Used to be great, has been our go to vet since they opened.lately the service level has dropped dramatically. Normally have to wait a while which I don't mind if receiving good service but the last 6-12 months this vet has gone down hill, get rushed out the door and made to feel like you are annoying for asking a question. Only 1 good vet left there in my opinion. We have since found another vet and wont be returning.

It was very late in the evening, I returned home to find my dog’s eye squinting. With his recent run in with the testy house cat not going well, I wasn’t willing to risk the wait and see approach.
The nurse understood the situation immediately and squeezed us in at the very end of a long day.
I am honestly appreciative of the effort made for us.
Not forcing us off to the very expensive emergency hospital’s, which they had every right to do at that time of day.
Thanks for the professionalism Vet West.

Amazing service. Took time to explain, tests done on the spot so we could leave with treatments. Caring. Quality advice. Upbeat, friendly and professional. Vet, nurse & receptionist all top notch. I have faith in them that if anything went wrong my dog would be in the best of hands. 12/10

Hi,
I just wanted to share my second and last experience with Vetwest Ellenbrook.
I've previously gone with my dog during the COVID19 epidemic. Although it wasn't a pleseant or seamlessly organised experience, I understood the long wait time and standing outside with my dog to be seen.
This time however, it was business as usual. I had a general appointment for my geriatric cat at 2: 45pm.
Vet visits with cats are a great deal more difficult than with dogs I find. It's a very stressful experience for any animal, and as my cat is older, we try to avoid such stress iducing situations as much as possible. Of course, I struggled to find and get my cat in the carrier, hit school pick-up trafic and found myself, regrettably, 8 minutes late for my cat's 15 minute appointment. I apoligised upon arrival.
I was informed the owner of the next appointment was being seen in my stead; understandable, sensible. I was then told I would have to book another appointment for HOURS later or the next day, all the while holding the cat carrier of a very vocal and clearly distressed geriatric cat. I asked if I could simply swap appointments with the owner that is currently being seen early in my apppointed time slot, perhaps have a shorter consoltation to make up for the lost minutes.
Problem solved.
Apparently not; I was spoken to by a increasingly condescending person who appeared to be a vet nurse. The tone taken was unprofessional and lacking the care you would expect from a medical professional. As if I was a todler, I had it explained to me that the appointment would take 15 MINUTES, not 20, not 10 but 15 minutes. Then further explained that the treating vet does not want to get out of work 5 minutes late so I had to book another appointment for my distressed elderly cat. I do not want to put my cat through another remotely traumatic experience again anytime soon.
Were this a geriatric human or any other medical facility, you would just expect to sit down and wait to be seen. You had an appointment, it's inconvienent you're late, but you are elderly and have a medical issue so you wait and they see you. Simple. This is the level of care that is expected of medical professionals.
It left a rock in my stomach when I walked out of this medical facility, that they would rather get out of work early than stay just 5 minutes to treat an elderly patient. It's incredibly disappointing that this is the level of care given from medical professionals; regardless of species, human or other.
You expect more care from a caring profession.
Thank you for your time.

This practice needs to get organised for dealing with clients in this new Covid environment. They should allow more time between appointments because everyone needs to stay outside the facility. Also, unless your animal is aggressive or anxious, you can’t be with them in the exam room. This is only told to you when you arrive. It doesn’t take much to email blast your database and advise the changes.

Shambles of a Vet totally disorganised and unprofessional. I wouldn't even go there again even if it was free. Waited 40 minutes and still wasnt seen even though people with appointments after me were ushered in first. Previously been asked to come in for appointents as follow up then questioned why I was seeing them again. Have had medication ordered in and then used by the clinic so unable to supply when I arrived to pick it up. Final straw today and it would have been earlier if not for the first Vet we saw, unfortunately they were only filling in for that day.

Kara (I think that’s how you spell it) at Vetwest Ellenbrook is an absolute asset to the clinic, she went above and beyond to help me and my dog Echo and managed to get her in for an operation the very next day after her check up. Monika and Holly were also great and made sure Echo was well looked after and explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I cannot thank Kara, Monika, Holly and the team enough!

Not even deserving of a single star. Had I listened to the experts, my essentially healthy dog would have been euthanised.

Unprofessional in terms of diagnosis and dosages (was sold 90ml, recieved 80ml of a product where my dog required 90ml as effective treatment dose).

My previously healthy animal (older gent, but with a clean bill of health aside from some minor arthritis) was recommended to be euthanised purely based on his age. I was told by the vet "he's not going to get any better". I pushed for treatment and as he had some diarrhea and a bit of a temperature, the vet agreed to treat.

He had an infection which antibiotics cleared up. Had I followed the clinics original advice and not pushed, my best friend of 15 years would have been euthanised for no real reason. He's currently running around the back yard like a puppy.not even stiff.

They charged me $230 for the antibiotics, and anti diarrhea medication and a consult. I usually attend swan vets (Runyon rd, look them up before you come here!) and they charged me $89 for a consult and a month's supply of his anti inflammatories for his arthritis.

When the issue was raised with the clinic, I spoke to a lovely woman who unfortunately couldn't help due to company policy or recognise this as an extremely serious issue as she wasn't the vet concerned. The vet was locombe, so there is no accountability to be held there either.

I was offered a free consultation with another regular vet from their clinic, however the trust is gone, as is his infection.

Thank you for your time, but I can't in good conscience not share my story. The woman in front of me is persuing similar grievances. She discussed a mistake being made that could have cost her dogs life. The response for her was "lucky you found it, no real harm done".

Please think long and hard before you choose vetwest.

Always have a great experience and the follow up phone calls after any of my furbabies has a procedure is greatly appreciated.

If i could give a zero i would! They have no knowledge what so ever.went in for a referral as my dog required a referral letter for an eco. Rang them to ask where it was only to find out they sent his history to the specialist which when i was reading it it was wrong even after showing them his last years scan findings.still waiting on the referral letter, his appointment is on MONDAY not to mention they never called back like they said.well you just lost 2 patients and more as i would never recommend them.

Thank you Luke for your reply but it is to little to late now. I will be coming in today for my refund as the service since has been disgusting to say the less.

Took my dog here a few weeks ago, saw Dr Melody very unhappy with my visit. She had no idea what was going on, prescribed medication and said to come back in a few days if he still wasn't better. Took him to another vet, turns out the medication she prescribed could have been fatal to my dog. He is now in the care of a much more empathetic vet who cares and knows what they are doing!

We have visited other vet centres, but they do not compare to Vet west Ellenbrook. We have such a wonderful experience every vet visit. The staff are lovely and really show they care for your dog.

Vetwest Ellenbrook has very helpful, caring and friendly staff on board. Every visit is pleasant! It’s great to have a great vet in our local area. We wish they might have cats boarding
facility in the future like cats in the city. So we won’t need to go that far.

Puppy school was extremely fun. Ashleigh was very helpful and our boy was off to a good start thanks to her. We do wish you will offer more advanced classes in this location in the near future. I was exceptionally keen to join.

Staff are always kind and friendly. Some days the vets are fully booked which just shows how popular they are. Bookings can also be done online which is very convenient. Highly recommend Vetwest Ellenbrook.
