The Quarie Bar & Brasserie reviews
65 Immediately upon arrival we were told that we had to vacate the table in 1hr 20min for the next booking. Good evening to you too! Now while that ordinarily wouldn't have been too much of a problem, the fact that the wait staff were run off their feet which resulted in sporadic table service and hence delayed our ordering of food, nothing arrived at the table until 30mins before our vacate time, and then it was in dribs and drabs. Add to that we had a young child dining with us, that time window was never going to work. However, it didn't cause any problems that we could see as the vacate time came and went.
The food was reasonable, the 'warm' salad could've done with some warmth in the meat content but overall we were satisfied. Dessert portions were big, which is never a bad thing.
As far as a local boozer goes, the Quarrie is half decent. Nice atmosphere, never once seen any agro, food is normally decent but occasionally can be a let down. Some prices on the expensive side shouldn't be having to pay $14.50 for a pint of hazy in a local.
We have eaten here often over a few years but have never been so disappointed as today, firstly after 10 minutes we were asked if we would like to order a drink we declined so the girl just walked away without taking our food order 10 minutes later another girl took our order at least she was friendly.overcooked squid which was not cleaned properly, chicken parmy was awful I’ve never seen tomato paste used instead of real tomato sauce, paper thin chicken that didn’t look like chicken at all, dry chips with no offer of sauce or anything else. We won’t be back in a hurry.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good food and a pleasant setting. We happened upon the place on our way back from Perth and were pleasantly surprised. Will definitely return.
Its getting worse and worse, really under staff, people waiting for an hour to get the wrong food, the mains came before the entree
Really hope it improves because manegement at the moment is useless
We are locals and when I say locals I mean walking distance. Been to the Quarie numerous times, tried just about everything on the menu and have been served by all sorts of staff and I found the only thing good about the joint is the beer selection. The food is horrendous! Sometimes comes out cold and tasteless. The service is slack and unprofessional -
the staff are just there to collect there paycheck and that's all.
Wine is expensive & they couldn't give me my uneaten meal to take home.disappointing when it just goes in the rubbish!
I wish I can give zero star for them.
Poached egg in caesar salad was totally cooked. Just like boiled egg. Oh, sand in the salad some more. Ordered medium rare steak and it comes out 'RARE' and full of tendon.
Most unpleasant experience was waitress' attitude. When we complained about food, never even say sorry and just said 'do you want us redo your poached egg? ' She need some training for customer service.
Never again.
This is one of our go to restaurants. Don't go here because its busy enough as it is and sometimes we struggle to get a seat and the last thing we need is more punters popping up.
It's my local, good drive thru bottle shop but not much atmosphere or anything that stands out. Food is average and bar is quite boring. Be nice to have some ambience, music playing in the background, sports on tv, open mic nights, something to create a desire to come back more frequently.
Food is good, large portions.
Staff not so friendly/condescending over basic questions as to where to get water for our table, and where to get cutlery and condiments.
Unable to take away unfinished food - staff advised that the only option would be to walk across the road to the IGA and purchase brand new containers to package the food ourselves.
Considering the large portion sizes, this was inconvenient with one of our group ordering nachos and he was only able to eat 1/4 of the nacho bowl.
Staff also unaware of booking we had made online, apparently no record of this booking (luckily we had a screenshot of the booking and went for lunch on a weekday and it was not busy).
Mate had the fish which he said was tops. I had the beef Burger with extras, it was okay, filled a hole. Had better and worse.
I ordered the Pork Belly but there was no Pork Belly on my plate. The pork was a completely different cut & was fatty & disappointing. There was no crackle & was replaced with a crisp like alternative which was stale & inedible. At $33 it was an epic fail!
Could not fault the food. Barramundi cooked to perfection but small serve. Chicken parmigiana is huge. Garlic bread dry and hardly any butter. Sticky date to die for. Needed more icecream. Downside was waitresses attitude when we asked for split bill. Even made us calculate our own meals with a very sour face!
I am giving this a 3 star rating, I went here to celebrate a friends 18th birthday. The food was great, a bit pricy and the drinks were nice. The reason this is a 3 star is because the staff were so toned and moody. Every waitress there was rude, and had a tone. If you cannot serve nicely then you do not deserve to be working in hospitality.
Please have a word with your staff on how to treat customers nicely and with a good attitude.
Staff were lovely but I'm afraid the food was disappointing. It's a shame as we have been there before and it was lovely. I think perhaps the oil needed changing.
Huge servings of decent pub grub and a large selection of beverages.
Best to book if you want to sit in the restaurant on weekends.
Bottle shop attached for some cheeky takeaways.
Went for quick bite to eat after training on Tuesday lucky for us it was steak night great place to take the family good specials and selection of tap beers.
Love the Quarie. Young staff could do with some customer service skills. Also don't stand chatting and watch us walk in, then look over and decide to serve us. Rude girl
2 orders, both wrong.
A $32 “Pork belly” comes out with 3 “pork nuggets” and the blandest crackle I’ve ever had in my life. (I recon they got it out of a chip packet) and for veggies. “4 1/4” baby carrots.
Chips on both dishes barely cooked
The chicken was okay, breast meat & hot at least.
I’m heading out to get a pizza or something because I’m a long way off being full
Table water is cold, but typical Perth water, needs to be filtered.
1 star for the polite service, even if they got the order wrong
