Travellers Autobarn Campervan Hire Perth

We had nice experience with Travellers Autobarn since the pick up and drop off.
They offer very convenient service with delightful treatment. Chris provide useful information and few advise before both of us start our beautiful journey.

Our Kuga campervan surprisingly very clean and comfortable with all the amenities and complete kitchen equipment. Van work very fine job for our 3 week journey in southern nz.

Definitely will using their services again next time.we'll be missing our amazing and beautiful time with our 'kuga van'.
It's very fun when you can bring home everywhere.

This is a general review and not branch related.

We did a 40 days roadtrip in a Kuga campervan from Darwin to Perth and near 9000 kilometers.

Pick-up in Darwin went smooth and fast and staff was friendly. Our campervan was pretty old and beat up with over 300K's on it.
Campervan exterior was cleaned and polished thoroughly before our arrival which was great. The campervan did deviate from the pictures on the website as only the sliding door had a glass window. Due to limited lighting it made the interior dark and a bit claustrophobic compared to our other rental experience which had windows all around it. It was a bit of a surprise so to say but eventually we got used to it.

Opted for some extra's as camping chairs, camping table and solar shower. The chairs and table were old and used quite extensively. Solar shower had a puncture in it and we got it refunded via Customer Support.
In the end for the price you can get cheaper and brand new chairs and tables at Big W or K mart.

I had to repair the fly screen as there were holes in it. And they forgot to attach the tap adapter so we could not refill our water tank at our first camping stop. Bought our own on the first supermarket stop. We received some comments about dumping our waste water as the campervan does not have a grey water tank.
These are just minor issues we encountered the first few days.

What we cannot overlook was the interior. It was nasty and it seems like it was not cleaned properly. We had to spend 2 hours to clean the interior as every wet wipe came out full with dirt and grime. I have mentioned it to Customer Support but have not received a reply on it. I am confident we returned the campervan cleaner than we had received it. I understand TA target group are backpackers/budget travellers however lacking in this department is no excuse.

On our second rental day having driven just 200 kilometers the check engine light came on and during almost our entire trip it stayed on. We contacted Customer Support and got told to continue our journey and keep a close eye on it. We expressed our discomfort as we had to go quite the distance to reach the NT/WA border which had limited phone reception and almost no other drivers on the road for many hours. Eventually we continued as during the first week there was heavy rainfall (wet season) and water poured into our campervan. After checking the seals at the door it was for a big part loose and dried up on multiple locations. We decided to get to WA as fast as possible as the campervan could not manage rains due to it.
Luckily we had no mechanical issues our entire roadtrip despite the check engine light on. However on drop off we did encounter another (not so happy) couple that had been towed due to mechanical problems. These things happen and I am glad it did not happen to us in the outback.

It was an interesting experience and in the end I am relieved everything worked out. Service and pricing at TA is good I just wished their campervans were a bit newer.
I see TA recently opened a branche in Japan and we will be travelling Japan soon. However having experienced this I personally would spend more and not have these headaches to deal with.

Sincerely hope this feedback reaches the right person and especially the cleanliness (!) improves for other renters.

The van was in great condition! Both the pick up and drop off were smooth sailing. Dale and Wayne were really helpful, even gave us some extra blankets for the journey and they have some free bits and bobs like cooking oil that you can take on the trip! Would definitely recommend!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Travellers Autobarn campervan hire during my recent 10-day trip from Perth to Coral Bay in August with my 2 young kids. I rented their Kuga model campervan, and from the moment we picked it up until we returned it, the customer service was top-notch. But most importantly when we had an unfortunate incident just 3 days into our journey.

While driving into Kalbarri, I accidentally hit a kangaroo, which resulted in a busted radiator. This was a stressful situation! (yes.i could have avoided driving around dusk time). Thankfully, Glynn from customer service was an absolute lifesaver. He displayed incredible patience and became my lifeline during this holiday! Glynn swiftly assisted me in arranging for a mechanic service and the repair of the radiator, which was completed in just three days. He offered alternative solutions to ensure that my trip could continue without any significant disruptions. Glynn's dedication and support were invaluable, and I'm grateful for his assistance during this unexpected "real Aussie adventure"

I am super pleased with the Kuga campervan. It was an excellent choice for my journey with my 2 girls. We fit comfortably in the van and could even have movie night with popcorn! The amenities were top-notch, and the van's practical design made our trip comfortable and convenient.

I can't recommend Travellers Autobarn enough. Their customer service is LEGEND, and their Kuga campervan provided excellent value for money. If you're looking for a hassle-free and hospitable campervan rental experience, definitely book viaTravellers Autobarn. Telea and Dale were the most helpful, friendly, informative AND funny people ever! They were so helpful with tips and tricks while we were on the road. Will most definitely be back again, the van was perfect, super clean, and included everything you need while on a road trip! I have and will continue to recommend these guys to everyone I know!

Re: Travellers Autobarn Perth (Midlands). Good value for money in terms of what you get. Cheapest option on the market, ideal for budget travellers like myself.
This was our second time renting with Travellers Autobarn. We knew the average quality of gear we would get (camping gear that came with the car) so we insisted on inspecting everything before departure, which was questioned by staff. We found gear was missing and/or broken, it took a lot of convincing for the staff to replace those items. Staff told us the car had recently been t-boned and the mechanic had wanted to write off the car, but they insisted it be fixed. On both occasions we rented with them, staff assured us this was their ‘favourite car’. However I would not say that is a reassuring detail you want to hear prior to departure. Internal elements of the car were breaking off eg handbrake casing, window buttons. All in all the car itself ran fine for the duration of use (odo read 400,000km at end of trip, previous car 590,000km) but I wasn’t happy with the customer service we received at the pick up/drop off location. Probably won’t be back.

We rented the chubby camper for 8 days going from Perth to Exmouth and back. The camper was easy to drive and really comfortable to live in. The Chubby camper is the perfect size for smaller road trips. The only downside is that it guzzles petrol. However that is to be expected when going long distances.

My brother and I rented a van from Travellers Autobahn Perth. It was fantastic being able to explore around WA with the freedom of having a home on wheels. The Hightop van was clean, comfortable, reliable and really surprised me how spacious it was. I could stand inside it easily. Would highly recommend renting a van here for anyone visiting WA

We’ve just come back from a great WA road trip! The chubby camper had absolutely everything that we needed and was reliable taking us all the way to exmouth and back! We would definitely recommend and use travellers Autobarn again! Big thanks to Dylan who helped us with everything when we first picked up the van and when we returned

Dylan helped set us up and drop off the van. He was super helpful, welcoming and friendly. My friend and I got the Chubby Camper and loved it! Simple and sweet, plenty of storage, great back kitchen space, easy driving and the perfect trip. I would definitely recommend and rent here again!

Leaf and Dill (hah!) gave excellent customer service. Car, despite age and an unimaginable amount lead footed drivers, ran smoothly with no mechanical issues. Was clean inside and out. My only issue? The noise the ceramics make when going over bumps. Yeesh. Thanks to Lachlan and Dylan for the chats (and service)!

We traveller nearly two months in Australia with Travellers Autobarn, both on the East and West Coast, and we have to recommend them. Their price is fair (half way between big motorhomes and smaller Campervans where we felt we wouldn’t feel that confortable), the Campervan was very clean and had more than enough space to storage our bags, have dinner, work and sleep comfortably. It drives just like a regular car, you just have to be careful with the wind as you do with any tall vehicle. It parks anywhere and that was also the reason we went for it and not for a larger Campervan/motorhome. The kitchen had everything so we didn’t had to buy nothing additional. Mechanically we had no problem, the camper was surprisingly stable on the road, the tires looked nearly new, the gearbox was automatic and glad we chose that. The overall experience was great and their teams in Perth and Brisbane, upon the pick up helped us a lot with tips, instructions on how to use the camper, itineraries, and all of that (it was the first time we travelled on a camper so that just helped us feel more comfortable!). Oh and they have a whatsapp support in case you need anything and a lot of information on their website that can help with all the planning.

Imagine you are 2 young women on a long awaited trip to Australia. Months of planning, a lot of money that now has to be spent and on which was saved for years. You are full of anticipation of what you will face, the experience you will gather and especially what challenges will await you.

Well, these challenges have not been long in coming. The intention of the two was to rent a camper from this rental company to drive the west coast.
I now write with good German sarcasm.
This "camper (Station Wagon) " they got is in good German a pile of aluminum scrap. Completely rusted, broken, and I'm going out on a limb here to say that if I were to look at the engine, this vehicle is no longer roadworthy. I don't even want to imagine what will happen if this vehicle is to blame for the death of my two girls.

It is a bottomless impudence. The car rusts away no matter where you look. It's dirty, lacks storage space. It is a miracle for me that you can sell such a thing as a "Station Wagon" at all. What some people in Australia due to the high number of visitors, vacationers allow themselves is pure madness.
I sincerely hope that the owners of this ominous "camper" rental times question themselves. Because what you get for the money is a bare joke.

We are currently on a world tour and decided to do a road trip through Western Australia. It's been our first time using a camper. We had the Kuga Campervan - if we had have more time we would have extended for sure!

We really loved how the bed was build up. So if you need some space to work, just remove the bed and there you go with more than enough space. The bed by the way was really comfy!

And we really loved the support. Just write an email and they will respond super quick. Which was very important for us.

Highly recommend this company. We would love to go for another road trip!:)
