The Spaniard reviews
50We ordered seafood Paella for two, and were so so disappointed. The shrimp, mussels, clams, and squids were overcooked dry and the rice was also dry and very very salty. The croquettes were not very good either, it’s overly sweet, with only 3 or 4 pieces of corn and chicken mostly cheese. It was the worst paella we have ever had. It was definitely not worth the money ($48 aud). We will never go back and would never recommend to the paella to anyone. Two stars only because the service was good.
Stand out sangria
The food was good but all was overshadowed by how ridiculously hot the temperature is in the venue?
I went on Sat night, the tapas were very good, but the paella was terrible, extremely salty and overcooked.
The staff were nice but service was average as they were desperate for us to leave. They should have not taken our order, it would have been better for everyone.
Had a great evening here with friends. Servings on the small side but more than made up for in taste. Triple fried patatas bravas are a standout. Great service and even had an impromptu mini wine tasting to help us choose our drink.
Food was lovely and tasty. Waiter was great and professional…but in an environment where these type of business are suffering you would think the staff would be less rude. There is so many signs and articles about treating staff with respect especially in hospitality and I fully support it! I used to work in this field and understand the pitfalls.but what about treating your customers who come out risking to get sick and support your businesses. Young girl short, with dark hair behind the counter was abrasive rude and could not bring herself to smile once. I go out to enjoy myself and not put up with someone’s bad mood! Perhaps a career change might be in order.sorry Spaniard plenty of other places to go. Reason I’m posting I come there a fair bit and this is not a one off!
Four of us went here Wed night what a great place the two young ladies running the show were awesome absolutely terrific and the food WOW we had numerous dishes all sensational this place is a gem and the cocktail yumm, you must give the spaniard a go thanks guys amazing
I'd been there a few times before and the food never disappointed.
I went for dinner in recent weeks and was disappointed with the menu. Nothing exciting for the tapas, disappointing very very salty chorizo and the only saving grace on the menu was the seafood paella.
Bring back the old menu - please and thank you.
Great food and drinks. So far, the best sangria, chorizos, and churros I’ve tried in Perth. Service is very friendly however someone forgot about our order and we waited a lot for our food. I would definitely go back and give it another go:)
I booked for a Hens Party I called the night before to confirm, the lady said she did not have our booking! After much stress and calling around she had been looking at the wrong day!
We were told that we would be eating Tapas, enough that equals up to 1 main meal per person, (Calamari, cold meats ect.) this was far from the case. All we received was 2x cheese platters which included some quince paste, 3 tiny pieces of cheese and a bowl with some crackers, and 5 bowls of chips!
I am sorry but Chips some cheese and crackers is not Tapas and not enough for 12 ladies, I had to sit there the whole night with everyone asking me if that was it, is there more food coming out or was it just chips, I ended up speaking to the manager and she informed me that was what you had ordered! After speaking to the manager and all the running back and forth, she was kind enough to throw in some Chorizo but it was already 8.20pm and not enough time for us to wait for more food as we had to be somewhere. I left my number and no one called me to follow it up the next week like promised. There was one lady on the bar and drinks were very slow to come out.
Had a fantastic dinner here with friends. Food was awesome! So many gluten free options. The staff were lovely and friendly. We had exceptional service from Jennifer and Eric. Can’t wait to come back.
First visit and loved it. The staff were brilliant and especially accommodating for nut allergy. The food was brilliant, tasty and authentic. Will definitely be back
I love this place. The tapas is always great and the staff so nice. If you like good food get yourself here!
The food was really yummy! (We tried the potatoes, Brussel sprouts, croquettes and paella).
Pretty pricey (especially for the seafood paella that didn't have a huge amount of seafood on it).
The atmosphere was quite loud, and the chairs were't very comfortable; high tables and bar stools rather than table and chairs.
The staff were very lovely.
Great little place, fantastic food and drink, Very warm welcoming Staff too who made space for us when we didnt have a reservation. Thank you for the nice night!
In March I booked a table for June. Confirming on their booking request that I need wheelchair accessable. After 7 emails and 4 confirmations by phone they ring me as we are arriving in the city to state we only have high tables none suitable for a wheelchair. This is pure discrimination So disgusted with this place. Don't book here as there are so many better managed places in Perth city.
An incredible atmosphere with lovely staff, I thoroughly recommend trying them out if you have the opportunity.
Great small place for a wine or two and delicious tapas. The confit mushrooms were absolutely delicious. Soooo good.
The croquettes were AMAZING, patatas bravas were spicy but not that flavoursome, Iberian ham was fatty and not that flavoured as well, the paella Valencia was also lacking flavour/spice however the squid ink paella was DELICIOUS! WE should have ordered more of that.
Cocktails took forever to be made and delivered to our table - however the Pisco Sour was also delicious.
The staff were extremely friendly & approachable however the wait for food and drinks was slightly ridiculous.
The price for everything was also higher than normal and not necessarily worth it.
Though it is a great location.
Toilets are not disabled friendly.
Good dining environment and atmosphere.
The meals are delicious, but the Spanish dishes are usually small so the average personal consumption will be higher.
Very disappointing. More than half of the menu items listing on their website are not available and what they do have is satisfactory at best. And all the food is extremely over priced for what you get. The only saving grace is the cocktails are delicious.
