Whalers Restaurant reviews
71Awesome menu. Delicious food and great service. Went two nights in a row and had the reef and beef and lamb shanks the other. Great selection of beers, wine and spirits. Highly recommended if you’re coming to Exmouth.
The food was so good, a big portion with a lot of seafood and a reasonable price. Service was great too. Staff were all serving with big smiles.
Special thanks to the Spanish girl who is also a surfer for giving us the heater.
The BEST meal we had in Exmouth by far.
The service was very good and the food was amazing
the Gumbo was the highlight for me.
Great vege burger and beef burger. The fries were so crunchy and weren't oily! Only qualm was that the food took over 30 minutes to come out and there were only about 4 tables. Otherwise, friendly staff and reasonably priced food for a tourist town.
Popular restaurant, we stayed at the attached resort so had 3 dinners here. The food was delicious and of generous serving size, there is a good range of offerings on the menu. 5 stars because the chef was willing to make adjustments to cater for my dietary requirements.
Friendly staff, some were less experienced but all tried their best to help.
Lovely crunchy sweet potato fries, lovely coffee creme brulee, and a tasty seafood pasta. The seafood pasta was overhyped by other reviewers, but overall tasted quite nice and you get 2x seared scallops, 6x small but tasty prawns, and a couple mussels. The sauce was very rich and creamy, and came with some sliced mild green chilli's instead of red. We shared 1x entree, main, and dessert between two people and it was the perfect amount of food.
A few cons were that it was very difficult to flag down a waiter for service (one even made eye contact and smiled at us while walking right on past to chat to another table, and didn't come back to us), and with the doors open to the outside there were many flying insects at sunset, and we did get bitten by the mozzies.
Dinner bookings essential to secure a spot - when we booked online all but one slot was fully booked out, but when we dined 2/3 of the restaurant was empty so presumably they have a lot of no-shows.
Overall 5/5 tasty food, would recommend!
Delicious, fresh, good quality AND quantity. My family had the oysters, scallops, gnochhi, seafood spaghetti, gumbo and food platter for two. Would recommend!
Awesome food everyone's meals were terrific, great staff, good setting very relaxing couldn't be more helpful great night
Whalers restaurant does not go lightly on the portions that they serve though you'll definitely pay for it. The high prices are to be expected of course though since it is located in Exmouth. The quality of the food is great and they have a good selection of beers on tap along with many choices in the fridge. The staff are very friendly there which is always a great experience and there is no need to get their attention for drinks/ meals as they'll service the tables regularly. This restaurant is definitely worth checking out as I feel it is one of if not the best restaurants in Exmouth. You'll leave feeling quite satisfied.
We had dinner here twice during our holiday and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, generous portions and good value. We can recommend the Seafood curry and the coffee brulee! Even though the town was experiencing a major mosquito problem, the restaurant had mosquito repellant on hand when required. Great service and great food.
Delicious vegan pumpkin and chickpea curry. Sorry I was so hungry so took photo after I started eating. Nice to have vegan options
Enjoyed our experience but it wasn’t anything amazing.
The food was okay, the prawn gnocchi only featured three prawns and the service was good but felt as though they were under staffed.
Eaten a few times during our recent stays in Exmouth and can’t fault it. Seafood medley platter was top notch. Can’t wait to come back.
Great food and service!
Staff all working hard, are kind and attentive.
We appreciate the effort they all made considering they are so busy.
Highly recommend and will go again.
Great to see the new owners have upheld the highest standards this restaurant has had for over ten years. The food and service is the best in town
Lost my food order, after an hour I asked what is happening & said we're very busy and afterwards admitted losing order, I paid for my drink, cancelled food order and left,
Have not been back
Great meals two days in a row. Fresh produce used & cooked how we requested. Cannot fault the service nor venue.
Thank you
Really nice place. We went for a quiet meal on a Tuesday night. It was very busy and kids running around everywhere but it quieted down. We were warned it would be a wait for the food but we were prepared to wait. We are glad we did! We had the seafood platter for 2 and it was stunning. The oysters were fresh, the scallops and prawns cooked to perfection and the amount of seafood was excellent. Well done whalers!
Best food in Exmouth! It's our venue of choice for most family dinners and a great place to go with friends
We ate here twice in our stay and couldn't fault it. Service was very good and food was excellent, some of the best I've had in a long time.
