Went we a group of friends for dinner and everything was incredible! Great service (Ale and Edu sooo friendly), food was great (they have a vegetarian menu) and drinks delicious. 100% recommended

Brought family, brother is a MasterChef, for dinner and as always the food, service and atmosphere was impeccable…. Can not rave loud enough about how amazing this restaurant is…. Please never change what you’re doing as it’s a HUGE success.

I think this is almost a scam. Overpriced food on a sticky table which hasn't been properly cleaned before us sitting. Guys you have a dish of gnocchi for 43$$$ and there's not a single table with a proper table cloth (not just 1 table but every table). What is this Place? Fast food court?
The gnocchi recipe was probably taken from tiktok, since the world has never seen it topped/fully covered with salad+tomato+parmesan and a piece of lemon aside. Who has ever put lemon juice on pasta? Who has ever put lemon juice on pasta with cream?
37$ for a fish (only 2 pieces) and chips.
I would have stepped out, but my partner forced me to stay.

Location: at the main road and easy accessible. They have a cozy outdoor and nice indoor part. But it gets super loud, so I had to scream to hear my dad.

Restaurant: the food was great! My recommendation: the shared seafood-Platter

Service: semi-friendly and inefficient.

If you ever come to Exmouth in WA, you need to try this! This is no ordinary seafood platter! It’s a taste sensation and l am not exaggerating. Take the bug for example, it was pan-fried, well seasoned and it was full of flavour. Also worth mentioning is the scallops. It looks like they were pan-fried with the shells so only one side is seared but it was perfectly cooked and the meat was sweet and tender. In addition the portions were just right as it leaves a little room for dessert

The food and service was excellent, probably down to the fact a lot of European’s seam to work here. I only rated the atmosphere as 3 due to the fact it was lunchtime and we were to only guests. Highly recommend the prawns.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with the food.
We were there as a group and had 5x steak with prawns. After that we were all sick, vomiting and diarrhea)
The crème brullé is absolutely not to be recommended either, the consistency is gritty and the taste is strange. Supposedly according to the manager because she is vegan….

I had dinner here and food was incredible good although breakfast service was not up to speed on the first day and I ended up not getting my breakfast in time before departure of tour.
But impressed by the quality of dinner.

We had dinner here a week ago, the meal, service and atmosphere where outstanding, thanks for a great night, Rob and Marg.

We were told it was the best seafood restaurant, Mantarays was much better in a nicer setting for about the same price. The scallop starter was very nice but I wish we’d just left then. My husband has stuffed chicken which could more accurately be described as chorizo wrapped in a fine layer of chicken. I had the pan fried gnocchi and prawns with white wine and cream sauce, again that would more accurately be described as a bland boiled gnocchi with 5 boiled prawns in a béchamel sauce so thick my fork stood up in it and containing enough garlic to knock a vampire on its backside from 50m away. Service was rushed and even though we were early and were told that we had 90 minutes to eat, we felt like we were being ushered out after about 40 minutes, we weren’t even offered the dessert menu. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back.

Delicious fresh seafood and awesome service! We shared the seafood platter for 2, chili mussels (was a special that evening, but was incredible and should be on the menu permanently), gnocchi, gumbo, and jalapeno poppers between 4 people. Was obviously too much food as the portions are very generous, but everything was so delicious that we ate it all anyway! Our waitress was a South American girl and she was all over everything; very attentive and also super fun. Definitely will be back on next visit to Exmouth!

Thank you for accommodating our special needs boy with his food requirements - that goes a long way for helping the rest of the family enjoy our meals! He even said his burger was better than Dads!

TLDR: Terrible service and attitude from staff. Found hair in meal 3/4 through dinner and got accused of setting myself up for a free meal.

Disappointed with my experience when I came here for dinner.
I ordered the main size plate of salt and pepper squid as I was advised that they had run out of chilli mussels.

Salad and squid were okay, chips were not very good. Towards the end of my meal, I picked a squid ring up and saw that there was a blonde strand of hair in my fried squid.

Called a server over to discuss what I had found and she called a male server over. From the beginning, he did not seem apologetic. He offered a replacement meal, but by then we were full and honestly, I was wary of their hygiene standards.

We went up to discuss payment methods. To our surprise, he keyed in the full amount for the salt and pepper squid. We did ask for a discount or if we could get the meal free of charge.

“You’ve eaten more than half the meal and you want it for free? ”

I’m sorry - make it make sense.
I am not going to be picking my food and inspecting it for hair when they charge the amount they do.
Whalers is not a fast food joint. They should have good hygiene practices in place for the price they are charging.

He said they don’t normally do that (so can I assume this has happened on multiple occasions?) and if I was unhappy he could bring the boss over.

“*manager*, They want their meal for free”

Excuse me?

The manager agreed although UNWILLINGLY and was not apologetic at all.

Anyway, eat here if you’d like to experience terrible service from the staff.

We ate here twice in one week and were met with the same poor greeting. The manager asked us both times to “please wait here we aren’t ready for you yet”. The first time we had a group of 15 so there were literally 15 people just standing at the front of the restaurant, meanwhile I could see that the table was Cleary ready. We could only get a later booking and were basically bullied into ordering 2 minutes after sitting down. I wasn’t even half way through my first cocktail (mains hadn’t even arrived) when they came to tell us it was last drinks… The food was good, however there were no oysters.
Whoever the manager is at this establishment needs to seriously reconsider how he treats customers and his staff. He is awful and I wasn’t pleased that I made my friends pay so much for a meal that was on par with The Potshot for half the price. I’ve had better service at Maccas.

Definitely the best place to eat in exmouth, wouldn't waste your money anywhere else, meals were delicious and hot had the bacon wrapped eye fillet was superb

If I could give no stars I would, the staff are so extremely rude and have no customer service skills. Especially the manager who was extremely arrogant and was arguing with people on our table. Two staff in particular ruined the whole experience.the manager (Brazilian looking with dark long hair) and the waitress who looked similar dark pony tail. They refused to give us their names so we could complain. Even the owner took no responsibility and couldn’t care less…Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here, one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. They hire backpackers which is fine but teach them no customer service skills or even manners in general.
Table of 25 with over $1200 spent and that’s the service we received…honestly would rather eat a pie from the roadhouse.food was average

OMG the food is amazing! One of the best meals I’ve ever had (eye fillet mignon) and my friends said their meals were all great too. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was undercooked and the chicken smelt like raw fish. We had to send back our meals over three times to be rectified, however we ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Shame as its in a great location.

Staff were lovely and my colleagues enjoyed their shared seafood tower. My laksa was cold and more like a stir-fry than soup
