have previously seen two other doctors for the same issue and the level of care isn't even comparable.
Very happy a d from know on Dr Kiriella will be our family doctor.

Absolutely horrible with timing, told 15 minute wait but was over an hour with no updates or information as too why. Three people walked out before me.

I should have listened to the reviews.the reception staff are friendly and welcoming however there was no hand sanitiser and when it was asked to be re-filled it seemed like such a hassle to be done.lucky just in for my booster. DR Ratish was friendly.

If I could do a minus review I would poor service poor knowledge from reception staff and poor timing from doctors to get back to you all round unless your dying don’t book here

Had my Pfizer booster here. The Dr did not bother sanitising my arm before giving me the shot. He'd rather risk an infection than spending an extra 5 seconds doing his job properly. Avoid!

Very supportive and professional medical clinic in the area. Visiting there since 2014 and never thought of trying any other centre. Scrutinising health issues, prescriptions and follow up advises are always accurate and lead to quick recovery. Really appreciate their work.

Great receptionists, so kind and willing to assist. Dr Syed was a great help for overall family health.

We were recommended to move to this practice after my husband suffered an alarming health condition, that could have caused death. It has been the best decision we have made since moving to Canberra in the 90's. Now some near 8 years later are settled, and have been able to settle with a couple of doctors who suit our medical needs perfectly. They are namely Doctors rahmin and of more re ent times Doctor Islam. Both of these gentlemen are attentive to our continuing medical needs and refle t on the best progress to help resolve issues. At our ages we do not need child health but continuing care as mature patients. I have aphid so many issues resolved and clarified by these doctors and frankly, have never received better care or attention in Canberra. Just don't let either if these two doctors leave! Arrived in the am of 23 Dec 21 to receive a booster shot. The receptionist was rude, due to the fact I have my Licensened Assistance Animal with me. I was told I could not take hom with me into the doctors surgery. This is against the law, under The Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
It is high time medical receptionists, Cafe owners etc educate themselves.
The Dr was polite, professional and Friendly.

I have been going to Gungahlin Medical Practice since it started quiet a few years ago, there has been changes staff come and go just like any other business however I have found the service to be quite good and the Doctors and staff to be friendly and caring. Given the last couple of years when COVID-19 hit protocols were put in place to protect the patients and the general community and limited numbers in the surgery and social distancing was in place so yes you had to wait until it was your turn so if people want to complain as I read some of their reviews which in my opinion are unfair and unwarranted, my humble opinion THEY TRIED TO KEEP US SAFE AND THE COMMUINITY AT LARGE.

Not recommended, poor service, you'll sit and wait for an hour for a 2 min vaccination appt whilst your Dr is in clear view on their computer whilst you wait ages for them to call you in. The Dr has no idea when you arrived, they got no knowledge that you arrived on time for your booking an hour ago. Reception staff say Dr is with a patient but when your Dr room is visible from waiting area and their door is open you can see that reception gave you a generic false response as to why you have waited 45 mins, I was told Dr was with a patient but he had been on the computer by himself from when I sat down to wait. Dr was so disinterested and clearly hated his job and wanted no interaction with patients. I would never ever go there for a diagnosis or or management for an illness. You need a Dr who wants to do what they signed up for which is helping and caring about people.

I can say that this is the worst General Practice i have ever seen in my life. The staff from top to bottom is highly non professional and rude. The reception staff don’t know how to do their work and have no info about their system. The Drs lack basic ethics.
Had an appointment with Dr Abdul Syed. He is one of the rude Drs lacking basic ethics to deal with the patients and have zero knowledge in his profession too. He don’t have any manners and it was clear with his behaviour and our experience that he is mostly running late.
Lodged a formal complaint but the staff is unaware of handling the complaint and i’m not sure if Practice Manager will action that or no. I have a message to practice manager that just shut your pathetic service and open some other business. Leave this respectable profession to professionals only and don’t pollute it with your greed and pathetic staff.
