Wills Domain reviews
66One of the best dining experiences in WA - fine dining at its best and very well priced. Every dish was exceptional and the paired wines were all delicious. The service too was impeccable. Can't rate Will's Domain highly enough. Would give it 6 stars if I could! Thank you for such a memorable experience.
Phenomenal dining experience. The 7 course degustation has left me wanting to come back weekly. Just wow.
Had the 4 course degustation and the food was delicious and the location is beautiful. The lamb dish was incredible. Will definitely go back sometime to try the 7 courses!
This decadent dining adventure is an explosion of creative passion for quality and years of carefully honed skill. The end result is a relaxed dining journey, moving from one course to another until you hit the sweet spot at the end of the ride. A very enjoyable experience
Overall, the dining experience was truly exceptional. It felt like a delightful journey for my taste buds, exploring a variety of delicious dishes. Each dish was a masterpiece, perfectly balanced with rich layers of flavors and textures that intertwined into a delightful experience. I savored every bite and almost didn't want to leave a single drop of sauce on the plate.
If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this place is a must-visit.
We were a table of what might be called "experienced" diners and we quickly ran out of superlatives to describe the exceptional food in our 7 course degustation lunch. The first of two amuse-bouche really grabbed our attention and from then on through Abrolhos scallops, Capel marron, pork, chicken and lamb to the exquisite desserts, we were capitivated by this extraordinary food. Matched perfectly with wines, including a remarkable, aged Semillon, we felt very privileged. Superb service made this a truly sublime dining experience.
The 4-course meal at $109 per person promised a flavorful journey, and the dishes were indeed delightful. The attentive service added to the experience, with the staff showing genuine passion.
However, the pacing of the meal was slower than expected, making the 4-course experience stretch over 2.5 hours. While the food and service were great, the extended waiting time did affect the overall enjoyment. Despite this, if you're ready for a leisurely dining affair, this restaurant offers good food and a serene winery ambiance.
I’m sure you go here for their excellent wines, but I strongly recommend their restaurant. It was the best fine dining meal we had in Western Australia. I’d rank it higher than the Voyager (which was great too!) and Rústico. Each dish was unique, flavorful, well layered and beautifully presented.
If you haven’t tried their food yet, I strongly recommend it. And while you’re at it, try their museum wines (especially a slightly older/aged matrix)!
We had the pleasure to dine at Wills Domain in order to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We decided to splash out a bit and selected the 7 course degustation for my wife, my niece and I. We also went for the curated wines for the birthday girl.
You could tell that this would be a top notch, silver service experience even before we set foot in the restaurant. I had declared some food allergies whilst I made my booking and within an hour the restaurant contacted me to discuss these allergies in more detail and how they could modify the menu without losing its intent.
On the day of the meal we were greeted within genuine warmth and consummate professionalism, with not a mutter or a “no worries” or “she’ll be right” in sight. More importantly all the staff who served us took the time to wish my wife a Happy Birthday, so someone had the foresight to mention this to them beforehand. She was beaming from ear to ear by the end of the meal.
All throughout the meal we enjoyed friendly, knowledgeable communication from the maître d' and the wait staff. Each dish was presented with a little description of what it was, the nature of the wine accompanying it, and one got the impression that the staff actually knew what they were talking about, as opposed to simply having memorised a script beforehand.
More impressively, each dish was bespoke due to the afore-mentioned food allergies, but those tweaks took nothing away from the presentation or the taste if the positive feedback from my wife and niece was anything to go by.
Be warned, the full degustation will take approximately 3 hours as they kitchen gives you time to enjoy each morsel placed in front of you, to enjoy your wine, the view from the restaurant and to have a little chat before the next delight arrives. You never feel rushed but more importantly, once the meal has concluded you felt sated, but not full and certainly no hungry (so no Macca’s run on the way home required).
Yes there is a price to pay for such quality of food and service but for those indulging in the 7 course degustation you are actually received 9 courses if you include the complimentary Amuse bouche and the concluding Mignardises. But if such a meal is something you do annually to celebrate something important then it is well, well worth it.
It was an utterly delightful experience that I could not fault. When the menu receives its seasonal update I will certainly be back. Now I just need to save some money. It was just a shame that we had to drive back to Perth immediately after the meal but that was solely my problem, not theirs.
What a shame such a beautiful location can be destroyed by inconsiderate, unprofessional, and ignorant staff. This was an encounter with a staff member representing the brand in the public domain. As I regularly give positive in person reviews of this as mentioned "beautiful location" and the fantastic experiences that are shared with me. I feel it only fair that if someone I have recommended this venue too has a bad experience with staff, at least I can demonstrate that I am also aware of the possibility of a negative experience with staff, whether it be onsite or in public.
Linner here was amazing. Four courses of sheer delight. Had a dish of mushrooms, tofu that was the embodiment of autumn, savoury, umami, crispy and amazing.
Fantastic wedding venue. Ticks all the boxes amazing scenery, venue, food, wines and staff. Highly recommend Ellie and her team at Wills Domain.
WA’s top 2 restaurant on agfg. 3 chef hats restaurant. Service, environment, and food quality are the best. Thumbs up!
Lunch was beautiful, very creatively conceived dishes and an awesome culinary experience with every course. My only hope is for their cellar tasting service to improve. To be fair they only had 1 person doing ALL the cellar tastings for everyone, you don’t have any opportunity to ask about wines and she was very abrupt with communications, the first thing she said on arrival was ‘what time is your booking? ’ All they offered you was just entry range wines (which were average) and none of the museum wines (but we ordered them anyway at the restaurant and that was beautiful).
We got married here last month and are so pleased with our choice in venue. In the lead up to the event the team were wonderful to work with - Ellie is a superstar and super organised. The food and venue is amazing and we had so much great feedback from our guests. Thank you!
The wine tasting here is fabulous, Abergail is very knowledgeable and friendly. Stunning views.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and accommodating our timing issue. Lamb and cheesecake were sensational.
Beautiful location, attentive staff and scrumptious food. Have had to drop a star however due to the small portions. My family and I booked for the 2 course menu, on reflection we should have booked for at least 4 courses. We definitely left feeling quite dissatisfied. Can’t fault the flavours but the scallop dish in particular was tiny - 1 scallop per portion? Not sure why 2 courses is an option really.
Great great food, wine and service. Cannot fault. A must when youre in the Margaret river wine region
Just visited for a Monday lunch; it was an absolute treat start to finish.
Setting, ambiance, staff.the presentation, dedication and deliverance of the food impeccable. Standards and expectations run high for a fine-dining kitchen preparing set courses but this is of the highest order. Wills Domain's wines echo and compliment the kitchen's quality, especially with older vintages by the glass on offer. Canadian on cellar door a knowledgeable, hospitable champ too.
Lunching out at its finest, rivalling anywhere in the world.
